We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Look forward to hearing from Partners (all kinds, all firms, all Tiers) including any interesting anecdotes / memorable meetings. Anything that you can share. Of course, no need to give up your trade secrets ;)
Someone (another Partner, although seasoned) recently told me an interesting (but very simple) hand shake technique. So I thought of doing this thread.
Another suggestion is that you should never ignore existing clients. Maintaining relationships is as important as making new ones.
If already not connected, connect on WhatsApp and LinkedIn.
After the meeting, review the identified action points.
During the meeting, try to take something tangible – cards, firm profile, practice profile etc.
Extend an invitation that you’d like them to introduce the client to other partners in the firm.
Lastly, based on their interests and area, try to introduce them to relevant service providers - such as investors, investment bankers, sponsors etc.
Instead of this I actually go with the view of making a friend who's gonna ask maybe 10 legal questions and maybe months later would actually require my help in enforcing one of those.
