We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Obviously I have these questions because I lack connections through family or socially as a first-gen lawyer. My no name college means I have no option except "going for" litigation
What is the general pay in Mumbai offered by independent practitioners? I know a senior who at 3 years with the same senior is getting a shit sum of 7500 p.m.
This senior is decent skill-wise but unfortunately (like me) is an introvert
Another friend and many others like this other person make around 10-15 p.m.
This is lesser than minimum wage for unskilled labour! Hearing about that 7.5k dude has scared me $#!+less.
Should I really take up any offer that comes or should I take a drop and prepare for banking exams in the meanwhile?
I am from Mumbai, if this context is necessary
One day, Sahni had left something in his office and then drove back quite late at night to collect it. He happened to be passing by a make out classroom. For some reason, he opened the door and peeked inside. Letβs just say he didnβt like what he saw and the rest is history. π

Quoting "45% of the batch placed" (as given in the poster) is a bit misleading? If it is 45% out of the students sitting for recruitments, then the same should have been mentioned in the poster as opposed to 45% of the total batch strength.
Last time he won from Bengal with TMC support! What I don't get is this: he has enough money for the next 20 generations. Why does he need an RS ticket? How does it help him? Just prestige and bragging rights?
There are in fact many students who do book private rooms with their girlfriends for privacy and you should do it too. There are now many nice hotels and OYO rooms nearby, catering to different budgets.
This is a way of trying to know if you are from an influential family. For example, they will be delighted with this answer:
βMy immediate family is from a different field. My father is an IAS officer, currently posted as Home Secretary of Maharashtra, and my mother is a Vice President at Samsung. However, my uncle, who is general counsel of Axis Bank, specialises in this field and got me interested in it.β
Conversely, they will be disappointed with this answer:
βNo, my father is a doctor and my mother is a teacher.β

SAM, KCO will also have counterparts.
After that, if time permits, you may look up chapters of Graham Vinter's book on Project Finance, available online on libgen. Expect questions on contracts, bankability, capital structuring.
i feel justice nariman didnβt go far enough though and should have had him debarred
34+ PPOs are real (that makes 45% of batch, I think the OP mistook it for numbers). This is all by students and despite the admin doing everything that they could do to promote the 3 yr llb batch at the cost of 5 yr llb batch (like hiring 'placement officers' to put roadblocks in the path of 5 yr llb's rcc, deputing new-era faculty to write laughable 'testimonials', proclaiming at the π ±οΈindia tπ ΎοΈday conference that 3 yr llb is a more 'theoretically rigorous' program than 5 yr llb, and declaring to 5 yr llbs in the classroom that their jobs are not a matter of concern for the top guy of the institution that, mind you, imparts professional education). Guys like RS are the only few who have been helpful and kind to 5 yr llbs in organising recruitment drive related stuff. Sadly, NLS' days of glory are going to be over with perhaps this last good performance. Its all a matter of 4-5 years before it gets toppled in rankings. Because, guess what, that perfect perception score that keeps it on the top in NIRF will go down once those gazillion students in the first year will graduate with no jobs. No amount of 'theoretical rigour' will keep that pumped up like the '100% placement' used to.
CAM will never be the highest paymaster. There's a reason they're being beaten down by "smaller firms" like Trilegal.
You need to get admission in Oxford separately even if you get the Rhodes.

Old watches from Timex and Titan - donβt remember series
BLC has been missing from action lately plus they don't really seem to be in a stage where they'd be willing to expand right now.
lol self goal
NLUs charging fee in the range of 2-3 lakh per year end up requiring 15-20 lakh of investment in 5 years.
Waste of money if you go to any tier 3 or tier 4 college like NLU in Trichy or Shimla or ranchi
Even diploma from NLUs
2. Within a few months bank will offer you a credit card.
Don't ever exceed limits or pay late or your cibil score will go as bad as placement stats of future NLS batch with 500 kids.
If my salary account is in HDFC, what is the credit limit I can expect with my starting A0 salary if I want HDFC credit card? Which HDFC card can I expect to be get?
Office - Seiko presage or tissot prx or longines hydro conquest (latest buy)
Outside office - Rado centrix or tag Monaco
At work, you have people who will fight (extremely hungry/ ambitious) to work for you or serve you. Ultimately, everyone stays because of their self image and how it makes them feel.
Money > > Status > > Power
The CAM PPO was after a single internship, despite the firm having a 2 internship policy. An LLB student single-handedly reached the semifinals of an international moot after the rest of the team couldn't make it. An LLB team won an international negotiation competition recently. The person with the highest marks in the Moot Oral Rounds this year is, you guessed it, an LLB student in the year with the most number of participants literally ever.
How much longer are few of you going to peddle your tired narratives about the world not taking their program seriously? Or that the student quality is remotely lacking in any way?
Some of you have a Sudhir hate-boner and want to take it out on everything even tangentially related to him. Well, jokes on you. Not because of him at all but because of the students, this program is going to succeed. Go cry about it
When will these boomers realise that we don't live in the stone age and students need some space for intimacy?
However having an ASG on your CV especially in the supreme court is fairly respected by foreign univs
Mods please fastest moderation, I need to send in my application accordingly.

You could (depending on pay, fringe benefits etc.) recruit to the position of a law school career advisor somebody like this (am sure some law firm HR people in India would like a change of environment):

In Britain at least (or at some law schools there), they do manage to recruit faculty with tenior to look into graduate outcomes. I know that one of those places (can't remember whether it's King's or QMUL) has this sort of department within their law school called the 'Hub For Professional Practice' or something. Apparently, in their LLB system, some selected students have an option to do a four year, instead of a three year, LLB, with the third year spent interning at a firm with which the uni has a tie-up (a sort of institutionalised, one-year-long version for some people of what everyone does at GLC without any college support); such things wouldn't happen without significant faculty interest.
jangpura mainly has taxation only.
Don't forget, supporting Hamas today emboldens some idiot in Kashmir to do the same things to our country. There is no context that justifies the existence of Hamas. Hamas must go. It will go and the price that must be paid will be paid.
Am willing to help students sitting for placements - post your question below and I will answer it
Frankly, if I were an MC firm partner reading this thread and I saw this nonsense about 'putting foot down' especially from non-UK unis, unless I really had a need for Indian talent, I'd go back to my firm and put through policy changes that meant my firm wouldn't sponsor visas for Indian law students' vac schemes (this would, ironically, in a way give me browny points with the UK government in my hypothetical scenario, as a key line of attack used by Sir Keir Starmer is that 'bad bosses' rely on immigration to import low-cost foreign labour, so I'd be able to convince a government whose instinct is to be suspicious of entities like mine that I am not a 'bad boss'!), so please be careful what you wish for.
