Wouldn't it be better if I try to move earlier? They'd anyways give me A0 position even if I go in 2 years, wouldn't they?
When I exited after a few months, I told the HR first, then my reporting partner after the HR asked me to talk to the reporting partner.
Partner partner karne wale kaise ucchal rahe hai batao. Ghodo ki race mein gadhe bhi daud rahe hai
So what? Why would someone's opinion matter if I didn't want to work for them anyway? It wouldn't affect my prep right?
It still has. No big firm gives you unlimited leaves and no questions asked work from home. They WFO for 3 days a week only. Then there are lala law firms which have sandwich leave policy. :(
UPSC is demanding unwavering dedication, seriousness, and determination. You, however, have only just stepped into the corporate world, and your decision to leave after a few months might give the impression that you lack these key traits.
What an absolutely incredible and patient response! Thank you so much!
Why doyou children not do your research before applying instead of after acceptance?
ILO and FAO as well. Plus some non UN but similar bodies like ICC and World Bank.
Yes. Many PhD students do research assistance for their guides/supervisors and jointly publish papers too.
Good point.

Let’s also stick to the subject of the post - SAM Mumbai - International Arbitration. Not SAM v. KCO or SAM v. Kartikey.
You thinkthe US Embassy has the time to do forensic analysis of random students'social media posts? They're focused on stopping potential terrorists, people smugglers and drug smugglers. Not gasbags.
Do people write shit like this just to get trolled?

“I have all the confidence and esteem.”

Get yourself a training contract or work it off in a good recognisable firm for another few years and then try moving. (Preferably with SQE)
Yeah, my gut feeling says the same thing. Don't know why this guy allowed me in the chamber with open arms when he had no work for me. It seems very dubious, his behaviour towards me.
He sings praises for his son and doesn't give a shit about other associates. I don't think so he'll ever give me importance to him. Looks like I have to leave.
Could you tell me why are you counting law firm coolies? They are not lawyers to begin with. I am a practising advocate and I work for around 13 hours daily counting court and around 10 hours on off days.
2024 batch got the same as 2023 batch which is 1,21,500 per month post deduction
That is a very convenient way to put it...the larger issue was institution level indifference and non-inclusivity.
Deloitte is currently offering 11 LPA to freshers (Tax Litigation team)
2021 Grad

Started at 25K per month (in house)

Currently at 1.75L per month at a Tier 1
Yes, I know both NLU and non NLU grads to have worked at the UN including UNESCO, UNICEF and UNHCR.
A0-Cap Marks- the big acquired team- average is 12-13 hours per day with no weekends for last 1-1.5 month except one Sunday.
55 lakhs seems like an achievable amount for someone with 12 years of practice. You practice where?
Litigation to tier1? ofcourse... Can I ask for how long you worked in chamber and then made a switch to tier1?
It's the sad truth which you have to accept, people earning such amount have better ways to waste their time. Hope someday I too will earn enough so I dont have to waste my time here.
Joined as a SA. The firm is great but I have joined the wrong team. I was always confident about my work but it has been shattered in the last 3 months. Will it be easy to move laterally after quitting in 3 months?
The work culture is supposedly very good and comfortable. Pay might not be like other Tier 1 firms, between 80 and 90 pm. Some teams have very good work.
I first visited LI as an intern and got hooked, like a lot of interns now. So when I'm done working, I visit LI from time to time. I do not comment on most posts, just the ones where I believe I have something helpful/useful to say.
The market is bad, and while I support your need for a break, for your own long term welfare, I wouldn't recommend it. Odds are you'll be back on this forum depressed about the huge mistake you made and how its impossible to find any work.
Can relate u spent 4 months without an offer this year before being inundated with 3+ offers. One should always enjoy the time instead of worrying about future scenarios
Even I have the same question, I am getting a good internship through other source but I don’t think they are hiring anymore
While NLS hasn't been doing great in most sports, it has a great Frisbee culture with a national team player coaching them. Keeps winning quite a bit.
I interned there a few years ago (DR was there back then). I absolutely loved that place. If they paid a little extra, I would've joined it in a heartbeat. They were patient in teaching things and gave you a lot of space to grow.
Which coaching is good for preparation of judiciary exam if I am in 3rd year of BALLB????
Which are the best dispute teams in India that also would give you a PPO?
I also think the quality of hires and associates in Prateek’s vertical is subpar.
I had a horrible experience working in Prateek’s vertical. No mentorship, mad working hours.
Your physical and mental health takes importance. Do quit, reach out to recruiters and jump.
I’m an SA2 at JSA and my bonus for last year (at SA1) was 10L. I’m expecting around 12L next year.
Buddy what matters is where you're happy. Career move vagera pura life chalega, just go join the boutique is hours are reasonable and pay is decent
Started at 4.2L per annum at T2 firm in 2019.

Presently at 52L per annum at T1 firm as SA2.
Lol, wtf. There are many many people who make that much and waste their time here. Wasting time here isn't the prerogative of the poor and the young.
It is not a profession pagle! It is a naukarshahi! Mauja hi mauja without any meaningful work and looootttssss and looottttssss of money!
Does it mean that if the interview goes well and recruiting partners ask the references for his words and his words can change the game for the candidate?
Not all comes from fee, a lot comes from their investments. Also AMS comes from family money, his father must have left a lot to him too.
MMS's team already had very high pressure and bad hours so it won't be anything new
Be professional. Send a mail. Inform everyone. Start handing over process at least 7 days before leaving.
Does the procedure given on the website work? Any insights would be appreciated (Stipend, application process, work culture, etc.)
Can someone please provide the breakup of the 17.5/18.5 lpa salary at AZB? Also, what is the in-hand salary every month post tax deduction? And when is the bonus component of the salary received?
Assert dominance over the son. Make your presence felt. Write an article and submit it to online forums highlighting name of your firm/senior. Do something but don’t give up.
I wonder why there are dislikes here. Thanks for sharing tho
Hi

I saw there post for capital markets team associate position. Any idea for salary
Aren’t these four all the people in SKPs vertical? Anushka and Sneha are part of Prateek’s team only.

Does this mean there’s attrition in all teams under SKP and AB?
You want to work in their real estate team in Mumbai? Ruchit sir ke saath kaam karne mile toh bhaag khul gaye aapke. He’s a legend.

Agle janam mohey Ruchit Parikh ka junior keejo 🙏🏻
hi i just received an internship acceptance from the firm and was wondering how the experience for others interning there has been? thanks
Is it possible within India for a Non-NLU graduate or are there greener pastures abroad for this purpose?
Just tell your reporting partner casually over conversation first and then drop a formal email. Do not give too many unnecessary details in the email. Send email. Leave. Never return.
How is Atul Shanker Mathur? His team was advertising a vacancy for very long - not sure if it’s been filled up.
Yea - not diluting partnership is a major reason for a lot of great people leaving.
Is it possible for an Indian LLB wala to join any United Nations organ as a lawyer/in some legal capacity? Is work experience needed? Has any Non-NLU lawgrad achieved this feat?
Yes. If you have no relevant experience, would be a good idea to start in house. Lot of on house positions hire 3-5 years litigation experience for managing their legal cases.
Yes they offer 24 LPA. Some of my friends got a job there so I can vouch for it.
AZB Mumbai and Delhi maybe ‘close’ to the 1.5 figure. Bangalore, Pune and Chennai far far behind.
13 years back started at T-1 at 12.8 lacs left it to start litigation,

First year in lit 1,200. Second year in lit-27,000

Last 2 financial years about 1.1 Cr pa.
Avoid chambers at all costs. Only keep them as a last resort. Always prefer law firms over chambers.
In a similar boat. Working at a litigation boutique that doesn't pay well but hoping to switch to a T1/T2 soon.
And I totally believe you. Even if true, you probably pay your juniors 15-25k so my point still stands.
You can contact R Besant. He was a judge eco resources and set up a successful practice, albeit that he was a High court judge eco was I think a district judge before.
Now he is sharing car with someone at his new office. Iykyk. ;)
I was talking about the GC team. Not Lit. My bad, I should've been more clear with what I meant.
