The placement committee sucks, there are no job, you're basically on your own
If you're general, NLUD. Remember, don't question this.
a nlsiu student says nludNlud student says nlsiu
Just pick whatever you want, both are great colleges. I've had kids of both colleges under me and there's not much difference, though i might have a little nlud bias owing to the fact that I've had more nlud interns than nlsiu

They mainly do PE/VC transactions for investors. However, they might not be open to hiring at the moment. I think they are running at full capacity.
GLC Mumbai for student outside Maharashtra can be very expensive, however if yoh are EWS or any Maharashtra Based ST/SC/OBC, your fee becomes as low as 340 rupees and you may get a seat at Government Colleges Hostel with per semester fee as low as 6000. Also, if you are not a reserved category, GLC can still be better than T3 NLUs however it would be just as expensive.
ILS is a great college, with placements at par with GLC and better than T3 NLUs, the fees also being very reasonable. It has an amazing campus and campus life. Many lawfirms are opening their back offices in pune, so more opportunities.
However Placement wise it's going to be GLC>ILS>T3 NLUs.
Since you aren't in the top 7 NLUs you are anyways going to have to work very hard to remain at the top of your batch.
if you follow the notification for land allotment at https://vidhanlegalpolicy.in/2023/06/29/mnlu-mumbai-granted-permanent-land-for-establishment-of-own-campus/ (scroll to the bottom for the notification) its on WS32 of the Mumbai master plan, which you can check at https://udri.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Western%20Suburbs/WS%20%2032.PDF
if the coastal road ever gets built, it will hem in the NLU, on three sides there is creek and on the other side there will be a 8 lane elevated highway
some nlus have hills, some have lakes, MNLU will have an 8 lane highway :P
Also, shame on those who stand by him after all the accounts and proof have already come out.

No wonder "Maam" is looking sad now days.
NLS is still a great school, but it's no longer a place that will spoonfeed you and be a sure shot way to something good in your career.
If UG & PG - NLS
If PhD - NLS
I bet he's more than 30 when he started litigation, as judiciary can be given till 35 & exams like UPSC can be given till 32 & even more if you're from a reserved category. I personally know someone who's 40 and cracked the PCS exam.
Or, I think like a lot of people they were simultaneously working and giving exams.
Also, I've seen many people crack into law firms without contacts or support. It's either their CV was really good despite the gap years or they absolutely knocked it out of the park with their interview skills. Plus this individual has work exp, that really helps as well.
Moreover, the career went from litigation>2T>1T...seen many promotion like that. So it's plausible. Don't know what you're complaining about ?!?

Had a chat with the said junior later on. The junior not on record. Matter rejected for some formal noncompliance apparently, restoration filed with some delay. This fact also voluntarily submitted to the Bench by the said junior.
Is this really how things are? The delay was little over 6 months. How can one possibly continue litigation if such would be the approach towards juniors? This is just one of the many observations for a period of a few months now. This has got me seriously thinking about switching from lit to non-lit. Please share your views on this. Obviously please keep things anonymous and avoid sharing any identifiable details.

Choose institution which you like. You are going to have new VC and you can't predict as to whether he/she would be a better one or worse than the present one.
So I will not attack you but rather smile, because I know your views will change with age. 🙂

I'm from a fairly well-known private law college and in my final year, but owing to chronic procrastination, mental health problems, and mild substance addiction with a touch of heartbreak, my grades by the end of 5 years were average. Not terrible at all, but just the run-of-the-mill grades one can expect from cruising through law school without actually putting in any real effort.
Getting a job through college placements doesn't seem like an option for me, since shortlisting is done solely on grades. I've done litigation internships and firm internships with firms well-known in the field I want to make a career in, and the feedback has been consistently good. However, despite this, along with a couple of Moot Court and ADR competitions, my CV is once again, pretty average.
So here is my question. I have made peace with the fact that I will have to start at a smaller firm, or a litigation chamber and then try making a shift to firms that pay well. At that time, will my average grades hold me back? Or do law school grades only matter to the extent of getting the job itself (And an LLM if required). Will this act as a roadblock throughout my life, or will a few years of work experience make up for it?
I am 2023 law graduate and I want to be a M&A/PE&VC Lawyer. I have an option to join M&A structuring and Advisory firm but it is a CA firm. I request you all to please provide insights in my situation. Should I join it or keep looking for law firm jobs?
Please throw some light on my situation. It will be really very helpful.
Thankyou,
Regards.
P.S always shouting unnecessarily. Horrible treatment and work culture. Worse experience for the month.
ABV, LBS and Moraji Desai could have been the best if they had longer terms in office.
.
You only need one good internship to get a job. Just make sure you reach office on time, look like you're happy (no1 likes to work with a sad/tired person all the time), ask for work and feedback, follow up regularly and leave only on time or after (NOT before). As long as people like you and you're able to impress a SA, PA or Partner, you're good to go. Don't worry you have a year too. Intern as much as possible and work as hard as possible
