Worked for me. Individual application though. JSA Bangalore office is really good, especially my team.
Heard that they appointed a new HR and revamped their internship application process. Glad I got done with my application before all these fancy changes.
JSA asked for it after confirmation, and SAM does too as well. Some firms like Saraf don't care about it, but never fake anything on your CV. It can end really bad.
Can you shed more light on the pay structure? Heard that JSA pays the least out of all tier-1 firms, is this true? Also, how exactly bill sharing works?
Can we not have these toxic comparisons all the time? Women across the country face severe sexism. Instead of collectively finding solutions, all we do is fight one another over "who's better."
The girls hostel warden stopped the main gate guards from letting anyone leave campus after 11, even for flights. Yesterday, two students had to leave for the airport but the guards were not bulging. After a lot of confrontation, the guards allowed them to leave on an extremely sexist condition of a boy accompanying a girl if she wants to leave late night. Apparently, there has been orders from the girls hostel warden that that a girl cannot leave for the airport at night unless a boy goes with her. We NEVER had such SEXIST rules in place before but lately NUJS has been all over the news thanks to admin tyranny. Almost every single day in the campus group one can witness a new controversy. No worder why protests have been taking place.
Personally, I don't like the entire grand viva scheme and most professors prefer the old system. There was no reason to manufacture this drama out of thin air but here we are.
It all started off with the VC introducing a new system of "Grand Viva" which wasn't taken well at all by most of GB. Because of this, he held negotiations with the ARC and agreed to a "negotiated" structure of 20 pre-informed viva questions. Following all deliberations, this was put to batch-wide vote.

However, then came in the faculty emails. All of them strongly disapproved the "negotiated grand viva" scheme. Personally, I think their concerns are totally legitimate. Makes no sense to make us mug up answers to particular questions. But the most surprising part of this entire saga was VC's mail berating faculty members who are opposed to his proposal.

Quoting him, "extremely unhappy with the attitude of teachers" like wow that's some really harsh words to say in public in front of all students

"discussed in the faculty meeting" Truly doubt that he mentioned all the details. Otherwise, we would have never seen these mail wars.

Talking about CAS promotion interviews was also a bit of a stretch. It really seems he is going after the faculty.

His final statement of "do whatever they think right in their judgment" perfectly indicates his new my way or highway attitude to everyone's legitimate concerns.

All of this is the backdrop of first post-covid protests in NUJS. More and more people are dissatisfied by his actions, not just limited to guards and students but now it extends to teaching faculty as well. At the same time, he keeps on doubling down.
Yeah now the VC himself is supporting this system. Instead of this manufactured drama, the old system was much better.
Personally know many who got KCO internship via individual application. Same with Saraf, but you need to be really lucky.
Not just me, but a clear majority holds such a sentiment and that has been proven by the 373 signatories of both the mails.
Yeah, a batchmate got in through contact but the person had to do all the assignments on HigherKnowledge. Other than maybe EP contacts, I know someone who got JSA internship solely through CEDE interview.
Avoid. It's a fairly small office which is rife with toxicity. Interns are treated outright horribly, and don't expect any stipend.
"Unlike you" Sorry but a lot of assumptions there. Also, how would something like locking the terrace help to bolster academic discipline? Or holding all vivas together?
Got one for myself, but some T1/T2 firms straight up refused to entertain individual applications because of such weird mid-month dates.
Okay, what's the nexus between academic standards and 1984-style restrictions like explanations for entering campus after 11, suddenly locking terrace, moral policing by guards and teachers alike and the list goes on. Mere deflection from actual steps that can be taken to rectify deteriorating "academic rigor." Not even a single constructive suggestion.
Some people are too keen to enforce Victorian notions of morality, surprisingly the same who cry about Westernization of younger generations.
We will break the locks and would never comply with tyranny. Deal with it, admin itself said that they would not put up locks anymore. So yeah, our methods were successful.
So many people signing on the emails clearly indicate that a supermajority of the GB is against such nonsensical restrictions. And of course you can say these things only behind the mask of anonymity on LI. You would never post it in the campus group.
Going to a professor's chambers on campus =/= interview/internships. She cannot arbitrarily make up her own rules when we have no such dress code on campus.
How is Touchstone Partners, Bangalore? Is it worth interning there? Also, what is their pay scale? Can't find much on other forums / posts about this firm.
JSA's process of taking interns is the most unique of all. Too many elimination rounds + written assignments.
Certainly not personal agenda when it involves the interests of all batches. Otherwise, so many people from both hostels wouldn't have signed up the representation. How are we taking advantage of any anonymity when all of us have openly voiced our concerns through appropriate channels?
Makes zero sense to lock the terrace. Moreover, everyone collectively took up the responsibility for breaking the locks. The registrar himself said that they won't put up locks again.
This year's academic calender itself is complete farce. With these weird mid-month dates, it was very hard for many people to secure good internships as most firms prefer full months. Surprised to see so many insanely pro-admin voices in LI, maybe because they could never say such things in the campus group with their real IDs.
