We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

LW Twitter claim: Why so late to file an FIR? Sajjan was praising Modi a lot. Jindals shifted their loyalty from Cong to BJP cuz of this. It's connected.
But no one is looking at the actual merits of the complaint and the content of the court order. 😔
Dono ke vichar ek jaise hi hai.
You know who will win.
Right wing :(
Anyway, let's look at the law now. An FIR does not mean guilt and can be registered even in a false case. What matters is the evidence uncovered during investigation. She makes allegations about WhatsApp evidence and stating at a certain hotel. She needs to produce those alleged messages and prove through eyewitnesses that they allegedly stayed at the hotel, to establish prima facie that the two knew one another. If she can't, then the case collapses completely. If she can, still no evidence of criminality. A lot of further evidence needed.
So let's not believe Twitter and media reports blindly.

I am a 21-year-old guy and thinking of prepping for CLAT 25 and if successful in it will be starting law at 22. So, I want to know whether I will be too old for the course.
So please remove the trollish tag. It will help me get some confidence. Thank you.
This is actually a very good format. Been using it since. 3rd years was recommend to me by a friend during an internship.
What will make of the other cows in the mother’s barn?
Finally, I would prefer if law students don't comment here, unless you would like to share something that your parents or older cousins do. For example, collecting Blackpink or BTS gear is not a hobby I'd be interested in, but if your mom or dad have any other collecting hobby, I'd be interested to hear it.
Thanks.
26th-29th December was even marked as holidays in the timesheet, but now, it looks like they've cancelled it?
Any idea what is going on?
I had already booked tickets based on their email, but now I don't know whether I should cancel it
It could be helpful for me
IndiaCorpLaw is the only good choice
Bangalore is more of a cosmopolitan city. You don’t need to know Hindi. You don’t need to know Kannada. And you can still get by. Chennai is a very nice city, and honestly, you don’t need to know Tamil to survive in Chennai as much as you need Hindi to survive in Delhi, but corporate law firms are just up and coming. AZB, SAM and KCO have decent practices there. But pay is lower than even Bangalore. So.
Why criticism of a country becomes criticism of a community?
I have a LLM from an NLU as well. However I completely accept that I'm not an alumni as much as LLB grads are. 5 years vs 1/2 years is a big difference.
Moreover, before entering NLU, I didn't go for the tag, I went to learn. I went to see how the pedagogy and methods are different between NLUs and Non-NLUs, so that tomorrow when I teach my students I can bring the best of both the worlds. Do that. You've been someone who's seen both kinds of institutions and people in them, take the best of it and move forward.
Stop being obsessed with the past. You got in, you studied, you passed out. Focus on the present work and future. Whether llb or LLM , now people will judge you from your work, not the institution you come from.
Very good app though. Smoother than liquid text

1) 17-18
2) 19-20
3) 21-22
4) 23 and above
Please also mention the NLU name.
Thanks in advance.
Personally, I believe the Freedom of speech in NLS is at zero now! How can you censure someone for their nationality? It's similar to how Hitler killed all the Jews because of their identity. This is a non-violent version of Nazism where they are canceling all Israelis/Jews. I hope NLS recovers from this cancer soon.
Ideally keep tracking websites like Sarkari Naukri and you will notice that there are hundreds of such vacancies that keep coming which no one cares about. People will apply but almost 90% do not turn up for exams.
Ironically, this female associate used to give lecture on professionalism while flashing her cleavage at max.
What the guy said is that elections in India are all about money and funding. He said issues like caste, corruption, religion etc don’t matter as much as the media would like us to believe. Maybe a handful of MPs will be elected solely on the basis of Hindu or Muslim or caste identity, but overwhelmingly the MP with the most funds is the one who will win a seat. Now, the source of funds is the party. The guy said all the top businessmen in India and his clients are pouring money into the BJP, including traditional pro-Congress business houses. As a result, the Congress and INDIA alliance parties are mostly relying on small-time businessmen, like the liquor dealer recently caught with 400 crore. Even here, the guy said that 400 crore is apparently peanuts for election funding. Meanwhile, certain regional parties like the TMC or RJD or JMM rely a lot on organised crime for their funds, like the coal mafia, sand mafia, bootlegging mafia etc. But the BJP’s funds are still much larger. The guy said that the markets have already factored in Modi’s win, so the Sensex won’t rise all that much in June as the win won’t be a surprise.
Just sharing what I heard. I’m just a small ant in front of such big lawyers. Maybe he is wrong and is overestimating the importance of money. Maybe election experts who come on TV and discuss caste calculations are the ones who are right. Maybe Congress will win after all. 🤷♂️
Also during PiS rule from 2015 to 2023, Poverty in Poland has came down to 15% in 2022 from 30% in 2015 and economy is growing at a pretty good rate, so yeah research before speaking, period.
When I use the word "pursuing", I refer to individuals who are seriously trying their hand at law firms by doing internships, cold e-mailing partners months in advance, maintaining a decent CGPA and writing corporate law articles.
The problem with the complaint of RML having no "corporate culture" is that it is most often made by the 50-80 people who reach their 4th or 5th year after having not placed any emphasis on the above-mentioned factors during their formative years of college. If the argument is that other people in T1 colleges are just handed jobs without doing anything but the same is not the case in RML; then there may be some merit to that argument (I am not aware of the status of students in other colleges); but if the argument is that even those who work hard towards a corporate career in RML are not afforded an opportunity, I would disagree.
Currently working in a corp firm and ex-RML.

Given that you’re from SLS N, you need to put double the effort than usual if you want a good shot in the legal world.

Tax Issues in M&A Transactions
Most prestigious - Indiacorplaw, NLS BLR, IRCCL
Runners up - NLIU CBCL, NLU-D CBFL, Taxmann
Bronze - TCCLR, JGLS Blog, NLU-J etc,
Since I didn't recieve any answers last time, I am reposting this.
I am looking for reference books which are one stop solution for understanding corporate restructuring in India. Ideally, the book should contain not only the methods like M&A, but also the tools like CCPS etc. Thanks for your inputs.
P.s. I hope someone answers this. I see everyone interacting with useless posts like the one where the Indus Law Intern was made to clean the table (tbt, I too interacted with that post) and JSA-Luthra merger, but a lot of important posts are left un-interacted. Grow up people, and let's help each other improve :/
Type Harvard OCS resume in Google and find resume and action verbs.
As a female law student, this is enough to send shudders as if a judge faces this, we are only to imagine what an ordinary girl in the field of law would face...
Would any female partner/ judicial officer/ associate be willing to share insights in law firms and litigation.
you can use any throwaway/ secondary mail
Even if you get the base model- it is more than sufficient for note taking, reading, movies, online meetings.
For M&A Tax NDA Newsletter is very good. could not find any on the abovementioned.
Thanks in advance!
1) HSB pays 45K for A0's and not 25k. And for the record, Chennai's cost of living is pretty reasonable thanks to the excellent transport connectivity and the spread out city, compared to the island shaped city of Mumbai.
2) Partnership - boss, national level firms are just blossoming in Chennai. If you have even basic GK, you'll know that Tamil Nadu is second most developed and industrialized state after Maharashtra. And Chennai as a Metropolitan city is the IT as well as automobile hub of India. It has world class port too and all these have majorly attracted industries. If you know, Apple has setup their iPhone manufacturing unit near Chennai, and now Corning and UPS are entering too. All these means more business for corporate lawyers.
2) conservative culture - like seriously? Chennai is one of the most progressive and earliest Cosmopolitan cities. Don't know which cave you live in.
3) hostile to outsiders - lol man, there is a big community of marwadis, Rajasthanis, sindhis, bora muslims, apart from malayalis and Telugu community settled in Chennai for generations. Just because there are less north Indians you find it less conservative? Come on man, the Hindi belt doesn't represent whole of India to constitute diversity. There is a diverse crowd of South Indians from all 5 states as well as north Indian crowd. Just because we don't speak Hindi in our streets doesn't make Chennai lesser in diversity.
4) hostile to outsiders - I'm not sure what you're speaking of. Unless you to insult someone or tall trash about Tamil, no one's really going to trouble you.
5) business happens through local connection - where does it work the other way? You think local connections doesn't rule the roost in other cities? My god even locals rule it in NYC, forget Chennai!
There is a deep rooted sense of entitlement with North Indians that only Mumbai and Delhi are the mega cities in India. Maybe a bit of education and commercial awareness would make you understand that Madras was always a big thing and will continue to be a big thing in India's economical landscape
Couldn't find it.
Please don't start this meritocracy bull*hit.
Would you say an MD from AIIMS is less meritorious than an MBBS?
The only logical reason I feel llm folks aren't being recognized as alumni is they have minimal connection with others (BA LLB/ PhD).
They are in the college only for a year, they don't fraternize with others, so there is no connection.
But, like I said, we need your pink hair, nose piercing and all of it. The more crazy you are, the better we do. Like Trump kicking Biden's ass now.
In fact, but for the crazy liberals, the US probably would have never elected a Trump.
Avoid all three of them if
->Your family is not earning above 10L a year.
->If you are looking for campus placement.
Only if you want to remain with the crowd which is academically richer and desires for NLU tag than go ahead with Mumbai>Nagpur>Aurangabad.
If on-campus corp placement is what you are looking for then blindly go ahead with ILS Pune and throw these all three NLUs in dustbin .All of the inhouse role in Pune is dominated by ILS Grads. (Further ILS would soon get university status) But i think fund crunch would remain a const problem with ILS. But then in long run the brands of these NLUs is bound to grow. Maharashtra Advantage .
GLC is Good for someone who is ideally from Mumbai or nearby places because when it comes financially speaking the cost of the degree would touch 2 lakhs+. If you could milk the opportunity of running an internship then only go forward with GLC.
Campus need not be an essential priority but when it comes to campus go with Nagpur>Arungabad>ILS(Rented out all of their campus free/open space for fund raising>NLU Mumbai.[Hiring Two building is not Campus]>GLC.
When it comes to good intra-culture then go with
NLU Mumbai>GLC>ILS>NLU Nagpur>NLU Arungabad.
When it comes to good diversity in crowd all of these colleges are heavily dominated by Maharashtrians but then the sequence would be Mumbai>Nagpur>Arungabad>ILS OR GLC (Same)cuz its 15% AIR only through MH-CET.
Pay, culture, internship and ppo chances.
