Just trying to understand how did this happen because once Indus was doing amazing and was a serious contender of being next T-1 with good pay and among the best working environment out there. Why did it start to lose talent?
Even on leaves which are granted, you are made to work as if its a working day and leaves are approved subject to the condition that you are available to work (not just available on text/call but work also if required) - the reason being given for this is that we have an unlimited leave policy and you can avail more leaves later- which is an endless loop.
The unlimited leave policy is a big scam.
There, solved your riddle how a firm with great culture can also splinter.
It’s more of the partners leaving with their team rather than the associates attrition rate
So it could be for better pay and such incentives.
I have heard that their cap markets team was toxic but idk which office and it’s not my first hand experience, something others have told me
(1) Equity – I hear that they wanted partners to pay into equity initially – not sure if that is true. If yes, may explain some departures – this is not market.
(2) Partner Compensation – From my sources, I hear that the targets have been hikes massively, and bonuses were delayed/withheld. Can someone confirm?
(3) What kind of platform does the firm provide its partners? I believe this is the key issue (along with (2)). The targets going up, and no cross-sell from the firm/founders (especially the Delhi ones) will always lead rainmaking partners to look for greener pastures.
This is a myth which has been surviving for long. Time to burst the bubble. Culture at Indus is as bad as any other tier-1 firm.
