Hi there, I am a student of tier 2 NLU. Just got my results for third year exams and I have four backs in total. My CGPA is now below 6 out of 10. I always wanted to go for litigation. Will a decent senior (let's say he pays 25-30k) take me in his chamber? Maybe by the time i graduate I CGPA will be 7 at max.

Leading a balanced life is important. Work, family, friends, workout, mindfulness. I understand this doesn't always happen for us, but everytime you weer away from these, keep trying to steer back. I've been practicing for several years now, and I too need to keep steering back. If the depression is too much, seek help.

That was something said by the VC just to appease the then traumatised 2nd and 3rd year NUJS students who had no idea about the 60 more people adding to the placement competition. With time, that extremism has started dying down and the incoming batches even jointly support the idea of a single placement cell.

BA or bsc at the end of the day its nujs, and if a bsc student doesnt get the placement, its a stain on nujs's collective name. So they will go with the common cell only.

Hey. I’m a 2022 law graduate and have been preparing for judiciary exams since the last two years. Haven’t been able to clear even prelims of these examinations and I have no litigation background and experience at all to build my future on. As Judiciary Exams are not consistent and mostly happen after 1 or 2 years, and age is not in my favour as I’m already 27, I have no choice but to litigate. But I have no contacts, no senior who can help me or guide me. I haven’t done my masters and mostly the LLM exams will be held in december this year so won’t be able to do it before december this year.

What should I do?

Our university has shaped the mooting culture in a very positive way by reimbursing mooting expenses, regardless of whether one is eliminated in domestic moots, since its inception in 2016. Other NLUs mostly reimburse only if certain criteria are met, which is non-existent in our beloved Santara Law University.

This policy remained unchanged even during the COVID-19 pandemic and financial shortages under the Udhhav regime (who didn't even attend the inaugural ceremony of the academic block, for obvious reasons, since NLUs have been a pet project of the BJP-led government in the state).

It's true that the financial situation is not as rosy as it should be, but even then, the policy remains intact. Though the reimbursement process is cumbersome and might take a semester to complete, it's still beneficial as it doesn't let costs become a barrier for the underprivileged.

Speaking specifically about these individuals and the moot, if you want to help, then do so; if not, at least please refrain from making them feel otherwise by passing unwarranted comments.

Times can be grim or rosy. If you can't support, then please refrain from making demoralizing remarks.

So last year i had interview for a position in a T-2 firm. The interview was bad, i still regret saying a few things. I really admire the work done by the team and i believe that i will be a good fit in the team. Now a year later, i am in a better position to give a better interview. but i am nervous that the partner will not give a second chance to interview after i bombed the first interview.

Should i apply to that team again or not? Do partners give the candidate a second chance after a bad interview a year ago?

Do you know if I am searching for 5 Articles/50 Articles/500 Articles? Fact is a Fact! IIULER doesn't have that. Why are you comparing NLUs with IIULER?

1) IIULER is not a National University. It's is not state-funded and is just a Private University meanwhile NLUs are State-funded Universities by each State Government. So, for NLUs, in order to install those facilities, government must to approve adequate funds. While IIULER being a Private University, they can do it by the themselves!

2) You are stating most NLUs don't have facilities for the initials 10 Years (Remember, it's not an appreciation, it's their fault!)

3) BITS Law School, Mumbai was established in the same year as that of IIULER, that is in 2022 - Fees is less than IIULER - Then also, BITS Law School Mumbai has all the facilities (both physical and remote access) - Do you have any stake on that?

4) The Off-Campuses of Symbiosis International, CHRIST University etc are somewhat newly established - They are also having all the facilities - Then why IIULER with India's greates fee structure can't provide these things?

5) Finally, even if I search for 5 Articles or 500 Articles, it's not a matter for your concern!

6) I am not having vacation - Because I am not a Student, I am a Faculty and a Post-Doctoral fellow. So, dear student, you may better utilize your vacation properly!

What were you hoping to achieve with this comment? People in law firms spend 12-14 hours a day cooped up with each other, sleeping around is exceedingly common since dating outside isn't really viable for most part of the year. As long as it was consensual and you can handle it like typical mature adults in a similar situation (pretend it didn't happen and then repeat this behaviour every time you have alcohol past 9 pm), why bring the partner into this?

Hypothetically for a student if all firms PPO options were open, of all the firms which firms and teams would be the best to start at in the above area of law including GC, Delhi and Mumbai included:

Hi, I'm a current final year student at this college. I have taken an oath that, for as long as I live, I will never, and I mean NEVER, recommend anyone to join this college. In fact, there's no use in considering any other SLS other than SLS Pune.

Please don't join SLS Nagpur if you want to secure your future. There is no ROI, the Director is Delusional, the teaching staff keeps on changing every few months, most of them teach multiple subjects at once and have 0 knowledge of any of them, and the academic coordinators think of themselves as some kind of high-level people and are extremely unhelpful.

Seriously, you can do a lot better than SLS Nagpur. Save yourself the embarrassment and you will be thanking me in the future for sure.

Upcoming A0 and would be joining the team. What is the matter ? Is the team underperforming? What kind of individuals they are ? I had a counter offer from Luthra Delhi and I am sure I can convince the team to take me again so is sj and sg a good team to work for ? more interested in sg as sj would not be daily interacting for work

As per my totally unreliable calculations, NLS made about 15 crore from just one cycle of admission. When all the batches are at full capacity, I estimate that they can make about 70-80 crores per year. Which is a nice amount.

It has the potential to turn this place into a degree mill, but that's a different issue.

My main concerns are the cost of the course and time period. The Nalsar insolvency LLM course is around 15 lakhs, it is very new and it is not based on CLAT marks. I am also not sure if the placements for all the Llm students would be same or the placements for general llm are different from this course. Is a LLM course from Nalsar worth the time and money?

Lately, I am seeing that there are several niche areas in law that have immense potential if someone wants to specialize in them and join diverse industry areas not ust limited to laew firms, such as market regulators, policy think tanks, intermediaries and so on. Unfortunately, such programmes are very few and some have closed down in the past - for example LLM in securities law from NISM, Mumbai was one such unique programme that had excellent curriculum and decent placements. One more such programme is graduate insolvency programme from IICA, Manesar. However, there are doubts over it's ROI considering the programme fees is high.

What are such other LLM, pg and short/long term programme you can think of that have good potential to help graduates specialize in a particular domain.

Viplaw is Crawford's Capital Markets partner (he works directly under Sanjay Aasher, MP - Crawford). Due to Sanjay's backing, he has been doing solid mainboard IPO work along with QIPs and DCM deals. Seems like a chill guy with a 5 person team, not sure about the pay and culture though.

Except top 3 NLUs, your success and accolades in any other college laregly depends upon ur social status and connections. Law ins't as such a field of erudites. Hey! So the thing is, I have screwed up my CGPA due to not studying enough in 1st year. I am from SLS Pune and the toppers who sometimes add their CGPAs on linkedin have atleast 8 above and maximum 8.5ish out of 10. The thing is, If I score consistently 8.5 GPA in every sem from now onwards, my CGPA will be 8. So I am in a kind of tough situation and have the questions whether I'll be able to get an internship at a T1 law firm? Whether I'll be able to work in a T1 law firm? With a CGPA of let's say, 7.7ish? Please be kind and help the human out.

Private Universities must be transparent and accountable. They cannot govern or administer according to their whims and fancies. Even though, something is Private, it must be stipulated to the UGC guidelines

I gave CLAT for the first time with my 12th grade in 2021 and got a 6k rank then I took a drop year for CLAT 2022 (I turned 18) and got a rank that was fetching me NLUJA Assam. I was unaware about vacant seats and the scope in colleges like nirma and symbiosis and hence decided to give CUET. I managed to crack it and got SRCC (had pcmb in 12th). Things were good there but not studying the course I badly wanted to was bugging me so I decided to give CLAT again (I was 19) but got a miserable 10k rank. I lost count of attempts, I stopped caring about the numbers. I grew anxious and impatient with mental health issues and decided to again give CLAT while being in second year at SRCC and finally managed to get into NALSAR.

Now I have shifted to the campus, things seem finally to be at place and I'm at peace too but my 20 year old ass is making me feel like an old sloth. The majority here has cracked CLAT in one single go and is barely 17-18. I feel like an outcast already. People have been nice to me in general but it was already in my head and recently a girl said she's in shock that someone who's 20 is in first year.

Basically I'm insecure about my age and am seeking some kind of validation that it's okay.

I am so sorry you were put through this! You were objectified by someone who should have treated you as a young professional and then your fellow interns were shitty enough to attack you instead of holding the powerful man responsible. This is horrible all round. Please know that none of this has any bearing on your work. You obviously have integrity and are honest with yourself.

The problem with these situations is that the people who are jealous of you (stupidly, because you're not asking to be treated like an object) will egg you on to get confrontational. That is not your responsibility. Your responsibility is to protect yourself. Be pleasant. Make very good excuses and stay out of his orbit. Ideally, you do not want him to get angry at you but you also don't want him to take liberties with you. Focus on your work and try to do it well. Don't undermine your own intellect or labor to make jealous people feel better. His attentions are not your fault. He may be favoring you for the wrong reasons but that's on him. You don't need to tell people you are worthless because you are not.

The world is full of powerful men who treat women like playthings and people who then blame women. This was a horrible experience but if you learn to trust your instincts and protect yourself, it will help you in the future. Sometimes the only way is to beg another safer senior for work or to quit citing a health or familty problem. But those are last ditch measures. If you can manage the situation and get through it without harming yourself, then that is a good way.

Bro quit without even thinking. Better start at a T2 or 3 than indus. There are only a partner and his PA who came from JSA and others have moved already, the two aren't the most known names regardless and may still end up leaving. You'll be stuck still time to find better place. All the best pal

Hi folks - is it possible to have some form of filter which can weed out the college chats/ conversations and firm chats. I really really don't care about which are good places in college to make out, or which college is better from the 43 options I have, or intra batch wars.

Two fold questions as a final year student who is already placed but comes off financially tight family and needs to earn some side money to sustain:

1) what's the best paying internship available for pvt law college student (bagged a T2 PPO so decent cv and knowledge) including in house/ firms or any startup. Like stipend north campus bcom students get meaning more than standard 10-20 thousand in law firms.

2) if 1 is not available in public domain then what are good online internships which pay well, my skills are dd and researching with GC teams. long term online internships which take genuine applicants and not just reference

Basically the govt. and TISS admin arm twisted the Tata Education Trust to keep funding projects that had been previously scheduled to conclude by June 30, 2024. The govt doesn't want to put in its share and instead wants Tatas to shoulder the fin burden while giving them very little control in management and day-to-day admin.

Tatas also don't want bad press. It will be interesting to know how TERI is running without govt financing and overt control. It used to be the Tata Energy Research Institute. Then the Tatas were eased out of naming rights by a powerful Delhi lobby.

NLUs already pay shit to their army of contractual teach etc. Instead consider what central univs will be doing to their contractual employees.

Be thankful that we have so many advantages that our parents did not have. Never in your wildest dreams do you want to swap your college life with your parents College life.

The fees for the incoming batch have been raised to 4 lacs, and still, students are desperate to join NLUN. There is a complete crisis there with respect to the lack of faculty (experienced more so), shitty mess, hostels, sports facilities, no placement, fucked up databases and library and fucked up curriculum just focusing on academics.

Literally same situation bruh. Graduated this year but no area of specialization still. Feeling very confused and hopeless. Only jobs I'm eligible for are bpo and sales job. Family and relatives have started mocking and comparing. People on linkedin never reply to dm's. I'm also thinking of taking non voice processes job and prepare for competitive exams.. don't know how it will pan out
