Bjp along with eknath shinde and devandra fadnavis gave 0 fucks about the 14 victims in the Billboard accident due to storms and, shamelessly held a rally in the same area of Mumbai. Stalled metros and daily commuters, caused traffic and people were stuck for hours. If this is who are leader is going to be then we need to do better.

Before 1990's there were very few corporate Law Firms in India. There was an explosion of Corporate Law Firms and jobs because he liberalized/privatized the economy. There was a 30 year economic boom because of him. Which lifted 30 crore Indians from Poverty.

He didn't even have a Parliamentary Majority. And unlike in the present left wing was a powerful force to be dealt and they were opposed to all his actions. You can tell he was forced to do this to save the country. But atleast he did it.

Jawaharlal Nehru, Atal Bihari Vajpayee & Manmohan Singh are also really good prime Ministers.

Modi? I have only one word to tell. Results speaks louder than words and actions. So far he has not done anything to substantially change India. So far no results on whatever he has claimed to have done.

Some reforms like IBC, GST, Infra is good. But not upto the mark, especially when he has a full majority. He has made a lot more mess (Demonetisation, Covid Vaccines etc)

When history speaks, 50 years from now it will record 2014-2024 as a period of low growth, jobless growth, rushed reforms that failed due to implementation, hubris and heartlessness. History has no favourites and numbers don’t lie. There is a reason 70 years later we debate JLN. Because he stands the test of time. 70 years later we will also debate MMS because he too delivered. ABV, PVNR - but for their spotted record on social harmony would have made the cut. LBS left us too soon or he may have been JLN-2.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was grossly undermined by the Nerhu Lobby. Not only was a better man than JLN, but he was also a better leader. Pains me to see him being called JLN-2. Even the folks at the Wire (looking at your shadow outlook, sure that’s all you read) would laugh at this rather absurd suggestion. If you read your history, you’ll learn that JLN was made a prime minister because Mr Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi threw a bloody fit and insisted on it. People gave in, and it happened.

Follow your own advice buddy. Go read Netaji’s autobiography or any other historical account to see who were India’s most popular leaders. Gandhiji was numero uno followed by Nehru. Sardar Patel was a distant third. He controlled the party machine and got the vote under Congress’ indirect election system. In any presidential election Nehru would’ve won unless he was contesting against Gandhiji. Please also go read what “lobby” existed. The Congress party bosses picked LBS and not Morarji and then picked IG not Morarji because they wanted to be able to control the PM. Eventually congress split with IG on one side and party bosses on the other side. So what lobby boss?

If he had challenged JLN to party leadership he would've lost. If he had contested against him in elections he would've lost. JLN was PM because he was elected, thrice. Shastri was picked because JLN recognised him as competent and honest. Please stop suggesting Panditji was some sort of imposition on the country. He was not. He remains India's most popular PM ever. Sure, criticise his policies but you should have the ability to respect our democracy. Chun ke aaye they. Teen baar.

Didn't know that Modi has made us secure. Our relationship with all our neighbors is at an all-time low, and people belonging to minority religions are afraid to go about their livelihoods within their own country. Plenty of terrorists roaming around, including those wearing saffron.

Do you even remember UPA regime? Most of the 90s and 2000s were riddled with insurgency. Every other day there was a blast or a terrorist attack. In J&K alone terrorists used to be kill so many soldiers daily. Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune bomb blasts, all INTERIOR cities of India were riddled with Jaish and IM terrorist blasts and attacks. Remember Samjhauta express blasts? Remember Mumbai local train blasts? Remember 2008 Mumbai terror attacks? Now SERIOUSLY tell me how many MAJOR INTERNAL cities of India have been riddled with such attacks since 2014??? NOT ONE. I am not some bhakt but a believer in numbers. Security wise yes Modi is good. India has learnt retaliating. Some terrorists do occur, you can not make them zero. But overall security is way better than UPA.

Actually, had you some sense of sociology, psychology, political science (not the entire version) and behavioural sciences, then you would have realised that terrorist attacks take place when the society is otherwise prospering, so as to make people feel afraid when they do not have any other reason to. When people are already afraid, divisive, fighting with each other, then the job of the terrorist is already done. So congrats, BJP, RSS, Modi and Ajay Bisht have done exactly that. As for security from external threats, looked at the Chinese border lately? Modi is scared of even admitting that they have encroached into our territory. From Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka to all the other neighbours, we no longer share a good relationship with a single one anymore. But so long as you get your fat salary and can pay for the absurdly high cost petrol and cooking gas without batting an eyelid, you will keep worshipping the likes of Modi.

Netaji would have been PM of India, not Nehru, had he not died prematurely. Netaji defeated Nehru in the Congress presidential election and was loved across the country. He would have similarly defeated Nehru in any Loka Sabha election anywhere in the country. India would have been a much more prosperous and discipline country had Netaji been PM. China would to have had the balls to attack India had Netaji been PM.

If Nehru would have been alive, Shastri would not have been PM. If Shastri would have been alive, Indira would not have been PM. If Indira would have been alive, Rajiv Gandhi would not have been PM. If Rajiv Gandhi would have been alive, Rao would not have been PM. If Pramod Mahajan would have been alive, Modi would not have been PM.

Again, what's the point?

It was likely the naval mutiny that scared the Brits that an armed insurrection could take place in the armed forces that were overwhelmingly Indian. But go check who the mutineers mutinied for. Who did they proclaim as their leader. Fact is Congress (and this includes Gandhiji, Panditji, Patel, Netaji, Azad and countless others) had mobilised the common man and become India’s de facto leaders. To say one incident won us freedom is dishonest or immature or both. The freedom struggle is a glorious era of our history. Politicising it on party / personalities is despicable. The unnamed millions who died for our country are as great as any leader.

Which election exactly? Do you know that Bose and Nehru were ideologically aligned and belonged to the Congress Socialist Party within the Congress? Bose counted Nehru as his leader and wanted him to break from Gandhiji. Nehru refused, Gandhiji made Bose’s election against his candidate (who was not Nehru btw) as a break from the governing consensus and had the entire working committee resign so that Netaji could pick his own CWC. Netaji quit the Presidency and the Congress to go with the Forward Bloc. He saw Nehru as a possible challenger to Gandhiji’s control of the Congress but Nehru wouldn’t split Congress unity and that’s where Netaji and Panditji parted ways. Bose's popularity was mainly confined to Bengal, whereas Gandhi and Nehru were popular all over India. Even today, Bose is mostly known in Bengal and not that huge outside Bengal. Bose can never be compared with Gandhi or Nehru. Instead, it is better to compare him with someone like Pattabhi Sitaramayya, who also served as Congress president. In modern times, perhaps Netaji would have the stature of Karunanidhi, Pawar, Uddhav, Mulayam, Lalu, Mamata, Naidu, Chautala, Jagan Reddy, Owaisi, etc, i.e. mostly regional leaders.

Vajaypayee comes at 3rd, not necessarily because of the kind of work which was done under his term but mainly because of how his government handled mishaps and didn't really create a mess of the government.

No one was expecting an overnight transformation – claiming a lack thereof is a flawed argument. Yes, there are instances of violence, but they are much fewer than they have been in the past five years. The insurgency has stopped. Human rights violations, if any, have never gone unabated in Kashmir. Exceptions make the rule. The Pandits did try returning, and what they went through after over 30 years only demonstrates the religious intolerance of certain people there, which Modi Ji will correct, and rightfully so.

Kashmir is an integral part of India, like any other state. The foreigner syndrome of some of its misguided locals can easily be corrected by maintaining Kashmir with industry, IT, jobs - that'll attract talent from across India and the world, and the jobless will see more sense in profiting from it, over stone pelting and giving shelter/ space to terrorists. The likes of Mufti and Omar Abdullah will have to change their colours to stay relevant, when they understand that the people of Kashmir want jobs and prosperity, not Hindu blood.

I therefore support Modi 🇮🇳🇮🇳

Fewer? Got any stats to prove that? For that matter, got any stats to show that things have improved at all? If it did, then BJP wouldn't have desperately tried not to hold elections. As for the reforms you spoke of, none of those depended on the abrogation of 370. Modi has shown no indication that he cares for the people other than to get hold of the Hindu population of Jammu and increase the number of seats from there so that it contributes to him staying in power.

Not any more of a disaster than it is now under Mo-Sha, with unemployment and inflation soaring high, income disparity skyrocketing, less and less money being spent on research, education and health, communal disharmony, regionalistic petty egoism, distrust against own countrymen, all government agencies and autonomous bodies losing their credibility, no market liberalisation, soaring tension with neighbours and zero faith left on the legislature, executive and judiciary.
