Expect changes in the CLAT 2024 itself, since GoI has already agreed for CLAT to be held in multiple languages.
There will be several stakeholders to hold the exam from the 2025 exam. Maybe we can see the consortium itself offering to hold it in different languages. But for now the 2024 exam will be held in English
Not only that, he wants the exam in regional languages too. So basically whatever little money NLUs make from CLAT exam fees will now go to the BCI. Plus, you will potentially have people who crack the exam in Hindi with zero knowledge of English studying alongside those who crack the CLAT in English, reading the likes of Dworkin, Holmes, Salmond etc. π
This is the problem with populism, anti-meritocracy and anti-elitism. We are headed towards disaster. Not everything should be mass and crass. The DM says that Hinduism and Sanatana Dharma are like dengue and should be eradicated. No honey, it's wokeism that is the real dengue.

Exam should be conducted in as many languages as possible so people belonging to different regions can join law schools.
Consortium should not charge the hefty amount they charge anyway, MHCET with a quarter of fee is conducting the exam without any problems and in a much better way.
The fact that they didn't even reduce the fee even after being aware that it is stopping people from appearing for exam just means they are greedy people and don't deserve to be incharge of it.
also speaking in english despite what you believe is not a proof of merit. How many district and subordinate courts function in english? this is where 95% of advocates and judges work.
Government institutes are meant for everyone, if you want to live in a bubble, where people roam around with macbooks, sipping starbucks and discussing indie english music you're welcome to join Jindal
Ab CLAT ki band bajao.
