Judge ko jaan lo.
The solution is better education not shutting down Universities. Not everyone can travel, relocate or pay high fees and cost of living.
Colleges like GLC and ILS have gone to shit academically because of crappy teachers and horrible management. Unko penalise karo, students ko nahin.
Always remember 80% is diet 20% is exercise. And for exercise you don't need to do 6 days PPL hardcore gym. Sure that maybe optimal but our goal here is not bodybuilding.
Opt for options like full body 3x a week, or upper lower 4 times.
This is because in a 6 day split even if you miss one day your entire moral falls down. Alternatively in a 4 day split say Monday Tuesday Thursday Saturday, even if I due to some urgent work and not able to workout on Tuesday, I can shift it to Wednesday. You get buffer days.
Have atleast 1 day (sunday, but preferably 2 if you can squeeze in) for cardio because heart health is important, for this you can run, cycle, swim anything.
Along with this try to get 10k steps daily, this is fairly easy I hit over 12k just by backing to and fro from parel station to one world and then a little walking throughout the day.
Don't let your law firm life ruin your health.
Alternatively, get a pull up bar installed at your home because our work hours are not fixed and will never align with the gym timings (unless you have access to a society gym). Pushups, pull-ups, you can definitely afford dumbles and resistance bands, will be more than enough to get you into shape (not optimal for muscle building exactly but it's definitely better than nothing).
This is not only for your body, but trust me working out and taking care of yourself helps the mental health as well.
Will I be able to find any accommodation for 10-15K/ month in these/ nearby areas?
Any help is appreciated.

Wilders wants zero asylum and wants Islam banned (though he has now softened that position). Even the centre-right came second, so if you add the far-right and centre-right votes it's huge. You also have Trump forecast to defeat Biden according to the latest polls. So why this backlash against left/liberal parties, to the extent that even the far-right is preferable to the centre-right? What's going on? Anger at unemployment and inflation? An ideological rejection of socialism in favour of capitalism? Or a culture war backlash against left/liberal parties because they have been co-opted by woke factions?
Please pen down the experience.
I understand I need to work hard and make no mistakes. But how do you continue here and become a senior associate or partner. Does it get better ever.
How do you manage life with constant anxiety.
🥴
Pls explain
I am not from Delhi so I will have to shift to Delhi purely to litigate
You have all but abandoned the lifestyle choices of your ancestors and adopted the ways of colonialists.
Is it that you hate yourself for being a shill and don't like to be reminded of it?
Is it because you have no faith and feel small when you see someone who does?
People who are living in an open air prison for 70 years are bound to revolt, HAMAS came into existence because of oppression not vice versa.
I mean we were oppressed for years and we fought back, Bhagat Singh, Azad and other freedom fighters were terrorists as per west.
Hell Nelson Mandela was a terrorist according to US.
Forget Gaza israel keeps taking over property and settling people in West bank, there is no HAMAS there.
Israel has kidnapped thousands and thousands of children and women and has kept them in prisons without trial, they have stolen organs from murdered Palestinians, they gave birth control to black Jews without their consent.
just because a book says the land belong to them doesn't mean it does, I don't think any of us would be open to quietly giving up our home if some tribal guy came and told us this land belonged to him from a 1000 years back.

There is not a single reason to support Israel except islamophobia, just because a book says the land belong to them doesn't mean it does, I don't think you would be open to quietly give up your home if some tribal guy came and told you this land belonged to him from a 1000 years back.
I'm a law aspirant who has some extra time on my hand and would like to use it in a meaningful way, and learning a new language seems desirable, and want to learn a language that will help me in i'm career as a lawyer, so what languages do you recommend?
Ps:- I thought about learning Mandarin, since its the most spoken language in the world and China is an important country in the economic sector

NLU Ranchi, not Lucknow. But IIMA is correct. It's the toughest IIM to get into, so definitely a beauty with brain.
Re Chambers, you need to pay 1 cr one-time and a recurring annual charge, but you need to be invited. How does this work? Can you cold-call the Taj and ask for an invitation, or should you ask an existing member to ask them to invite you?
As for evidence, once again, there are plenty of reporters reporting from ground zero who have said otherwise. You would of course not pay any heed to them.
Further, painting IDF as being more cruel than Hamas is not my goal. It should not be anyone's. Why should a terrorist's actions be the standard for a nation-state? The fact that you think that to be the line reveals more about yourself and your ideology than anything else.
I don’t like working out in the morning as well because waking up earlier eats up on sleep, which is essential to function. Try exercising with weights at home and combine it with calisthenics (you’ll find plenty of home workouts online) and try doing it first thing when you get home from work so that there’s enough time between your workout and sleep time. It may also help reduce the anxiety which causes the doom scrolling. Once you get the hang of this try squeezing in a walk in the evening. Keep you diet clean and take enough protein.
As long as you’re in a caloric deficit you’ll lose the weight. All this may not put you in superhero shape but you’ll certainly be healthy.
Good luck!
P.S. Yes, I know Mahua wears Rolex but I don't consider her to be upper class or elegant. Tharoor definitely, but not her. Tharoor is a Patek man FYI.
People are tweeting about the Rolex Submariner watch, but the monogrammed shirt with JAD caught my attention. I have seen some senior lawyers with such monogrammed shirts. I have also seen managing partners with other monogrammed gear, e.g. I saw Rajiv Luthra with a case with his initials and I met someone who Pravin Anand had gifted a golf ball, with his firm's logo.
JAD is around 33/34 years I think, which is around SA/partner age. So is this what we should aspire to at that age/rank? Or does it look better if you are older? Also:
1. Any idea for monogrammed gear? Mobile phone cases? iPad wallets?
2. What if you have no middle name and what if you initials are very bland and common, e.g. AA, AB, BA, etc? Still worth it?
In all seriousness, he's a great arguing counsel. On his day he's one of the best I have seen.
I am much less convinced by RR. He's a darling of all firms because his office preps him well, but I feel that he is not aggressive enough and doesn't push for reliefs. He is a good choice for extremely large companies who don't particularly care, I guess.
2. Gopal Sankaranarayanan - 21 letters.
These are the easy ones. However please note that people in these practice areas have slightly lower life expectancy.
Lol- and they want to be a professional firm! Joke of the century.
Should I continue despite being burned out or continue? ( the work is great and my family is happy to support me for litigation plans, I am privileged)
Please suggest any alternate work options for me? Work-life balance is my priority.
I suggest young ambitious lawyers also start their financial planning to include such purchases in the years to come. I think a senior SA should have at least an Omega (or equivalent).
Answer to Q2 - No.
Answer to Q3 - Yes
The fact that you are so quick to assume my ideology only reveals the standard of your thinking process.
You seem to have your mind made up and I respect that you have an opinion (even if it doesn't align with mine). However, I doubt that you have witnessed the war in Gaza yourself or have an iota of proof that paints the IDF as being more cruel than Hamas.
Is there an actual improvement in work culture? What are the hours like?
On a more serious note, avoid CAM at all costs. This question should be a red-flag enough for you. The firm has terrible work culture and some very bad people. You'll slave away at lesser pay relative to your batchmates in other forms. Trilegal, while still a sweatshop, will pay you lakhS more.
Also, my core area of competence is GC only so firstly is it worth my time to learn Banking also ?
Secondly, should i stick to GC only or should i do GC+Banking or should i look for places where i can mix it up with M&A as i progress since that's the most popular combo as I've observed.
Any thoughts on this situation would be welcome, also if you guys could give some insights about these combinations, your experiences with these areas.
Like why do we even have to give this exam?
The question arose because I always see their name popping up here. Is it because they are from NLS, hence favored here - platform largely visited by NLU bros.
That is not to say that moots do not matter. SOME of the reputed moots are extremely rewarding academic exercises which force you to think on your feet and produce persuasive arguments. It's true that every Tom dick and harry in India that can get a law firm or scc to sponsor is organising a moot these days to show that they exist as a law school - these competitions have extremely poorly drafted problems usually by an author who has probably never explored a good research topic or written a law review article in his life and are judged based on dog shit standards by lawyers who havent fully read through a book that goes beyond 200 pages. This should not take away from the true value of the academic endeavour that is associated with a good moot (this is assuming you can work enough to be on a team that does one of these good moots - that atleast try to make the moot a good research exercise for the participants).
Beyond a point, law firm work or litigation for that matter IS about juggling different deliverables and prioritising, your participation in a good mood along with good academic credentials only SHOWS how much you can take on and still do well and shows how much overall value you bring to the table and I think such a candidate is far more valuable at a firm and a team than mere rank 1 or winner at a moot with nothing else to show. No recruiter would ever place their bets on someone who crashed an entire semester to do one moot. It just shows a terrible inability to balance or work hard.
Let's all judge the team on the basis of what interns think - god knows they run the world!
I am in that rubber room, currently. Look forward to giving notice to the so-called partner (/glorified PA) I report to, after picking up my bonus. Sick of the shit but need to hang in since money isn't abundant at the moment and Lyril has never been the best paymaster anyhow.
A bit concerned that I might get too exasperated and give notice before that thereby losing my bonus. But dekha jaayega.
While we all know law firms aren't employee friendly, CAM is unhealthy for lawyers on a different level. I had immense patience as a human before I lateralled here. A few months in, I became an impatient ball of anxiety. The "money" totally has NOT been worth what my life has become.
Mujhe bhi kehna hai, "i WAS in a rubber room once"
Bacha log, Amarchand brand se sway ho ke CAM mat join karna. Maine galti kari, tum mat karna. Zindagi aisi jhand hogi ki tum sochoge "where did i lose the plot and end up in THIS situation". Go to another firm, make slightly less money if need be - not that CAM is the leading paymaster anyhow - a lakh or two less will be worth the trade off in terms of mental health.
Should I continue despite being burned out or continue? ( the work is great and my family is happy to support me for litigation plans, I am privileged)
Please suggest any alternate work options for me? Work-life balance is my priority.
IPR law in india is hardly enforced. Nobody cares or follows it.
What matters is only marks, absolutely nothing else.
