We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

TL;DR: most LRs will say no to freshers. Better to work somewhere for a couple years and then ask them for help if you want to change.
Even then, why specifically this one?
I'm stuck after joining a law firm - your health (both physical and mental) will be ruined, all the stories you've heard about law firms are true. Trust that and don't enter this horrendous life.
Only the pay is good rest nothing.
Caste census, private reservation and 70-80 percent resrvation are going to happen in 10-20 years whether you like it or not. You cant stop 60-70 percent country from demanding something, you can only postpone. We are in minority. Its not like this demand is new caste census has happened but data was found faulty as in india caste system is complex. There is no central authority deciding caste. Its brutal majotarianism.
So theres no hope but caste census so we exactly know how many we are but brahmin and other upper caste( some brahmin and upper caste come in OBC) from OBC must be counted in general category. That way we can be 35 percent something. So 35 percent will be decent share to compete. Right now also general category(non ews) competiting for 40 percent.
But i dont know i would like to see my country such a massive quota turn that even seats in bus will be divided on basis of population, tv anchors, journalist for obc, journalist for UC. UC company, some OBC construction company. Theres no way down, identity politics has to be countered by brutal identity politics.
Which Partner is good enough to work at over here?
Batch size could be increased but that should not be done at such a rapid pace. He could have kept the batch size at 120 for 5 years then expanded it to 180. This way, quality of education would not have suffered so much. In the name of expanding and renovating the library, he has turned it into a cafe with sofas all around and hardly any fans. It's very difficult to study without a fan during the summer and unfortunately, the majority of the library does not have a fan, forget of AC.
Right now, he has closed down majority of the common spaces and the peace or learning environment is suffering to a large extent.
Considering i will be sitting for placements soon, I was wondering if law firms allow to shift offices in different cities.
Like if i interned in bangalore, could i take my ppo and joining in gurgaon?
If such th
Please give some suggestions.
Getting inside reputed good College is much more competitive.
I m 29 at this time. Plus I have no resources to pay for heavy fees of Mba and living expenses.
So, if implemented in NLUs, merits seats will shrink further. It's getting harder and harder for general category people....
she entered boys hostel- boys can have sex
she entered friends room- boys can have sex
and yes, if a boy said that he would be believed. there's a literal case on that in NALSAR. dont worry you still have societal privilege.
also try reporting a rape case to the police, you ll understand why only 4% rape cases are reported.
Does her entering the boys hostel give him the license to rape?
"infer" bro what? you are inferring consent? did you not study rape laws and consent?
Even if a boyfriend has sex with you when you re absolutely not onboard with you, it is rape.
"consensual sex, is that not how things had occurred" tujhe toh victim se bhi zyada pata hai bhai about a crime committed against her
And no, there was definitely truth in the story. Maybe the legal system and university support dumb boys like you, but not others, you guys should be publicly shamed for making such statements.
1) Read carefully what I have written. I do support the real victims and I did agree that people in the admin sometimes have biases against the victim.
2) I don't see any reason to not callout people who had admitted to filing a fake case during the trial, it happened in the case that I am referring to.
3) If it's as heinous an offense as rape, the victim should ideally file a police compliant rather than go for POSH.
There are a few good deals in Lajpat, just checked.
The accused is almost always acquitted and even if "convicted" some months of suspension. I know a real case of a girl being raped by a 5th year in a freshers party a few months ago. the guy later confessed to his friends as well. the girl is my best friend, so I know exactly what happened. I know how she was coerced not to file complaints and "settle" the issue. I heard the guy joking about it with his bros.
All I am saying is, dont comment anything and everything, without any context. I agree that false cases exist and they do affect the accused long after, but that does become a precedent to play the victim card in and put the blame on the women. How did you connect your story with the simple sentence.
"Heard some assault happened". Maybe sometimes victims dont lie? Maybe sometimes men rape women in these prestigious colleges. I dont think you need history lessons on the horrific cases in the fast few years.
Exam should be conducted in as many languages as possible so people belonging to different regions can join law schools.
Consortium should not charge the hefty amount they charge anyway, MHCET with a quarter of fee is conducting the exam without any problems and in a much better way.
The fact that they didn't even reduce the fee even after being aware that it is stopping people from appearing for exam just means they are greedy people and don't deserve to be incharge of it.
also speaking in english despite what you believe is not a proof of merit. How many district and subordinate courts function in english? this is where 95% of advocates and judges work.
Government institutes are meant for everyone, if you want to live in a bubble, where people roam around with macbooks, sipping starbucks and discussing indie english music you're welcome to join Jindal

Being from DU, I've already had the central university experience and honestly the administration is just frustrating that I no longer wish to pursue my Ph.D from here.
Professors and Seniors have advised me to try NLUs. As far as I have researched, only NLU Delhi is left, the rest are already finished with their Ph.D. admissions.
Does anyone have any experience with how the faculty, administration and overall Ph.D. experience is with NLU Delhi ?
Do they have a bias of admitting only NLU students or alumni ?
Do I need to have a stellar CV or will the admission purely be based on AILET & Interview?
Any information would be valuable. Thank You.
P.S. I can't afford to go abroad, due to financial and family constraints.
P.S.S. I want to make a career in academia, thus it's imperative I pursue a Ph.D.
People on LI are busy discussing watches, but this is the ultimate status symbol!
Ab CLAT ki band bajao.
After the moot was over, a certain finalist team was being dissed by each opponent they had faced wondering how they beat them and got to the finals. That team's performance in the finals was also very average with no clarity of law.
When we got our score sheet, I checked the judges in that surprising round of ours, and one of them was a professor from the same college that the finalist team was from, and another was an alumni.
The whole situation seemed like a sham at that point.
If you have no other option than this, then this is an opportunity and not a risk at all. If you get offer for A0 from some other firm in your tenure as a PL at D&D, you can leave at a short notice and join the other firm.
Questions are going to be difficult. They will ask the questions they know you might not know the answer to, just to assess what is your thinking process while addressing a query in real time.
