I graduated from GNLU in 2016. Due to some health issues/ family reasons had to join LPO now Regretting like hell. Salary/increments are chillar. Very much worried. Why I stayed here for 7 years? Was bound to. Can't reveal here. Please advise guys how to move to In-hoise or law firms. Anybody has sailed through such boat? Help, depressed. I don't mind working even as an A0 or half salary in begining. No troll please
Hey, current GC in a tech services company here. I'll have you know that several of my colleagues have previously worked with the likes of DWF Mindcrest, Pangea3 and the like, and were very strong candidates for in-house roles when they wanted to make the shift.
Your experience may not be the one you wanted but don't discount the hard work you may have put in over these years. LPO folks are typically strong with processes, systems and technology within an in-house legal context - something that is critical for most companies with large legal teams.
My recommendation would be to apply to large technology consulting / services companies, the Big4 etc - they love hiring from LPOs and provided you are skilled enough, you should easily be able to land a job in one of them. Law firms will be tough and honestly after 7 years in a LPO, no one will even think of hiring you as an A0. That's the tough truth.
Hey, OP here. Thanks thanks a lot sir. Could you please tell namr of some tech service companies or any other relevant in-house where I could search job on linkedin matching my profile? Or some key words to search jobs that will take me to those companies? Yes Big4 offering me senior consultant job but salary not much than what I am getting now. Please reply when you get time.
Tech services/consulting - Accenture, Capgemini and the like. Key words to search jobs: I'm not sure what you mean here but typically you would use keywords that correspond to the skill sets that you may have. For e.g. contract management, e-discovery etc.
Oh really sorry. I mean if I were to apply to the company you working for, what key words would have I used to find a vacancy in your company if there was any. What do in-house use terms to advertise job on legal portals matching my profile.
