This is exactly the mindset which has aided the rise of BJP.

Anyhow, the intellectuals are Arun Shourie and Sitaram Goel
The single most important reason we cannot save is because the government overtaxes us, in order to subsidise freeloader farmers, thieving politicians and corrupt businessmen, along with the wasteful welfare state. We pay more taxes than many crorepatis.
Ha ha, exactly! If I had a friend buying me nice things like MM has, my savings would be treble!
Ouch. That has to be one of the best retorts on LI ever, imagine this in real life and the guy asking "who is x" would be running away with his tail between his legs
Is to switch to foreign law firms if someone practices corporate investigates focusing on FCPA violations, UK bribery act etc?
You can get a spacious (450 - 500 sq ft) 1BHK Flat in Dadar, Prabhadevi, Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Currey Road area in a niche locality
Intern under Venkatesh Dhund, Senior Advocate. a great lawyer also great place to intern. you get 15,000 as stipend and the work culture is fantastic.
There is no physical internship in the Delhi office... Mumbai would be better learning, but at the end of the day no PPO
True, most NLUs are centred around UG program only or as NALSAR clearly spells out in its brochure, its LLM is for people looking to move into academics.
Apart from NLS, NALSAR and NUJS; SLS, Pune has a very solid alumni base with very accomodating folks across law firms and leading in-house roles. Go for it without any doubt!
100 reacts on LinkedIn posts without anyone reading the paper that u spent a year on!
Same brother. 35. Unemployed. Tryst with competitive exams has ended. Finally going back to courts. Hang in there. If not in our 30s, hope our 40s are better. *Sad face emoji
By the time OP even has a chance to sit for the interview, he'll need atleast 2 years to clear his backlogs.
Yes sure, any form of categorization is apartheid. Surely you're not the best at international / human rights law.
I am neither a student nor a faculty at Jindal, but even I've seen those comments. So he/she isn't wrong.
Centre right / RW are in business / science / technology. LW are in academia. Former helps the world a lot more than writing articles on how Indian muslims are scared of Hindu temples and what can be done to change that
I would classify Yogesh Pai of NLUD as centre-right and Suvrajyoti Gupta of Jindal as right-wing proper (he also founded the Jindal Conservative Society).
What is the primary reason behind the high attrition rates at law firms? Is it because of the workload or the requirement to be well aware of different sorts of complex laws, rules and regulations that are intrinsic to the practice?
Coz u are jerks who cleared an average exam with above average expectations.Dont ever compare yourself with real elites like IIMs IIT grads
Waise to history and geography are also redundant. It's a basic education and isn't optional.
you're literally given a BA. now you want it without doing any B.A. courses? UGC se baat kar ke bhai. you don't get a law degree after only studying law in our country.
I agree with the BA subjects being extremely redundant. I thought Tax as a subject is optional unless elected. Keeping it compulsory for all, especially for someone intending to pursue judiciary or any other competitive exam is a little tough to manage.
Do a PhD. It's very hard to make it anywhere without one. Choose where wisely since it will affect your access to different markets and institutions and will probably affect your bargaining power.
No. Bhai bacha lega. Delhi to Mumbai to Ahmedabad to Delhi phone chain chalegi. Khoon aakhir khoon hota hai.

In any case that loud and foul mouthed crass screecher needs to be locked up.
I am not sure if you can classify Indus here as a boutique firm. They are a full service firm now with offices across 5 offices and over 400 lawyers.
Top notch team. Quality work. One of the best teams at AZB. Hats off to the guy and his junior partner Jeet for running the team so well
She had left because she refused to sign off on questionable monetary dealings taking place there.
Your drafting skills fall short even compared to the most average hire this firm has seen. It's hard to imagine you lasting more than a week as an associate with that level of proficiency.
But one of my seniors in Bain told me his in hand pay is only 1.8L even tho graduated at 26 whereas law firms pay more in hand
Guys pls give the truthful correct situation. Need to bag a ppo with average grades (day 0 isnt an option bcs of this factor). Will they hand out ppos in corp team?
Maybe for your team. But hiring is on at full force in the Corporate practice.
Did you just use a racist term on a fellow Indian? Lol you aunties are such sad cases, would go to the PS for a report on "N" word but come to LI and spew this.
Post COVID, these college are running dry. They'll give your nan a LLM if she's ready to pay full fees.
Will gc hire a 2025 t1 nlu kid? Or should I change teams, please give a credible answer
Being a lawyer and IIM K graduate, I can tell IIM grads actually earns more on average. The reason clearly is because they are the core business people. Lawyers come for specific role for paperwork etc. They are not generating value from business perspective.
This is the most realistic advice. 16 backlogs!! That's more than the number of courses we have in a year. It's a task in itself to accumulate so many backlogs!
If you're going to be interning at KCO Kolkata, the local favourites are Samrat (for local 'chinese') and Little Place. Good places to deliver from are MomoIAm and Blue Poppy. DO NOT order from Wow Momo! (I'm assuming you were looking for cheap local options).
Aayega bhai Aayega.

40% of what they are making is a great sucess in 7 years. 10 years down the line you will be doing better, hopefully.
I did law from a T1 and had lof if backlogs however in our college they dint write F against subject names. I got saved.
2017 batch - first gen, non T1 lawyer, 45L in 6ish years - and I don't think I save a lot as I don't want to suffocate myself in early years.
I remember sitting for my placement interview and everything was based on my CV and interview and they only asked for my transcripts post my selection and that too only the final one that is issued by your university at the end for your degree.
I am also looking for an answer to a similar question. Can someone please confirm!?!?
promised land is for your kids. You will start earning when you are 45-50. By that time, u will spend more money on your kids than on yourself
Can anyone recommend good book stores in fort which has a Leather Bound Pocket editions of EBC bare acts and also a good collection of commentaries + other non-fiction law books by Indian authors. Tried to look for an EBC store but couldn't find any.
+1! These BA subjects should be made optional/part of electives. Law is a professional course and should focus more on subjects that will come handy while practicing.
Exactly! They can actually bring this back again! but Kian is kinda ded now
37, 1st gen lawyer, decided to stay in home city, so limited income, but also limited expenses. savings of 2 cr. I live a fairly carefree life, and spend whatever I feel like.
Not all Indians do so but those who do I want to say that hate for Muslims has paralyzed their brains when Hitler killed these traitor Jews they supported Hitler now now when these traitors are killing Muslims they are supporting them
However, it could but LI is very humble not considering to monities the traffic it gathers from legal fratenuty.:)
Replying to your own comment should be banned somehow, if it's someone else, shame on you too.
Do you know that half the people there are trafficked there? Please don't make such insensitive jokes. Also the conditions in which they are treated is very abysmal and bad.
On the contrary, the tax syllabus should be doubled and replace sociology, history, political science and human rights.
Fresh rumors regarding few illegal appointments made to appease someone of the Exam Committee. Rumors have reached Executive Council and the appointment seems to have been cancelled with immediate effect. Vijju dada
I joined litigation right out of a T1 NLU, it's been 7 years. Can someone show me where the promised land is? I'm still making (in Delhi) maybe 40% of what my peers who took corp jobs make.
Its always easy to showoff one's privileges then to generously pass on knowledge and experience. Surely so called good law school failed to imbibe human values.
Guys I have internship offers from both the firms in the disputes team. Which one would be better considering i am in my 3rd year and i want to pursue litigation in future.
iiuler does not offer more than ugc salary, that was one of reasons for the departure of the first vc
Vaidhya is a v good mentor… cares for his associates and superb with his work…
Good work, great clients, not a sweatshop. People get treated well… will find it difficult to survive if not v good with work…
Will be good to know the type of work that they are doing and also their pay scale.
Soli Sorabjee is a person. Cyril Amarchand is a law firm headed by a person named Cyril Shroff. So your homework before posting like an ignorant jackass!
What the hell are you smoking? OP give CLAT and aim for NLS. Progress further for a PhD if you wish from abroad. But you need NLS at any cost for LLM. Especially if you're a non-nlu llb.
Do not intern there. Repeat, DO NOT INTERN THERE. You'll regret your existence.
32. Unemployed. Looking for teaching jobs. Living in streets. Yes we exist ! Not everything is roses.
Been in a T1 since graduation (no sabbaticals or transitions).

About 13L in investments + cash and about 1.5L in liabilities.

Hoping to wipe off liabilities once the bonus hits. Will then think of financing a home.
Every team in Indus, Delhi operates in hybrid mode where the partner does not even have any idea that you exist. Should be avoided at all costs.
Can one shift from being an associate with 1+ PQE in the above-mentioned consulting firms to legal corporate firms in the tax/complaint area?
Thanks. Look forward to more insights from others as well, including on recruitment as generally LLMs are not seen as a significant value edition in corp law jobss.
The tilt towards STEM will solve this problem. There will be hundreds of people who will readily pay Rs 1 crore to study medicine. This will take away the financial burden away from the law school to underwrite the non-performing schools.
