We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

However, in spite of those evidently crushing disappointments, he had built a name for himself within the firm & the industry enough for a name partner at a legacy law firm to take note and offer him a big position. [I've heard that this primarily happened because he had worked on a big deal with the said name partner being on the other side.] Either way, it's taken some time but he's doing exceedingly well these days & seemed to be a happy person overall. So it eventually works out, I guess?
1. NLU vs non-NLU - Please don't fret over this too long. Merit is what matters the most. NLU gives you the tag to get into the room at times, but doesn't keep you there. It's only hard work that keeps you there. A corollary - non nlu kids are equally smart and capable bit may be get the opportunity a bit later at times. So don't worry about it too much. I've seen non NLU kids suffer and bl
For the confidence issues/depression, please see a therapist or counsellor. They have techniques and tools to help you based on the details of your situation. As someone who has been there and recovered, it helps. All the best.

A penultimate year law student. I am seeking guidance in the following:
1. How to exactly go about applying for assessment internships? Should I just mention "assessment internship" in the mail instead of "internship"?
2. Would cold- emailing partners of law firms asking assessment internship be helpful? Has anyone had a positive outcome from that?
I really request that this post is not ignored by the people who've had any sort of experience in these areas. I am very sincerely asking for some guidance. Thank you!
PS: I can be completely wrong on this subject.
Find me one student who joined after leaving NLS, Nalsar or NLU Delhi.
I doubt anyone leaves NUJS or NLU Jodhpur for GNLU.
You have to work hard before talking big here
Capital Markets - Crawford
Generally lower Nlus and Pvt college peeps come and write bad things about RMLNLU. You couldn't get there bro.
As a proud alum of GNLU, I am deeply appreciative of the education, job opportunities, social connections, and personal growth that this institution has provided me. I truly believe that GNLU is continuously evolving and improving.
However, I urge current students and others engaging in online discussions to refrain from spreading nonsensical propaganda. GNLU's progress is a result of the commendable achievements of its alumni and senior students in various fields such as corporate roles, UPSC, Rhodes, foreign scholarships and beyond. Rather than indulging in PR exercises, let us prioritize our work and actions. Enhancing GNLU's reputation should stem from tangible contributions: excelling in academics, winning national and international competitions, and consistently demonstrating excellence in all endeavors.
I request all students to STOP this self-promotional content and instead concentrate on your academic pursuits and professional growth.
Let our actions and achievements speak louder than mere words.
Best regards,
GNLU Alumnus
Incidentally, a Nobel laureate was chief guest at the convocation. This shatters the myth that IIT/STEM students are right wing, or lack the courage to speak out. That only humanities students at JNU and Ashoka are protesting. Conversely raises the question why the Palestine solidarity movement has been so weak at NLUs, Jindal and other law schools. Another point to think about is this. The student openly took on recruiters. Will NLU/Jindal students openly criticise T1 law firms that represent corporates like Adani and Ambani, which are involved in many unethical activities and also support Modi?

You can't.
FBI, open up!
and what is the general reputation of the niversity in legal circles (both litigation and placement wise)
please someone enlighten
That’s the current placement ranking.
when i was interning there me & an intern hacked there server through **** and accesed - OG drafts, accounts info, and their clients data, now tell me how to use these ethically.
Their company had very serious regulatory issues that even their CS heads had failed to notice.
My partner had a field day with them wrt non compliance. I am pretty sure the senior management must have cried that evening.
This however? I'd suggest you at least join a good private institute like Symbi, NMIMS, NIRMA or Jindal - if you then still wish, you can give CLAT once more.
I got through a T2 NLU on my first attempt as a GC student, but would have gotten a T1 if I hadn't burned out from the variety of exams across fields my parents forced me to give (IPMAT, BBA and so on) - I also have ADHD so it is hell to focus on a timed exam.
I planned to give CLAT again the next year, but COVID was the kabab me haddi, plus it didn't seem worth it to me to risk COVID to give CLAT again when I already had a decent NLU.
I did well enough for myself here, and I suggest you buckle up for the same. I've said all of this to give a perspective; yes top NLUs are prestigious, but it is not the end all be all.
Its good btw that most of the caste are agitating to be categorised into OBC and they will be eventually. Apart from Brahmin everyone can be OBC and must be. So what you will see soon in coming 20-30 years is TN style OBV politics in India. Which is good , though SC dont really have a voice there.
Maybe Jitni Abaadi Utna Haq will be a silver lining in which all non brahmin can be categorised into OBC.
Only SC dont have ao called accrued privilege, and is given on account of oppression. Rest ST is area based, many brahmin and Rajputs come under ST.
OBC is meme category which will eventually lead us to lebanonization of india. Its good in a sense all these hindus chindus ekta ka natak kahtam hoga and we can the purely transact on caste basis.
No party can touch it thats why either take it to extreme that is demanded by landlord castes or subdivide by implementing classification on the basis of substantive justice and equality. Rohini commission in step in that direction.
2.) BA LLB or BBA LLB (commerce students)
Pls suggest.
