Real reason: my increment/bonus was coming up.
What is the way forward?
“It’s amazing, absolutely amazing. Some of these protesters hold up signs proclaiming 'Gays for Gaza'. They might as well hold up signs saying 'Chickens for KFC'. These protesters chant 'From the river to the sea'. But many don’t have a clue what river and what sea they’re talking about. They not only get an F in geography, they get an F in history.”

If I can be brutally honest, even I myself don’t know the name of the river and the name of the sea, although I have retweeted the slogan on my TL. I thought it meant Dead Sea or Red Sea, but that just saw on Google that it’s neither! Anyway, from a humanitarian standpoint we can simply say that millions of children are being killed that is wrong even if you don’t know the history and geography of the conflict. Even the ICJ has said it is wrong.
This is addressed to A2/A3 in Tier 1/Tier 2 firms.
Now that you’ve spent 2/3 years in a firm/ over multiple firms, what does the job search process look like for you?
Do you still switch jobs via recruiters?
Do you switch jobs by knowing about openings in College WhatsApp groups?
Do you switch jobs by reaching out to ex-colleagues who have left your firm?
Seniors from other firms themselves approach on LinkedIn to ask to join?
Any other way of getting jobs?
Also, usually what is the timeline for getting another job?
- NLSIU leveraged its connection with a powerful bureaucrat very close to Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, whose son was a student.
- NALSAR leveraged its connection with a top Union Minister in the Manmohan government, whose son was a student and who even today is one of the most powerful people in the Congress and a close advisor to the Gandhi family.
Like what are the chances and what can i do to increase my chances?
The setting is, I had gone back to my college for some reunion / function type thing. There i met quite a few people we caught up, nostalgia hit, happy to see familiar faces again after almost a decade after graduation.
There was a girl I had a crush on back then whom I was lattu about, then there was a girl who liked me from back then. We all suppressed our urges and just said "Hi! Nice to meet you!".
But the cherry on top of this event was the segment known as - Adopt a Law Firm. This event - Adopt a Law Firm is taking place inside a large hall. There's a lot chairs and tables. Its like a speed dating set up.
Law firm owners sit infront of a panel of 3 college kids and one professor.
The law firm owners are sad looking dejected, as if they're sitting before a bank manager asking for a restructuring or forgiveness of the loan. The kids look hungry and the professors look attentively at the grilling.
If successful, the law firm owner's law firm will get adopted and get an infusion of funds and the kids will join the firm. How the tables turn. That's all the dream was.
Paying fees does not entitle anyone to be invited to private dinners with a selected guest list. Paying fees entitles you to the opportunity to sit in class, learn, earn a degree, use the facilities. thats all it is.
If you like the parts about this private corporation that makes it easy for you to get a degree without earning it. You will have to put up with this and much worse.
A0 hai toh ache se kaam seekh. In house roles bhi honge aur law firm roles bhi tere liye. Apne bache ko jo karana hai stem mba fashion cinema karva dena. But work and learn.
Upes is your second best option. Keep the fees in mind while deciding though.
long term growth - M&A
A0 - 8.5f + 2v
A1 - 10f + 3v
A2 - 13f + 4v
Very rarely people stay beyond A2 since every tier 1 spams linkedin inboxes for poaching.

What do I do in this situation, is there something that can help my dad get out of this mess, the hotel aims to be the pinnacle of luxury in India but the owner is just a gross wannabe and doesn't pay his employees on time.
My dad is extremely naive and i'm worried for him, please tell me what I can do in this situation. I've just begun my career as an inhouse counsel and obv don't know much.
Any actual advice would be helpful.
Hello everyone, can you please help me out on this. Little background i had completed my 12th PCMB in 2024 , by taking a drop year and only scored 58%. However i did not want to be a doctor or engineer and decided to look for other streams and saw a career in law but to my badluck I had zero exposure to how it works and came to know you need to give CLAT to get good law colleges . Now neither did i gave any CLAT OR had a good percentage and still apllied to some universities - the following universities are the ones that accepted me.
- LLOYD LAW COLLEGES
-BENETT UNIVERSITY
-IILUER GOA
-WOXSEN UNIVERSITY
-UPES
Please help me in choosing
University should reconsider
Don't approach them personally in courts or on phones.
C'mon guys, this comment should get at least 100 downvotes.
Winning an International Moot > Research Paper publication in a highly reputed journal > Top 8 of an International Moot = Winning a National Moot > short piece publication at a reputed blog > Avg performance in a national moot.
Overall, unless you have a great team and good shot at doing really well in a moot, publication has a much better RoI than Moots.
For PPO, placements in general: no single criterion decides anything. It depends on how your CV is overall. But don't think no moot means no job.
Last I checked….everyone paid the same fee right?
High time jindal stops this discriminatory practice/exclusionary system. It is happening every year.
All important communications are on my email anyway which stays open on laptop all the time.
Anyone here who switched to a keypad phone recently? Any suggestions as to how to go on about it?
2. Will prioritise their family time and ensure multiple international trip but dare you even exhaust your leaves. For them people who sacrifice their leaves for work are really hardworking.
3. Quick to judge and then refuses to reevaluate their views.
4. Surrounds themselves with sycophants.
5. Will try to make you a junior version of themselves and dare you try to be different.
6. Thinks knows everything and refuses to listen any counter argument.
7. As someone mentioned above, criticizes or judges you jokingly.
Please help thank you
Placement guarantee - If you are in the top 25 of a NALSAR/ GNLU/ NLUJ, Top 10 of an upper T2 NLU, NLS, NLUD, Top 5 in a lower T2 NLU, or a topper in a T3 NLU or renowned private college. Your placement in a Tier 1 law firm is guaranteed. If you feel NLS and NLUD are unfairly placed, please look at past year placement stats. GNLU, NALSAR, NLUJ are undoubtedly T1s in placements at T1 firms. No use fighting over it, rather work hard and guide others who want T1 jobs.
The lower the rank + college it goes, it gets worse exponentially, for example a 25 ranker at NALSAR has more chances than a 15 ranker at HNLU. And the lower you go past the twenties and top 5 NLUs, the ratio gets past to 75/25 and 90/10, so the college loses value and your work in internships shines.
Ofcourse contacts helps.
Start by checking out PMLA adjudicating authority and Rouse Avenue special court proceedings. Watching these will give you a feel for how things work in real cases. Also, dive into landmark judgments and get a good grasp of the procedures.
Next, reach out to independent advocates in these areas. Offer to work for free initially, just to learn and show your dedication. You'll face some rejections, but don't get discouraged. Once you land a spot, throw yourself into the basics like filing, drafting, and learning court procedures inside out. The goal is to become so reliable that they can't do without you.
Networking is huge. When you brief senior advocates, make sure to connect with everyone—chamber juniors, clerks, and law firm partners. These relationships can open up great opportunities.
Just a heads-up: this profession is super demanding and doesn't always come with big monetary rewards at the start. But if you're passionate about it, the experience and connections you gain will be invaluable.
Believe in yourself and keep pushing forward. Your hard work will pay off, and whether you end up at a Tier 1 firm or continue on your own path, you'll be set for a successful career in any area of Dispute Resolution.
All the best!
It’s still a far fetched plan but I’ll surely consider it (if I don’t get hired by a good senior)
I had no other choice but to prioritise my health & mental well-being and I worked doubly hard to reach where I am today but as luck would have it, I had a series of health related issues in the last couple of years.
I’ve been associated with some of the best Law Firms in India albeit in a support role and now that I’m fully aware of all my existing physical and mental conditions, I can manage my life in a better way.
Age is not on my side, does it still make sense to foray into traditional legal routes or continue with what I have done so far?
Please be kind. I could really use some practical experiences. Money is not an issue, I just need to reclaim my lost glory, make life more meaningful and become the best version of myself in terms of my career.
All the best!
