DELIVER ON TIME AND DELIVER QIALITY
You do not get to piggyback/ forced-team on the few hard-fought gains of the women's movement. If you want to argue that you are harassed because of your body- you will have to prove that. Who are you harassed by and what is the harassment of which you speak. You will have to go to courts and legislatures and make your case. Just because women have something does not mean they are obligated to share it with you. This is every kid on the play ground trying to take away his sisters ice cream after throwing his in the dirt. Except no one wants to call you on it because you play on peoples pity. The one thing men in this country dont feel for women- pity. No means no. Get over it.
We need a gendered law to protect us from male aggression. thats it. If you want a gender neutral law- we are at cross purposes. Females dont sexually harass males by and large. There may be very rare exceptions but it is not a problem at a large scale. We need gendered laws that recognises this material documented well evidenced fact. If males want to make the case that they are "oppressed" then they need to show evidence.
That's just the managing partner man, be kind.

PS - I know the new criminal laws will be enacted soon. I want to buy a criminal manual based on current laws so that when the new laws come in I'll have a reference to compare current laws and the new.
Avimukta and Vahura are decent for law firm roles. Although it's a hit or miss with both of them. Depends more on the recruiter than the firm tbh. Neha (Avimukta) and Lee, Suren (Vahura) are some great folks to speak to from a Mumbai hiring perspective.
Michael Page - global brand, professional folks but yet to find a footing in the legal industry. Great folks but don't have the best law firm roles. They have some great in-house legal roles, as does Vahura.
Adept, Yellow Wire - absolutely horrendous, arrogant, avoid at all costs. CVs get sent to firms without candidate's consent.
Legal League was decent back in the day when Bithika was more hands on - the current set of people are just not up to the mark professionally.
A lot has already been said about the TMPL folks although I haven't interacted with them personally.
Nazar nahi churana sanam
On another note, @mod @kian , legallyindia should have a way to classify threads. Pls separate Gossips, internships, salary , work culture , practise area discussions and these kinds of Gossip thread. Please do it.
1. These are typically for GC roles in MNCs and venture backed startups for a select number of sectors (as the article mentions). Ergo, these roles are few and far in between. Not everyone will be qualified for these roles. As the article indicates, GCs at top-tier cos more often than not, have been partners at respected law firms in the past - which is why they can command such compensation numbers in the first place. The average law graduate would be better placed working with a law firm for the formative years of their career and then switching to leadership roles within in-house teams.
2. 3cr to 10cr is a MASSIVE range. I'd be very surprised if there are more than a handful of GCs earning >7cr a year. Imo, the article conveniently uses a range to create sensational value as opposed to more indicative criteria that would indicate what the most common range would typically look like.
3. Earning 3cr as a law firm partner /= Earning 3cr as a GC. Simply because the 3cr you earn as a GC is CTC - which includes monetary pay, perks and RSUs/Stock Options that vest over time. As a partner it's cold, hard cash. And once you hit equity, the upside is unlimited. Unlike a GC.
Overall, it's great that Corporate India is finally starting to recognize the value of in-house legal expertise. However, unlike what this article suggests, it's good to be cautiously optimistic. There's a long way to go.
Where are those corp lawyers now huh?
ExCePtIOnAlly talented. Lol

1) At this point of time in India, many lower ranked NLU students are not getting even internships in these big firms. Internship applications are not being responded to for months.
A0/A1 is a VERY uphill climb for you (or me even).
Think about it this way -
You are a partner/HR and you receive 2 emails asking for internship (or say, A0) position. One is from NLU student, who has also interned with another law firm in past and other one is you (or me) with no experience in General Corporate matters and has only litigation experience.
Who amongst the two will be more useful to corporate law firm? Hope you got your answer.
2) Why would any HR (or firm) make unnecessary efforts to shortlist candidates when they are getting best NLU candidates easily ? I mean you or me may be equally competent but do you think HRs (or Partner) should spend time and take the RISK and give an opportunity of damaging the firm's name (and work) ?
3) At this point of time, there are atleast 20 good universities (NLUs + GLC/ JGLS/ Symbi/ ILS/ NM/ Nirma - yes I am including all!) which means that every year there are atleast 20 X 50 = 1000 Job Seekers. But there are only like 50 Law firms (Big and Small) , therefore 50 X 10 vancancies = 500 ONLY. So, even many students from lower ranked NLUs can be seen struggling in Litigation or other fields
You can send an email to the ID mentioned in this blog. For students, the internship is for a minimum of 2 months and for graduates for 6 months. Apply with your resume and cover letter.
All the best!

The Supreme Court, in the Review Petition All India Judgesโ Association v. Union of India , AIR 1993 SC 2493, in its judgment delivered on 24 August 1993 had held that, "The Judicial Service is not service in the sense of โemploymentโ. The judges are not employees. As members of the judiciary they exercise the sovereign judicial power of the State. They are holders of the public offices in the same way as the members of the council of ministers and the members of the legislature."
The above observation has consistently been followed in subsequent judgements including the ones delivered by SC in 2023!
I had a bad experience with them. Once they get your CV, they stop responding to your texts as their job in the process is done which is to collect and forward CVs.
They said will give a ppo and then never responded.
So ugly
What is commission of recruiter ? How does this system work ?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nGaFggVAslc
PPO: They prefer lateral hiring. Interns are taken on a monthly basis and based on feedback/presentation or something may be called back as a paralegal and then a trainee associate. The chances of PPOs are less but not impossible.
Pay: Interns 10-12.5k not aware otherwise.
There is a reason that procedural laws have provisions like order 6 rule 17 , sec 153.
There are "material errors" which can classify as implied admission and "non- material errors".
If you go on a T-1 Judgmental Spree over basic grammatical errors then I hope you also .
This illogical anxiety of partners at T-1 and gaslighting is the reason that Junior Associates are made to go through 100 pages of draft for simple grammatical mistakes - costing them their mental health in the long run. No wonder T-1s have high attrition these days.
Rather than answering and being a bit helpful. You are just being lowkey sarcastic in an anonymous forum and gaining validation for yourself.
The advice received is be yourself. However being honest may result in non selection. People who have been successful in interviews, could you mention something that should and shouldn't be done ?

Thanks for replying :)
CAM- cause expectation on interns is of an A2
Btw, this is not the jindal of the early days. University is just doing aggressive expansion at the cost of quality.
SIMPLY NOT WORTH IT.
1. That doesnโt mean they arenโt good students.
2. There are non-nepo kids too.
3. Tell me a single profession in India where nepotism is not a problem. In fact, itโs a problem abroad too, from politics (Hunter Biden) to Hollywood (Dakota Johnson).
Any suggestion will work, especially a list of boutique law firms to watch for. Please suggest!
Talking about the public service thing, I just want people to not call it government service at all and call it anything else.
So, if anyone employed there currently or in the past or anyone having experience with the same could help out with some pointers as to how i could make an impact there and somehow make it work, it would be really helpful!
1. Jindal has stubbornly been a pure law and social sciences university, under VC Rajkumar's leadership. Rajkumar publicly said many times that Jindal will never expand into STEM. Either Rajkumar or the Jindal family has had a sudden change of heart.
2. Recently, there was an article in Print saying that Ashoka is rapidly expanding into STEM education to shed its image as a left-wing liberal arts university and after recent controversies. The BJP has also been introducing more STEM education into JNU, to counter JNU's Marxist humanities ecosystem.
https://theprint.in/ground-reports/nine-year-old-ashoka-university-is-asking-the-most-important-question-who-am-i/1762858/
Like Ashoka, Jindal has been getting intro controversies over its leftist professors and students. Could they be copying Ashoka? Could the Jindal family have taken note of recent developments and taken this call? Or is it simply market economics, i.e. low demand for law, high demand for STEM and medicine worldwide? Also, more prestige in studying engineering and medicine among the middle class, e.g. crib about 40 lakhs fee for at Jindal but happily pay 1 cr for a medical or engineering degree?
"I was able to share the foundational idea of the Jindal International Science and Technology Academy (JISTA) with the members of the Jindal family.
I believe that this idea of JISTA@JGU and its extraordinary potential to achieve excellence and promote access to education in STEM, Medicine and other allied areas of sciences will shape the institutional future of JGU. Our reputation as an "Institution of Eminence" achieved in the last few years was due to our impactful work in the fields of law, business, humanities and social sciences. This vision and experience will be further expanded and deepened through our plans to work in the fields of STEM and Medicine. "
For firms, why canโt you have your HR reach out to potential candidates? AZB HR approached me for a role, it ultimately didnโt work out post interview but much better prospect than having to go through a recruiter. Build those capabilities in-house and save costs.
