We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I know many candidates who had family crises / Life-threating disease or severe financial crunch during their peak career / formative years.
There is a reason why Govt has also fixed age for UPSC till 32 & Judiciary till 35.
We all have our different timelines to bloom .
Just because things were right and favorsble for 90% and they could get right mentoring at the right time, is not a good enough reason to disown rest 10% of candidates.
You can not silence the remaining 10% because they did not had means. It is really not about perseverence and IQ dear. They just did not had means and mentorship at the right time.
Hope you understand soon.
I have always maintained the view that Litigation is "People" management. You have to be an effective personnel managament who can have his way with court staff, your coolleagues , the Bench and the client.
For example, my senior used to often say I am not very good with client management. He thought that I strictly keep to business and dont ask "Haal Chaal " of client. As per him, I act very robotic and loose human touch with clients.
That's my short answer and 2 cents.

If it’s academic, I have to say one thing- ‘Tu Jindal peh hoke bhi fail hogeya’. Just kidding, it’s nothing if it’s non-academic.
I can become useful for a partner / firm. I will just take few minutes of your time every few weeks and do what you tell me to do.
A kind of mentorship - if you will. I am at the verge of giving up on law field. So, if you would like to connect, pls drop a throwaway email or anonymous telegram link and we can take it from there. Alternatively, you may ask for my link to connect.
Quick timing tip: I hit 'send' on Wednesdays or Thursdays, right around lunch. Seems like that's when they check their emails.
Give it a shot, and good luck!
NLS conducts NLSTIAM - they dont participate in their own moot
NALSAR conducts BRS, PIL, NALSAR-CCI - they dont participate in their own moot
NUJS conducts HSF and other moots - they dont participate in their own moot.
(Tbh this is why in selection moots, NLUD Insolvency is a low ranking preference)
Sounds like partiality
1. Have an internship ID specified in the website. This should be different from the contact us ID, so that it gets only internship related communication. For job applications, another ID should be created.
2. The HR policy of the maximum period within which a successful applicant will be reverted to gets stated specifically in the website. If it is, say 14 days, then if a student does not receive any response by then may consider that their application has been rejected for whatever reason. This will also save the HR time and effort in having to respond to unsuccessful applicants with platitudes like they are keeping the contact details of the applicant saved for later period. Let's face it, they never do get back at a later period on their own.
3. At any given time, the number of internship slots vacant can also be mentioned in the website. This number can be updated every month.
Since most law firms have people frequenting this forum, hence I am putting it out here for people to chew upon. These steps will take a fraction of time and effort to implement, but they will improve the firm's image among prospective interns and future associates by leaps and bounds.
By your username, may I know if you are a callback intern at Indus CM? I am an intern in the same team. You seem to know a lot of stuff, could we connect somehow and discuss?

Seems to be a copy-paste of the NIRF shortlist. Np Jindal or HNLU or MNLU.
I graduated from GNLU in 2016. Due to some health issues/ family reasons had to join LPO now Regretting like hell. Salary/increments are chillar. Very much worried. Why I stayed here for 7 years? Was bound to. Can't reveal here. Please advise guys how to move to In-hoise or law firms. Anybody has sailed through such boat? Help, depressed. I don't mind working even as an A0 or half salary in begining. No troll please
When I was an intern I've only used sir / ma'am but I heard in corporates they call their bosses by their first names.

How is Citadel Law in Kolkata ?
If they give notice at CAM it is not like another place will snap them up if the market is bad and there is a hiring freeze everywhere?
Would this be people only at the A3 level who would give notice given their experience level or even at A1 -A2 level?
And if in wildest dreams, even if we got hitched, toh tumse paise leta kaun ?
Email aisa dalo ki equity partner khud alumni associate ko bula ke personally gaali de.
we have used them as labels without having a clear idea as to the differentiating factors
let us have a discussion on this first
you are financially independent, you do not need societal approval to make your life choices, be whoever you want to be
work, dont work, be a mother, dont be a mother, it is upto you, dont let others or anyone else decide for you
I don't remember any Hindu being attacked for being disloyal to country when they failed to perform.
Give more info.
You just need to state the following:
1. Period you were facing difficulties.
2. You sought help.
3. That period is now behind you.
4. Mention something you were doing to spend the time (preparing for the competitive exam).
You work with the cards you are dealt with. You have to be practical about it.
If I were to place it it would be somewhere at the end of tier 1s and beginning of tier 2s.
𝐍𝐈𝐑𝐅 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐝. A major chunk (35%) of the rankings depends directly on the size of the college.
One might have philosophical differences with the parameters used by NIRF. Some might find faults in its methodology of collecting data. Others might question the veracity of the data submitted by colleges.
All these are mere details compared to the fundamental flaws in the ranking parameters. The biggest flaw of NIRF (and international rankings too) is that 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞.
In the graphs below, we have plotted four different NIRF parameters against Student Strength (also a NIRF parameter). All of them are highly dependent on the size of the institution. Altogether they make up 35% of NIRF rankings.
𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 (6% weightage) : Why is this a parameter in the first place? Size can never be an indicator of quality!
𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (10.5%) : NIRF counts the total number of publications from an institution. It follows that bigger the institution, more the number of publications. You don't need to be a 'data scientist' to understand that number of publications should be counted in terms of per-capita.
𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (10%) : This parameter is the most problematic of all parameters. Firstly, it is highly subjective and ascertained through a survey. More importantly, we see in the graph that it is also highly dependent on size. This is not surprising as the bigger the college, the more known it is (through advertisements etc.).
𝐈𝐏 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 (4.5%) : Same problem as number of publications. Counting total number without dividing by the size is again giving advantage to bigger institutions.
𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 (4%) : If the college is big, it will have more PhD students (Duh!).
Total weight = 6% + 10.5% + 10% + 4.5% + 4% = 35%
Instead of doing all this, 𝐍𝐈𝐑𝐅 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐮𝐭 35% 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞 and it wouldn't change the rankings much. That's how stupid the current parameters are.
Given this, any college can climb up the rankings quite simply by 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞. In fact many private universities have done exactly that, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭. Students are being cheated and used by these colleges.
This is just the surface of what is wrong with NIRF. It is crazy that they have 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 6 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 and no one at NIRF has noticed or corrected this.
We hope this analysis reaches them and helps correct these glaring mistakes.
If teaching is what you have always wanted to do, then you should definitely switch. It definitely has good work life balance. Though you can hit a plateau in Teaching - there is no growth after certain years unless you plan to open a Coaching (Online/Offline).
As far as subject is concerned, Constitutional / Criminal Law is evergreen, but I will suggest you to do Masters/Specialization in emerging domain like Corporate Law, International Taxation , IPR Laws , Taxation Laws , Media Laws etc. Because demand for professors in these areas are and will be MUCH more in NLUs. Everybody is doing phD in Constitutional or criminal law.
If luck favors you, you will be teaching a gorgeous course like International Taxation Laws in one of the Top NLUs. Who knows you may provide classes to international students too, online.
By the way, I am curious to know more about Delhi-Litigation scene , I am considering to shift to better forums and cities. If you would like to talk , I will drop a link in next response.
I want to know more about glc, for taking proper decision...
