These firms are as toxic as law firms. Comparatively less, but the margin is tiny and not worth it when you look at the pay they give. Tier 1s pay double their CTC, however could prove to be a decent replacement for tier 2s. I don't think they hire legal interns.
Indian law firms have no credibility or brand name outside of India. While the Big 4 is a brand name, even if they pay a little less initially. Everyone knows what a PwC, EY, Deloitte, or KPMG is, but you'll have difficulty explaining what a SAM or a CAM is. On a global scale, the SAMs and CAMs are irrelevant - while the Big 4 are called so for a reason.
Not really. Iβve done an LLM abroad. Your statement stands true if one is trying to pivot out of practising law and taking up some other role abroad. If youβre striving to practice as a lawyer in a foreign jurisdiction, the unfortunate truth is that firms abroad only know about SAM, CAM, AZB etc. I directly felt the impact of this because I didnβt have these firms on my resume when I was abroad. Itβs a different matter that I joined them after coming back and got the fuck out as soon as I could.
Um, a global law firm not knowing about firms in India is terrible for their business. Weβve gate kept the market, so the only way they can do business in India is via law firms here. Not to mention any large deal where one of these firms would be representing the Indian entity and therefore directly interacting with international firms. Youβre misinformed.
Do they take in freshers? How do I get an internship?
After hearing all the rants about law firms, couldn't help but wonder, don't these firms hire LEGAL consultants?
