1. Jindal has good faculty who train the students well.

2. No expense is spared to give the teams whatever support they want. Teams don’t waste time begging to law firms for funds.

3. Very good students who would otherwise have been in NLUs are heading to Jindal nowadays, thanks to all kinds of quotas and reservation in NLUs pushing them out.

4. Most Jindal students are anyway from elite ICSE/IB schools and have highly developed reading, writing and speaking skills in English. This gives you a natural edge in moots.

5. Finally, there is no incestuous NLU cabal when it comes to judging foreign moots. If anything, many foreign judges have heard of Jindal but not certain NLUs, because Jindal has extensive international tie-ups abroad and sends many students abroad each year.

I am a salaried partner and my equity partner doesn’t refer any work to me. He doesn’t even intend on helping me become an equity partner and doesn’t guide me in doing BD. Yes- I was always someone with long thick hair due to my South Indian genes, but after becoming an associate my hair started thinning and now as a PA I have very scanty and poor quality hair. (1 month). I have a Best Memorial Award at Surana and Surana Moot Court Competition as well.

But the real bottom of the barrel people in this world are the ones judging the capability of lawyers based on which college they ended up in through the lottery of an exam called CLAT, and then based on their interest or disinterest in kissing ass and wasting time in college to get grades that don’t matter for shit.

If you were or are serious about M&A / Corproate, there are a thousand things you can do to stand out in the job market. Learn tax from CTC's very low-priced courses. You will also meet many folks in the field. It's a mistake to thing lawyers run M&A deals. It's the tax, investment bankers and management consultants who run the show. Lawyers are merely to document things. So engage with other stakeholders. You can do an PE/VC course, investment banking course, etc. They are all available from top universities on Coursera. Then meet CS and CA firms, they can be your first break and you will have a great addition to resume for firms.

The harsh reality is that for 1 job in law there are 10,000 candidates. Accept it and compete.

Being an PA in a T1, I've seen kids from Christ are hard working and sharp. They are sharper than many of the NLU kids I've seen interning including some of the associates who are working with us. I think it's the culture and I've seen not one but many interns, some of whom are also converted because of their honesty, discipline and hard work, are down to earth, ask questions, do their job and go home.

I am a student at a mid-tier NLU and I wish to apply for a Master’s degree abroad, specifically in the UK. The only concern I have is that I’ve had three backlogs — two in the 4th semester and one in the 6th semester.

That said, I have a fairly strong profile overall: I’ve participated in and won various competitions and moots, interned at Tier-1 law firms as well as reputed chambers, completed a policy internship abroad, and published multiple blogs and papers.

My main concern is whether these backlogs will significantly affect my chances of getting into a good master’s program. As far as I know, my university transcript does not explicitly mention reappears or retests. Instead, it just updates the date of passing. For example, if I failed a 6th semester paper in 2024 but cleared it in 2025, then the entire 6th semester would be shown as passed in 2025 on my transcript — alongside the 8th semester, which I would also pass in 2025.

Could you please advise me on how this might impact my application? I am very tensed.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the UK Supreme Court decision saying trans women are not women?

From what I understand, they basically said there are only two sexes and this is determined at birth. You are born either male or female and you can’t transition into either. This goes against the current views held by gender studies professors and human rights activists. They could have at least have held that there is a third sex and mandated third gender toilets like in India. It seems to be a conservative decision by conservative judges, aligning with views of right-wing figures like Trump, JK Rowling etc.

Interned with the firm recently, the HR does not treat interns with kindness. The team was toxic, they used to call at 2/3 am to give work which was to be due in the morning. Used to work atleast 11-12 hours a day. Got very lil mentorship over the mandatory assignments for internship. Overall very bad experience.
