On a bare reading, this provision would apply to law firms (including offices of foreign law firms), private universities like Jindal and think tanks and NGOs like Vidhi. But perhaps not very small law firms, NGOs or chambers of advocates, as they will have less than 20 people. But one grey area is whether staff like peons, drivers etc are included in the figure of 20, or whether it applies only to managerial staff.
Anyway, let’s wait for the bill to be published and for discussions on the bill to take place. As it is a private bill, there is no party whip and both NDA and INDIA MPs can vote for or against it, as well as non-aligned parties like the BJD and YSRCP.

Regarding the millions of children point, why not tell the terrorists to return the hostages immediately and unconditionally, stop behaving like children and recognise the State of Israel? Terrorism has stopped in other places this way, and it could as easily stop in the Middle East, too. Any solution that doesn't recognise the right of the Jews to inhabit part of that area and have it for themselves is no solution at all, and anyone articulating any such solution is a charlatan and a fraud; yes, I am happy to argue about where the borders should be etc. and even support the Israelis being given a bit of a scolding if they ask for too much, but the slogan you quoted is a terrorist chant, and should be treated as such. I am also happy to argue about Arabs being given more rights and so on, but the world needs a Jewish state; the way they have been treated in the past (unending discrimination, humiliation, pogroms, holocaust etc.) entitles them to demand at least this from the rest of the world - to have a state for themselves.
So the answer is that it be can be annoying and suck up all he/she wants, but at the end of the day what matters is if you are a nice person and kind to others.
I am a 2023 law graduate from the University of Calcutta with a CGPA of 8 out of 10. Currently, I am working in Delhi as a Junior Advocate at a small chamber, where my pay scale is 20k. I also have a very small corporate work experience.
I am aiming to work in a corporate law firm where I truly believe I can excel. However, despite numerous attempts through emails and messaging partners on LinkedIn, I have not received any reverts on my applications.
Can anyone help me understand how I should proceed to improve my chances of landing a position in a corporate law firm?
Thank you in advance for your guidance and support. (ONLY GENUINE ANSWERS, NO TROLLING PLEASE)
PS: the numbers for 2024 batch looks good because of the people itself. The Internship and placement committee did not do anything.
Please!
WTH is this? Am I missing smthg? Hardly found one 5th year student with more than two good internships. And funnily enough most of them were educational mentors/ clat mentors/ working at IDIA/ founder of smthg/ working at other nlsiu student's startup.
Please someone explain or give yr views on this cause this is supposed to be the best law college of India!?!?

Then there is the issue of costs. Can we host such expensive events when our per capita income is so low and poverty is so widespread, thanks to illiteracy and overpopulation? You also of course have the problem of corruption as well. If 1,000 crores is allocated more than half will go into the pockets of politicians and bureaucrats.
Finally, the opening ceremony needs imaginative ideas like the balloon lighting, horse floating etc. we don’t have such creativity. We can only manage cringe Bollywood stuff.
So I feel Modi is making a big mistake in trying to bid for the Olympics!
And maybe try not starting threads which are this potent of exposing someone’s identity like this. LI maybe moderate the thread and hide the college’s name.
Learn to be respectful..there are lot of people who did 3yr llb and are doing great in the profession be it corporate job or practice...
People like u only know how to mock others

On the afternoon of 17 July, J. Sagar Associates (JSA) announced the biggest-ever move in the Indian antitrust circles, stunning those in the legal fraternity.
Nisha Kaur Uberoi, the national head of the competition law practice at Trilegal, one of India’s top legal firms, is set to join rival JSA as a competition chair with her team of 27 fee-earning associates, including two partners and support staff like personal assistants, officer clerks, in August.
Uberoi (45) is a consummate litigator and global deal-maker who has spearheaded complex M&A transactions amounting to over US$150 billion. Her departure from Trilegal’s market-leading competition law practice after seven years means the firm loses not only one of its top-earners but also a roster of marquee clients.
These include blue chip firms like tech giant Apple Inc. to conglomerates like Aditya Birla group, and energy-management firm Schneider Electric, among others.
Trilegal’s partner in corporate M&A, Sridhar Gorthi, who is also part of the firm’s management committee said: “We will continue to strengthen and expand this practice group as we have done with all our other areas of expertise.” He added that: “Nisha was instrumental in building our competition practice and has been part of the firm’s extraordinary growth journey.”

ABHISHEK MANU SINGHVI, SENIOR COUNSEL AT THE SUPREME COURT
Uberoi is also leading the defence in India’s highest penalty case of US$1.2 billion, involving an alleged cement cartel, representing the US$60 billion Aditya Birla conglomerate. Her clients will be moving with her to JSA, she told The Ken.
“Clients are obviously free to choose their legal advisors. It would be unprofessional to discuss any of them by name,” said Gorthi.
Trilegal’s competition practice now has 18 members across levels, including two partners, added Gorthi.

I wanna move ships if I dont see any hike in the current pay.
Also by what time of the year does CAM usually announce their hike?
I heard that increments are not comparable to other tier 1 firms even with the recent increase in salaries for freshers.
I was offered 5x of the increased remuneration as bonus after one year (due in September).
HR allots the team based on the vacancy. So don't think that you can select the team.
It doesn't goes that way
I am way harsher on myself than you can imagine.
We’re in the process of reviewing the applications, we will be in touch with your feedback in due course. We appreciate your patience.

1. to accept that your work was not valued much, or you were just passable/easily replaceable. Why so after 2 years? Need to introspect
2. Find another job, and next time instead of insulting the employer kindly think how you can be more valuable
In this market there are a lot of passable lawyers, very few who solve problems, retain clients, gets more done and reduces headache of their employers
If you are not good you will be discarded, that is how the legal profession is
Also would be great if you could name a few more companies that are hiring freshers

Loud louts jump into BJP bandwagon in Kerala because it's easy to gain fame despite not having a chance to win. Now that Suresh Gopi has shown a way - expect more louts to join.

A CS shall not approve an audited financial statement unless he understands what the CA guy has done. If he does then penalty will be charged on the company including him as he is a officer in default.
Corporate governance needs wealth maximisation of a firm so that the share holders are happy. A CS shall take care of CG that includes financial management. No lawyer can do financial management.
Sale of goods or transfer of property shall be passed in the general meeting for share holders approval. If a CS simply pass it without the knowledge of TPA act or registration act then the company will be in trouble.
So a CS shall have a legal knowledge in all field plus accounting knowledge like CA because when a CA does any mistake the whole burden comes on CS head. And if a lawyer makes a mistake again CS is responsible.
That is the reason the ICSI is making all the candidate to fail so that the cream of passed out shall know their responsibility.
