And if GPA is the only criterion why do they talk about so much about moots, publications, ADRs, etc.? Let's just all focus on one thing i.e., grades, and forget about holistic learning. Why should I slog my ass off for all these inconsequential things?
How is it able to pay its associates at pat with all the T1..given they have no work

Now the question is why are people so intolerant of views? People don't mind when regressive, controversial views come from the likes of J Sai Deepak? He has written two large volumes of that! And why don't we see more people from top national law schools coming out and showing the supreme court a mirror? Have NLUs become a hub for BJP and the RSS? Other controversial matters are pending before the supreme court such as electoral bonds and CAA. Will these cases also be decided in favor of Modi government? Public perception of independence is no longer important? If this continues, Modi is all set to win 2024 elections with a huge margin of votes with Ram Mandir inauguration in January!
Should I quit pursuing a job at a law firm since I am not going to be in the top 10 or 20 of my class anyway?
What’s your take on the new face of Trilegal where loyalty is not rewarded and instead, punished!??!!

"If there is one section of Indians who has benefited most from reservations, it is our politicians. They have perfected the art of creating vote banks based on caste, creed and tribe, and perfected the art of promising them the moon and the stars when elections come around. They have also learned the skill of using reservations in government schools and colleges to their own benefit by controlling who gets a reserved seat and who does not. "

Do y'all agree???
Your goal is to get a corporate job, you can get that even at HNLU as it is completely up to you. You never know what would be the situation in 2029, you may end up job less even in GNLU.
Rather stay at HNLU, do your grind their and hope for the best.
To me .... . .he seems like a Big Clown and full of himself . Bakaiti karwalo bas ....
Thanks in Advance
Know what you're getting into before making such a massive financial decision please.

If counselling doesn't give you a seat, you will get your money back.
If you get a lower NLU, you can still leave the place within 3 months and the university will have to return most of the fees other than around 5-10k. That's the UGC rule.
Keep an eye out on the websites of the NLUs that you want to get in, at least till August. Students often leave within a month and then NLUs need to fill those seats, often with urgency. Keep info and docs necessary for application handy for such scenarios.
If money permits, consider good private universities or older trad universities if you're not getting the top 10 NLUs.
Ashwath - Somewhere between 7-10 crores, might be more than that but the 20-30 crore figure as quoted in this site is simply not hard to believe.
Coming to WBNUJS - once it moves into the realms of forensic science, it is competing with NFSU. Being an INI, NFSU is and will remain far ahead. NFSU is a national university, far better funded, and the bellwether trend-setting institution. Nevertheless, it is good to see WBNUJS starting this program - at least it is more innovative than what KNLSIU has done by just increasing the intake of its BA-LLB program.
What we need is a system where good alumni from different NLUs continuously visit NUJS and give good guest lectures on commercial law. As for cyber law, we need lectures on commercially relevant aspects of cyber law, such as cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, IP, safe harbour and content moderation policies by platforms. We do NOT need sociology lectures disguised as cyber law lectures, on topics like online stalking of women, online trolling of transgenders, caste and internet access etc. Sorry, but that is not commercially relevant.

For proof- ask around your batch and seniors for placements at Nirma for the outgoing batch. They are extremely low (even PPOs), this is because of the downfall which Nirma has seen recently.
HNLU will offer you way more and shift if your aim is a job.
Also which bank /scheme would be best for me
Thank you for your response in advance.
I want to leave India asap due to personal reasons and would love to hear about your opinions on the best path out. I know that vacation schemes are a popular route but they're mostly confined to 5-6 people from the top 5 NLUs.
Would love to hear your opinion!
The new course is being taught by same Professors as BALLB. The quality of teaching is equally good. Some students from upper middle class families (like me) find the environment bit tough due to different building and hostel than the campus. Even the dorms in the BALB campus, some people find it difficult to stay there, but it is a lot of fun after some time. Last year, no one knew about this course, so the cutoff went very low. But this year, the cutoff is likely to go much much lower. Check the syllabus on the web, the BA subjects are replaced by a few forensics subjects.
One of the guys told me that this was just supposed to be a troll it seems, but being put online on the web and NUJS have 4th all india ranking, it caused lots of people to drop the option.
My elder sister who works in HR tells me that companies mostly go by university ranking and your LLB score to offer packages.
But be warned, You need to have ability to pass the reasonably tough exams that NUJS has. If you do not have the ability, better choose a regular institute as per your regular ranking and go with BALLB, as there is a difference in difficulty of exams you will face.
Suppose if I wanted to do Judiciary and I'm sure of it without a doubt, then it might not make much sense to waste an year's progress for the NLU tag and a better alumni base. But suppose if I want to go for corporate, then it'll make a lot of sense since HNLU has good placements, it conducts Day Zero, it is an obvious choice, and that one year wouldn't mean much if you get the job.
If we consider a more realistic possibility of you not being sure about what to do (which is a better way to go about it), then all around HNLU still offers a much better life. It'll keep your avenues open to pursue whatever you wish, contingent on your efforts.
You'll get a better campus, better food (yes, I've heard that the food isn't that great in most of Nirma's PGs), a better hostel, better alumni, better connections, and presumably a better career. Make the decision owing to your circumstances, and I can assure you that the most you'll lose if you choose HNLU is an year, nothing more than that :)
Best of luck deciding on whatever you choose, keep us updated!
Pathetic pay is obviously one of the reasons but people stick in places with lower pay for longer period.
Hope you get the wind.
You should also get MNLUM*, RMLNLU and HNLU.
Work life balance: No, but if you like the work and want to explore the diversity of TMT you'll love working even on weekends like I do.
Worst Part: A lot of grunt work.
Best Part: Associates - DJ, PS, AP, etc are great to work with. Don't know about the partners and PAs as haven't had an opportunity to work with them.
