We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I want to get out of this but how and where I still don't know. Please guide.
P.S- I am willing to surrender my bci registration for an in-house role as well
Justice Talapatra is someone who would definitely take action.
NLS thrived before due to it's small batch size, super competitive selection process and the ability of students to learn and explore the law. Having a large batch size gives out a lot more challenges and this can already been seen why recruitment figures have been withheld.
Review Commissions, IDIA Student Diversity Reports etc before have already shown light on the lack of diversity in NLS and other problems like drugs. Hope the new Review Commission puts everything in a new light.
Source of information: students of BMS who I was cointerning with.
- Thorough review
- Deep cleaning and sanitisation
- Installation of CCTV and action against the employee filmed by the students (not clear if he will be sacked: the pro-human rights students/faculty want him to stay while others want him to be sacked immediately)
I know RSR pays 60+, singhvi about 40, sibal 80+ (but barely any engagement with the senior)
what about the rest? Gshanks, Mehta?
Stick with it
IMO start making videos of the people who feed these dogs, generally don't want dogs gone from campus and hold them liable (in accordance with the court order) in case anyone gets bitten, as many many already have.......
If you have had a nepo baby in your team/ workplace, how did you counter it and made sure your works coming in notice and a waste of space is not hogging the limelight.
Apart from the problem being delayed a day late by the University, it turns out that they had plagiarized the problem from Dr. Annasaheb G.D.Bendale Memorial 16th National Moot Court Competition 2023 organized by S. S. Maniyar Law College, Jalgaon. A Turnitin plagiarism report shared by a student on University mailing list indicated "Similarity Index" of 86%.
For more details, reach out to your connections in NLSIU :)
Pardon me if I came off harsh, but that was not my intention. And could you please elaborate on what OP is? I'm not good at abbreviations.
Apart from money being the primary reason to do an MBA another reason is sheer prestige that is unquantifiable. The hardships too are unquabtifiable.
As far as the packages are concerned I don't see a reason why a top foreign MBA candidate won't be hired in India for the same package. But as I already mentioned one can't expect NY level compensation in Gurgaon.
Jsa will feel like a shopping mall in front of these Lalaji ki parchoone ke dukans
Focus on your grades, and pick a subject to develop expertise(whether new or old, doesn't matter, all practice areas money at different times in the cycle ).
But more importantly, travel, read novels and everything else under the sun, do some sport or gym, get high, laugh and cry with your friends, pick a hobby and explore yourself, because once gone, college life doesn't happen again.
You'll be enough, you'll do good, you'll make your parents proud.
He worries before his time, worries twice. - maybe seneca
This comes at a time when the student led Moot Court Society is dissolved and the admin has taken it upon themselves to organise the University Rounds. Furthermore, these University Rounds are scheduled for a time when students have their course-specific in-class assignments, research papers and moots. If the MCS was still in place it would have taken all the student concerns into account but this is not being done. This is just a follow-up to the general trend of no student consultation in forming committees, reducing common spaces, putting cameras across campus (read PDA spots), restricting student life and activities on campus and killing the already non-existent social life on campus. All is not good at the Harvard of the East.
P.S: They plagiarised it from SS Maniyar Law College, Jalgaon.
While I agree it is the partner who speaks/meets/advises the promoters, but at least in my experience, what my partners expect from me is TO ADVISE THEM with all the actions that can be taken and they would then decide/finalize what to do.
"I can get my steno of 30 years to do the same thing that the associate does and he/she will do it far better." - Lol then do that. "Correspondent" to the amount that you will pay an associate vs what you will pay to the steno, you will be more richer.
"never try and assume the genius and success of your senior as your own." - the same thing applies to you. Let me rephrase it for you - never try and assume the genius and success of your Firm's Brand Name as your own.
Ohh yes btw, they finally hired a ▮▮▮
Can you provide a list of essays or short stories of Tagore where he did an indepth dive into the lives of a primary character who comes from dalit community (outside the chaturvarna), please dont say that there werent dalits in Bengal then (this was debunked by scholars in early 60s)
BTW I again reiterate that Rabindranath is one of the greatest poets in India, I am merely trying to highlight that there were some lacunae in his writings (as is always expected - I cannot ask Nazrul to write a Western cowboy novel)
Now, coming to the 'influential lobby of HUMAN RIGHTS professors' point. The fact that you created a dichotomy of commercial law and human rights is telling, right? How corporate law produces inequality and hierarchy is something you will not get by reading tech law or finance law. There is no human rights vs. commercial law, there is only human rights AND commercial law; they are not mutually exclusive, unlike your spurious dichotomy might suggest. So, you have to come out of your tiny hole.
If you are so concerned about the funding - where is the private sector funding? Why do law firms not fund chairs which pay so much that Cyril bhai wants to become a professor? Non-commercial law professors are less motivated by money than commercial law people (otherwise they would have opted for other careers), so let the law firms and big tech companies establish exceptionally well-paid chair professorships. Perhaps even the great commercial law professors in institutions abroad might want to come and work in India. Would work well for everyone involved, including the students, university, teachers and the country as a whole.
You might find a good partner / team, but hours won’t change. The flexibility and peace of mind you have - won’t be compensated by big firm money. Unless you really want the extra money or really want to have that Tier 1 badge, don’t apply because then you’ll have to forget you have a life.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a fool's paradise. States will fight tooth and nail for this, and NLUs will always remain state institutions.

Secondly, if you think it's gross to eat food touched by human feet, then you should google and see in what unhygienic conditions chicken is prepared. The hens poop in their cages and eat the poop. See this article by PETA, which says that you are literally eating bird poop when you eat chicken.

Male lawyers I agree. Have seen many male partners dating SA/PA females. Even seen a male partner marrying an associate. Seen many guys dating from house/lower ranking firms. Sometimes they even put pressure on ladies to give up on t1 jobs and go in house.
In the order
Gen Corp - then NO. Your life is kind of decent. Most gen corp teams leave office at 8.30. But work after reaching home. So you being completely free is good.

STILL Pending in 2023...
Why is jhanvi gadar still not in JAIL? Why is she still out chilling after killing?
If you are looking into FEMA/ODI, the articles on the website of Resolut works as well. You can also refer to blogs like Mondaq. They have a rich collection authored by various law firms.
I am in the third year of a tier 1 NLU, and am confirmed to intern next month in the CM team at IndusLaw. When can I expect a PPO? After doing callbacks till 4th year, 5th year?
