It seems like a veiled way of asking how to deal with T-1 fomo.
Please help guys have an offer.
Obviously reminiscent of Narayan Murthy and Bhavish Agarwal. But beyond IT does this attitude exist in Lala law firms as well? Answer is YES. But unfortunately jobs in the legal space are limited, compared with IT.

According to KD's law, irrespective of a stay order from court, just because regime or regime-friendly folks have filed an appeal, that itself is a "stay order".
Having said that, since you are not from Mumbai, may I suggest you look at boutique corporate law firms in other cities? Even if you get paid 30k (which is the least they'd do in Delhi), it would suffice you in the early stages of your career if you can do crazy cost cutting. Earn relevant PQE and then start applying at bigger law firms.
NKC isn't gone yet, he will be seeking an extension at least till he turns 70, like he did 6 months back. KD and KB don't see eye to eye anymore, though SB is in KD's fold, because of the connection that both of them share with the Nephew.
DYC appointing a good academic like Sudhir to the panel was not very likely to happen in any case, since DYC has demonstrably abandoned all his duties as a Chancellor towards the university ever since he assumed the CJI office. He goes to even inaugurate buildings in other law schools or to give lectures, but has never visited NUJS nor allowed for convocation to be held for the last 4 batches.
SJA is unlikely to raise any squawk this time. They have been thoroughly coopted by NKC, who will want one of his acolytes from the NE or IIT to assume office if his term doesn't get extended. That way, the successor can keep burying all the dirt just like NKC did about his predecessors.
The current Regi is an NKC man, but he will do whatever is asked of him by powers to be. The ex Regi who was 'sacked' once is trying to stage a comeback once again, by cosying up to senior faculty now.
The state government will keep vetoing any really capable person from holding the post. Faizu may try his luck, as will some of the current VCs elsewhere whose tenures are ending too.
The alum are completely useless in this matter as they never even tried to build a collective voice to help the university, unlike the NLS group.
As you rightly mentioned, interesting times ahead indeed!
And the worrying part is that Indians are anyway genetically more vulnerable to heart attacks. Then on top of that we work in high-stress jobs.

Depends on who you ask. Large sections of Bengal will judge him based on what he does with the RG Kar case. Also what explains his complete inactivity after swooping in to take over the case wherein Justice AG complained in writing (in an order) against alleged strong-arm tactics of Justice SS? Interestingly, Justice SS and Justice AS have not refuted the claims of Justice AG.
Justice SS is a big supporter of NKC and the Regime. Also thick with KD and DD.
- The CJI will delegate it to a younger SC judge
- The younger SC judge will delegate it to his intern and say: āJust put my stamp on anyone the Bengal govt chooses. No objections from me as long as the nominee is a human and not an orangutan living in the forest.ā
- NUJS gets a VC in the Bhat-Talukdar-NKC tradition, rather than the Menon-Chimni-MPS tradition.
Same thing almost happened to NLSIU, but the students went on strike and got Sudhir. The chances of a student strike at NUJS are nil.
Speaking for myself, Iād personally prefer an orangutan. They are very sweet, gentle and intelligent creatures. I can spend hours watching YouTube videos of them. You guys should also check out the recent Netflix documentary on orangutans.
Actually no, coolies will actually do their job competently and on time so maybe wrong comparison.
DSK, Delhi - Aparajit's M&A team
BTG, Mumbai - Pool system in M&A
This is how I'd rank it.
Note: When listing please make separate ones for Indian and international ones (US, UK, Singapore)
Even on leaves which are granted, you are made to work as if its a working day and leaves are approved subject to the condition that you are available to work (not just available on text/call but work also if required) - the reason being given for this is that we have an unlimited leave policy and you can avail more leaves later- which is an endless loop.
The unlimited leave policy is a big scam.
PLEASEEE
This is a myth which has been surviving for long. Time to burst the bubble. Culture at Indus is as bad as any other tier-1 firm.
My situation is as follows:
1. Let's say I join a company and work in their corporate legal department.
2.
3. I take the Bar exam solely for the purpose of qualifying for government exams, like IBPS, as they require registration with the Bar.
4.
5. I do not quit within six months of getting my license and continue working in the company, then take the IBPS exam at the end of next year.
6.
Will this cause any issues? **Please do not suggest joining litigation, as my bills wonāt be paid by magic.
what is the solution here?**
There, solved your riddle how a firm with great culture can also splinter.
Fourthly, if the SC judges including the CJI were ever truly interested then VCs and their cabals wouldn't have been allowed to create fiefdoms, with/out state support. Everybody in the EC has always been complicit and it is unlikely to change unless the students are smart about their demands and enforcement.
I think DYC made his stance very clear by remaining silent on the convocation issue. Focus on the SC and HC judges in the EC. Why are they crooning with AG and other regime friendly members?
NAAC has already been "managed". That "success" will be shown to support extension of NKC till 2026. The other reason will be upcoming BCI affiliation renewal, construction works in the academic block and other housekeeping stuff.
But the real reason that NKC will be given extension is the long-planned construction in the sliver of land that NUJS got from KMDA. That project is valued at Rs 100 crores+ and we all know how cost overruns happen. This is the same project that PIB, SAK and AG desperately wanted okayed. But SJA completely derailed it.
There is a reason that NKC wanted SAK back. Dig deeper. Follow the money.
As the saying goes: follow the drugs, you get the dealer, follow the money and you never know how high it goes.
Pls stop this. File PIL.
(1) Equity ā I hear that they wanted partners to pay into equity initially ā not sure if that is true. If yes, may explain some departures ā this is not market.
(2) Partner Compensation ā From my sources, I hear that the targets have been hikes massively, and bonuses were delayed/withheld. Can someone confirm?
(3) What kind of platform does the firm provide its partners? I believe this is the key issue (along with (2)). The targets going up, and no cross-sell from the firm/founders (especially the Delhi ones) will always lead rainmaking partners to look for greener pastures.
Itās more of the partners leaving with their team rather than the associates attrition rate
So it could be for better pay and such incentives.
I have heard that their cap markets team was toxic but idk which office and itās not my first hand experience, something others have told me
Some batchmates told that post Mr. Bajaj's exit, AA and SRK have handled his portfolio and firm's, quite well, inspite of having their own clients. Any opinions on this duo?
18.5 for mumbai
Letās also stick to the subject of the post - SAM Mumbai - International Arbitration. Not SAM v. KCO or SAM v. Kartikey.
The BCIs powers to regulate the legal profession and legal education are separate and distinct. They cannot use one set of powers in the other field.
āI have all the confidence and esteem.ā
Get yourself a training contract or work it off in a good recognisable firm for another few years and then try moving. (Preferably with SQE)
I am from T-3 law school but my CV is fantastic. Great scores and remarkable extracurricular feats.
How can I make it to HSF?
PS: Trolls please don't stay away. Bring it on, let it out. I have all the confidence and esteem.
Just trying to understand how did this happen because once Indus was doing amazing and was a serious contender of being next T-1 with good pay and among the best working environment out there. Why did it start to lose talent?
Started at 25K per month (in house)
Currently at 1.75L per month at a Tier 1
