We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

1. No real competition for NLSIU before this.
2. No more Nandan Nilekani or Soli Sorabjee on the interview panel. They used to prefer NLSIU, especially Nilekani.
3. Rhodes Trust received feedback that NLSIU was unnecessarily being preferred. During his visit to India in 2015, the then Warden of Rhodes House, Charles Conn, met with various people (including Jindal VC and ex-Rhodes scholar Rajkumar) and conveyed to Rhodes that they should be fairer to other law schools. Rajkumar himself said this while encouraging Jindal students to apply for Rhodes (no Jindal grad has won as yet, but people are being shortlisted in the final round, which didnโt happen before).
I'll be honest, whenever I try to seek help from my "friends," who may have the necessary details that could help me secure a T1 internship, they are unwilling to help me for reasons that I haven't been able to discover yet. [This needs another separate conversation.]
I truly need LI guidance on how to navigate through my endeavours to secure a T1 internship in May or June 2024.
Some liquid Assets.
We don't actually get much time to rest , play and work. Cant think of anything else. We are always trying to bring in more clients
The best person doesn't need to come from NLS.
Rhodes is an achievement for the individual at the end of the day.

Rajiv Mohan (not a senior)
Donโt discredit their achievements on political lobby & minority appeasement.
They are on, majorly on their own merit and achievements. Now do your due, look them up and form your own conclusion.
Also, there is an option for "Late Night Latest" in their form, any insights into what time I should fill in there (also if would that really make a difference), thanks!
1. Learning is much more. I have just learnt from just sitting next to my seniors and discussing stuff with them with a print on their hand or revising the document together.
2. I am not working 24x7. Once I leave office, I am expected to have logged out.
3. Office infra helps. Simple stuff like prints and coffee delivered to your desk helps so much and makes life simple.
4. My team and I have been able to connect far better. I get to spend some quality time with them (including my partner) even though it means catching up over a smoke or a coffee.
5. Work is done faster. As opposed just trying to figure out what my seniors are doing and when they will review my work, I get to finalise the product together. Learning and reviewing are faster.
6. Itโs helped me with my anxiety as well. My counsellor had told me that going to office and interacting with like minded people will help. She was so right. Earlier, I just wouldnโt no what to do when I wanted to take a break. Just ended up smoking in my room.
I understand that he has been looking for associates and I am keen to apply to him. However, there are has tons of negative feedback about the firm (including on LI) and clearly the firm isnโt doing well.
What should I do in this situation? Ignore the feedback about the firm, and just go for Avirup OR just perhaps apply to someone who isnโt that great but is in a steady firm?
I understand that Avirup has moved with the entire team. Clearly he commands strong loyalty that people moved with him without giving two hoots about S&Pโs performance.
My other options are Trilegal, Khaitan, CAM and Indus.
Eagerly look forward to receiving some guidance.
3. Drafting, strategizing arguments and briefing the arguing seniors.
4. The concerned team briefs the partner and then the partner briefs the arguing seniors.
5. They get to work.
6. Yes, of course.
7. Done by the firm tbh. The arguing counsels are simply there for the hearing and do not undertake in drafting most of the times.
8. Research and drafting replies.
9. Everybody, including the partner undertakes the research exercises.
10. Nope, they only brief the arguing counsels.
11. Mostly its commercial litigation but it can vary from case to case.
What NLS did in the early days is what is called in Bengali as 'phaka maathe goal mara' meaning scoring goals without a goalkeeper.
So I thought I might as well do an online one after my college reopens. I'll be doing an offline one during my internship break.
- First of all, Padle jitna ho sake. Agar lag rha hai ki pkka fail hone hi wala hai, then only opt for cheating.
Bro! Don't ever that make that mistake. Pakde gaye to Disciplinary committee baith jaegi, back lag jaegi. But yes, some things like case laws hath pe likh lo, and then write all of them beside question paper. Go to washroom and wash your hands.
- write on Handkerchief: less chances of getting caught. Bcz kisko Shaq hoga?
- write imp key words of sure shot questions on water bottle and erase it after noting down.
- Paste chit of key word inside pocket, and tear it a bit ( pass hona hai to) , hone k bad andar daal dena chit ko.
- Aur yad rakh, nakal k liye bhi akal chahiye hoti hai. Pakde mat jana bas๐ญ
So, if you will be joining DSNLU you will have to pay more fee than IPU. But if clat 2025 also went bad, then ___?. So, just think twice before doing anything.
However, you may get good NLU by vacancy like till MNLU Nagpur or if you are lucky then may be more better.
( More sympathy to you bro! I know you were well prepared, just give your best in the next exam, have a nice day!!!)
If you think this statement increased the substance of your argument even a bit, then you're highly mistaken.
Regardless if I can afford flights or not, I have every right to complain about the prices, and that's what I have done here as well. It is people like you who find problems with everything and has a habit giving unsolicited gyaan at every opportunity you can without having any reasoning or logic in that gyaan.
Buddy, try to have some reasoning in your arguments, don't just press random buttons on your keyboard. It's LI and that's why you are safe, had it been a real world, you would have been rebuked for such unnecessary and unsolicited policing.
And please don't be envious of others.
I have been good so far but circumstances at home are making me lose focus and Iโm shitting because I think Iโm sending out a bad draft :/
Take that chip off of your shoulder, dhindhora pitna band karo and maybe spend that energy trying to highlight this systemic issue.
As with all judges who follow the law, this assessment is based on appreciation of Evidence and is an arbitrary exercise based on he facts. Therefore, unless your uncle is Sallu bhai, not even Harish ji can assure you a reversal order.
Doing an analyst job only gets you to the financial drudgery of the same shit that gets done by CM teams. The same documents and papers, but more excel sheets. More numbers. This isn't tech, it's pure paper pushing, and mindless stuff that a CGI can easily operate. Its not fun, not interesting. 99% of the people want to shift to PE.
Coming to M&A Execution in IB. No, not different. You create pitch decks, which are templated presentations. You don't learn anything. It's the same shit. People leave, all of them. It's a glorified sales job, which will surely be irrelevant in a few years as more PEFs and HFs are running in house research and sales. Even a VP at such a firm is doing the same paper work. You are just another paper pusher.
If you want to learn the financial markets, you must read books. Do courses, ofcourse, the CFA helps. Not the work. You don't even need this knowledge for the work in IB.
Will ask you to intern/ work with well known seniors here who are great mentors and quite huge in the commercial real estate litigation that constitutes the disputed, about 75% of the land of Hyderabad
These firms particularly have a lot of staff and work around, but not enough for over the counter intern delegation. But their intern intake is quite inflated for some reason known to the HR.
Therefore, selective delegation of work is practiced, and certainly online interns are not alotted the chunk of work, the kind of which you'd expect to be assessed over, for lack of connectivity and closeness to explain the details of the work assignment and elicit an intial response for preliminary feedback. Calls and messages are effective only once you break that barrier.
There was certainly a zealous placement conducted in 2023, especially if you were to compare those numbers with that of the 2024 and 2025 batches, who are suffering dearly everywhere. Just look at the CAM intake.
Honestly, hiring is happening, but firms are being quite selective with recruitment because of the 2023 bunch, who weren't exactly quite meritorious with work either. It seems the quality of freshers has deteriorated quite considerably which has caused partners to prefer laterals. The market is actually pretty good in India and is swooned to grow soon, hence isn't to blame.
For emphasis, I repeat, the 2023 batch was really really disappointing in several firms I know, would like to know comments from partners in other firms.

Keep it the last option.
Do they take in freshers? How do I get an internship?
After hearing all the rants about law firms, couldn't help but wonder, don't these firms hire LEGAL consultants?
most people cheat anyway, everyone did during online sems
Placements are abysmal, students have to work on their own mostly, and 95-98% percent of placement that does happen is through individual efforts, and by the way the people who do get placed are so low you can count them on fingers! For the last 2 batches, At least, given that the batch size is enormous, itโs really a shame, also, it has a lot of elite privilege too, people born and brought up in mumbai have groups and are mean to others, they can make comment about the way people from other state dress, speak, behave etc!
other than that simplify your cv
then there is always prozac
Maybe the CFA will be a better option for you since lvl 1 starts from basics and you can opt for online classes.
I think this much will suffice.
