We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.
Note that what you find here is written and moderated by anonymous people on the internet.
Therefore everything you read here is very likely unverified, rumour, speculation and/or downright false.
In continuing to read anything here, you must therefore agree not to take anything you read here as factual and that you will exercise due caution, diligence and common sense before acting on any information you may come across here.
You also agree to report any inaccurate or malicious comments with the buttons. Moderators take action within 24 hours, as required and appropriate under law.
Our full terms and conditions apply too.
Do you solemnly agree to all of the above?
Also, showing a dating profile is a breach of privacy. These profiles are not public per se.
Disciplinary action is warranted.
The people who got in were all rounders who usually had good positions of leadership.
People who got in usually planned in advance to make it work.
Also going by Jindal students' own statements on LI that things in public spaces cannot be subject to an expectation of privacy, I wonder why students think that their dating profiles on public apps should be subject to any such expectation.

But who asked
I have been through this process and having considered it strongly, would advise you against it unless you are absolutely not cut out for law and want to do a MBA to switch fields.
Doing MBA from an IIM does not make financial sense if you are at a T1 Law firm. International MBA is a different scene.
Post MBA, your salary is going to be 25-30 LPA approx assuming you get into MBB Consulting. You will be making more money as a SA at a T1 law firm and the work life is just as bad. Also, as a lawyer, assuming you make it to IIM A/B/C your options are severely limited post MBA. We can forget about PE/Investment banking, since we'll have to compete with CA gold medallists and CFA holders who have worked on balance sheets for the last 10 years. Product management and tech consulting you will have to compete with IIT/NIT toppers who have spent 3+ years writing code and developing software. Our only options are strategy/esg/management consulting. And everyone wants the limited MBB jobs that are available. Not to mention that there are a fair chunk of SRCC/Stephen's grads in IIMs who have already spent a few years in consulting and are now eyeing a bigger post MBA position at MBB. Especially a year outside college, there is very little practical knowledge and big picture understanding that we have. My thought process was this - as a lawyer I can be at the top of my game but as a management grad, every day will be a struggle to catch up with my competition, who knows tech inside out, can do complex calculations in their head, and know financials inside out.

- The prof also allegedly "verbally abused" a girl student and used the word "chutiya" in class
- Conservative students allegedly denied permission to speak at Palestine event
- Hamas allegedly glorified at Palestine event
- Another prof allegedly criticised students for wearing kalawa and rings

Around 20% would have incomes of 25 lakhs to 50 lakhs
Rest below 25 lakhs.
Certainly, there are people from poor backgrounds, but they earn tons when they join the profession, so the fee is justified.

Any firm that has lost not one but three equity partners in less than 6 months is obviously not only on decline but in free fall to ruin. One of the EPs who left, Aarti, took the whole Chennai practice with her and the JMPs had to scramble to hire the first person who'd join them in Chennai (former JSA partner).
The thought process is to take the cheapest route to anything, cut costs everywhere except for EPs.
Maybe JSA EPs can tell the rest of us peasants why we had terrible increments this year and a month later all of you went to

"Chhatisgarh Judicial Service" where direct roll no. w/o marks published who all are selected for mains AND no individual score card & cutoff given.
Work at SAM in those specific areas with international transferability. Then shift to US biglaw after 4 or 5 years.
Just because someone can pay for a Congress ticket doesn't make them worthy of admiration.
there is no official diversity quota, however, you would find at oxbridge the pg cohorts are not too heavy from one country, they do this by looking at the sop and transcripts, there is an unofficial geography quota. Otherwise, it would just be Indians and Chinese.

The results are decided even before the exam is announced.
Try for UP judiciary, DJS, HJS, MPJ, RJS.
These are somewhat less corrupt.
There are usually 3 groups.
My classmates were children of Judges, hot shot lawyers, MPs, MLAs, ministers, senior bureaucrats, industrialists.
Others were children of bank employees, railways, MSME business, small practice, group B/C government job etc.
A lot of them were just getting by on scholarships and such assurances.
Throw some hints, maybe?
In this case the faculty member seems to be standing by their comments which is a good thing. Also good on JGU to support her unlike the cowards at Ashoka who ask their professors to resign instead of creating an atmosphere of academic freedom.
I do agree about toxic culture and bad treatment though
A.Male
B. Female
C. Non-binary
D. I use another term
E. I prefer not to say
The thing is, most LLM courses in commercial law are male dominated and colleges may look to set a cap. So, if we are heterosexual males, if we pick C,D or E, do we escape the cap? Or even earn diversity points? While choosing C could be considered dishonest, one could argue that D is acceptable (as there are dozens of gender possibilities). E would be 100% honest.
What are you guys doing?
On a lighter note, Dawood Ibrahim's connection with the Mahadev betting racket gave me déjà vu - of the pre 2014 kind!

Dude, if they got disqualified they did something wrong. She won the medals fair and square. Also, the work she is doing is a million times more important than what law firm partners are doing. FYI she has a good chance of getting a Lok Sabha ticket next year and you may well see her as an MP in a few months from now.
How of this is true? Tips on not getting stagnated in a place?
But what about others like me who genuinely are toppers, have good experiences at tier 2s, have great papers published, have done some other thing to prove skills like leadership and teamwork, but cannot afford the NLU fees and definitely cannot take on loans. Maybe give them an internship interview?
However I get it that you are quite busy with clients and juniors, but unfortunately your HR policy is basically only shortlisting people from the NLS NALSAR NUJS or the others. I have spoken to the HR at a tier 1 who literally told me it's an unspoken policy and others are "provisional lists"
