Should I continue despite being burned out or continue? ( the work is great and my family is happy to support me for litigation plans, I am privileged)
Please suggest any alternate work options for me? Work-life balance is my priority.
IPR law in india is hardly enforced. Nobody cares or follows it.
What matters is only marks, absolutely nothing else.

bache bas management, par manage karne jaisa kya hai
(mod please let this go, he deserves it)
AIBE is quite honestly a cakewalk. It is easy. If you can manage the same however, do try and attempt a paper or two (you could get the past papers online, I guess), and IF POSSIBLE, try to do the same within the actual time-limit and in the actual setting. AIBE is less about preparing for the exam, and more about how you take the exam.
BEFORE THE EXAM/ EXAM-PREP
1. Read the contents of the Bare Acts.
2. This might sound as if I am pulling your leg, but in all honesty, know the names of the Acts which you would be carrying
3. I had put flags/ Post-It type notes on the first page of the Bare Acts I was carrying. This helped me pick out the one which I really wanted for a particular question, instead of having to turn to the cover-page. Saved me a ton of time
4. As stated earlier, try and attempt 1-2 past papers. The answers- you might not even have to reach out to the Bare Act/s. OMR sheet marking EATS into those three hours.
5. Be prepared to attempt some questions pertaining to landmark judgements.
DAY OF THE EXAM/ DURING THE EXAM
Naturally, carry the necessary documents, stationery material, etc.
1. Reach your centre early. Gives you time to set up your workspace the way you want it. Setting out 15+ Bare Acts in the most easily accessible manner, given the space constraints at some centres is no joke.
2. Be very careful and meticulous in filling up the necessary details on the OMR sheet.
3. No negative marking. So attempt every question.
4. Keep an eye on the watch. Time does seem to go veeeeery slow in the first 2 hours, and within a flash, it is time to turn in your OMR sheet.

Forget Mr. Sorabjee. As a lawyer, Cyril is NOWHERE close to even his juniors.
I've observed numerous discussions on this topic on Legally India, and not a single comment has delved into the rules of war—a codified protocol that must be followed during such conflicts. Surprisingly, there isn't even one informed debate on this crucial aspect. What does this lack of discourse reveal about the current state of our so-called intelligentsia, which lawyers typically represent?
I believe that live conflicts like this should prompt us to temper our emotions and biases, dive deeper into exploring the relevant international laws, and actually apply them on a case-by-case basis. Please study these rules (rules of war) and then present an informed point of view - on whether IDF conducted an operation at, say a hospital, in compliance with such rules.
Indulging in loose analogies, whataboutery, and sweeping statements is the hallmark of intellectual shallowness and ignorance.
1. I have been associated with my current senior's Chambers for almost two years now. Decent person, truly understanding, considerably supportive/ accommodating. My grief, in addition to the age-old peanut-pay is the limited exposure that I get in terms of appearances. Yes, I do get small-time applications here and there, but mostly adjournments. Respectfully, like any other sane individual, I do not count those as constructive appearances. In addition thereto, the work at this particular Chamber is of a very specific kind. To each their own, but I want to gain substantial exposure to as many facets of litigation as possible, latest by 5-PQE.
2. I have made up my mind to leave the present Chambers soon, and have been applying, for the want of a better word, in a haphazard fashion. At times, just bullishly hitting "send", without really concerning myself with other aspects such as pay, work-culture, etc.
3. Despite negligible appearances, I have gained significant drafting experience, and my strategies are taken into consideration, with due feedback being provided.
4. I am not looking into Dispute teams of Tier 1/2, even remotely. This is for additional context, if deemed necessary.
Here are a few questions for peers and seniors alike, particularly the ones who are into litigation.
1. What should I expect moving to a small/ mid law firm, given my Chamber background. If possible, please answer in terms of: (a) culture, (b) exposure, (c) working hours, (d) any additional aspects you deem fit.
2. Would a firm as above be more conducive towards professional growth in terms of gaining experience and exposure, or should I try my hand at some other Chambers?
3. Any tips/ additional comments you would consider adding.
Thanks for reading. Anticipating replies.
Domestically, many countries are observing rise of semi-authoritarianism where governments are using combination of technological progressions and LAW, to muzzle dissent and opposition. LAW has become a tool to execute the unimaginable conspiracies so that a few politicians and corporates continue to enjoy control over the general citizenry. The common citizens are so entangled in their lives and hammered with societal & inflationary pressures that the masses fail to foresee for themselves a purposeful life. They would work a job with a feeling to persist some more time in a world, where commercialism and consumerism are stretching the desires to an unending infinity. And who lives now just to fulfill their needs?
Please think from a perspective of a law student, who would consider all the legal principles that he/she learns to be completely meaningless.

So, marks (wont matter during lateral hiring) > Internships > Publications/Int moots > Other moots
Note: moots don't hold weight if its a mere participation; either you win or you lose.
Best of luck friend!
maths is difficult but if you can manage it a bit, with law background you don't need 99 percentile.
It is nobody's claim that everything britain does is above reproach. In fact, no war, like the ongoing one in India, can produce an error-free outcome. However, there is a problem with the stated goal of HSRA, which has not been removed from its charter to date—that is, the aim to bring about the annihilation of the British. When such a goal is pursued, I will support britain.
1. Is it mandatory to suspend bar licence or did your company force you to do that?
Asking because most lawyers after going in house or even doing full time private jobs rarely suspend their bar licence.
2. Are there any issues if you don't suspend your bar licence post entering an in house job.
3. Suspending Bar Licence and then getting it back - how expensive is it?
Bar Enrollment you have to spend 15'000+ in most states. What is the cost of suspension of license and then getting it back when you practice.
4. Why don't most lawyers in India who go in house not suspend license?
1. Go for the exam.
2. Make sure you attempt everything.
You pass.
Even kids in third rated local law colleges don't prepare for AIBE
Thank you.
With regard to October 7, there's a difference between heinous acts and an organisation being acknowledged under domestic law as a terrorist organisation. As a lawyer, you're supposed to be able to identify that difference. I find Hamas' actions to be reprehensible and strongly condemn it. I feel the same way about Israel's retaliation too including all the murdering of innocent civilians and children. If you want to pressurize the Indian government to include Hamas in the list of organisations that we recognise as terrorists, I am all in support. Till then, it is not one at least under Indian law. Otherwise, people would have been arrested for inviting their representatives to air their opinions in programmes.

Why do we still trust this site? Wikipedia editors treat it as the gospel truth and ban even citing Firstpost and Swarajya.

Hi, I have been lurking at this particular thread since it was posted. The problem is that guys like OP dont have many options after law. No job for them. This is not the case about playing the cards you're dealt. This is the case with playing only Card - Just litigation.
Assuming that Op is first gen, he must be facing a tough time in terms of money and aging parents. Small School Law Grads dont get any job. Pet alone T-1 or T-3 .
OP mentioned that he is from MP/JH Or similar place, so moving to metro and working as intern / A0 is the only way left for them but that is really expensive and pure game of luck. He may make it or perish and crawl back to his burrow.
I am also assuming that OP enjoys litigation, apart from frustration of long trial. I guess, he is not attracted to work of a corporate lawyer. He is just looking for a way out to make more money and do good work.
@OP - I am impressed with how heartfelt your comments are. Word of advice if you can, join boutique in Mumbai. Again, that is uphill climb. Law is full of toxic & jealous people. Take care .
Not discrediting him. But the question is why him?
However, looking back, I can't help but feel the whole thing was just some juvenile fun by the "meh" generation. For the NALSAR kids, it was the offline version of internet pranksters who are shitposting. For the right-wing and Sadhguru fans, it was the offline version of old internet uncles getting offended and not being able to take a joke. Today, the kids who went after Sadhguru are mature, working professionals. The provocateur in chief went on to work as a finance wiz in London. Most of the others in the video are similarly working as corporate lawyers. I mean, I can just literally see them looking back at the video, then looking at the outraged internet Hindutva uncles and laughing their ass off and going "Lolz, it was a prank, bro."
Maybe we take life too seriously sometimes? Maybe we judge college students too harshly? Like how many NLU grads have become commie insurrectionists and thrown Molotov cocktails at Goldman Sachs HQ?
Thoughts?
It is expensive , but you will find alternatives for that. Traffic is annoying but again, trains/metro.
Delhi is good but have never felt safe. The pollution. Quality of life sucks.
Pune..slow life, travel is difficult, less opportunities.
Bangalore, less opportunities compared to mumbai and delhi
Work culture sucks everywhere.. Social life is better in mumbai and pune , banglore..
I hope EAM S Jaishankar is doing everything needed to proscribe Hamas. It can safely be said that Hamas is a fringe outfit that has oppressed and overtaken the Palestinian agenda, co-opting it with the goal of Jewish annihilation. It should, therefore, be rooted out of existence at the earliest.
UNFUCKING BELIEVABLE. And these people are torch-bearers of legal profession in India? Disgusting.
same shazia was being attacked by supporters of PM modi beofre joining BJP.
Also, pakistan is a failed theocratic state, i'd rather not compare my country to it.
situation of minorities is bad in Pakistan, no one denies it, also let's not talk about Kaneria, the only thing he is known for is match fixing, and his bitterness is showing, he has realized that by making such statements he will attract large bhagwa crowd and get a paycheck from x.
