What are everyone’s thoughts on the UK Supreme Court decision saying trans women are not women?

From what I understand, they basically said there are only two sexes and this is determined at birth. You are born either male or female and you can’t transition into either. This goes against the current views held by gender studies professors and human rights activists. They could have at least have held that there is a third sex and mandated third gender toilets like in India. It seems to be a conservative decision by conservative judges, aligning with views of right-wing figures like Trump, JK Rowling etc.

Are these humanities professors/ activists scientists or genetic experts? Or just some randos with some weird views pushing through their political agenda on a matter of science? There are inherent biological differences between males and females. XX chromosomes make a female, fake eyelashes and feelings don't. It is dangerous if you let biological males invade women's spaces. Women's rights activists should hail this judgement, not condemn it.

gender studies professors are not biologists. And there are no human rights that require the world to believe a blatant lie. There are only two sexes in mammals. This is not a situation where a compromise is acceptable. It's like if galileo said the earth revolved around the sun and the church said the sun revolved around the earth and you said- well the clergy seem to think that the sun revolves around the earth, at least they should compromise and decide the earth and the sun both revolve around the moon. That's silly.

Did you read the judgment? tell me which judge on the court is conservative? you dont know do you? conservative is just a word youre throwing out there thats not based in reality and thats meant to make people react in a tribal way. The judgment is not conservative. Its actually just really sharp work on interpretation of statutes and how to read the equality act.

JK Rowling has voted labour her entire life. sets up rape crisis centres for women, sends money to get women out of afghanistan, gives to gay rights charities. its really disingenuous to claim that shes some sort of right wing figure. What about Julie Bindel? is she right wing too? Kathleen Stock? Kara Dansky? Martina Navratilova? Germaine Greer? Nina Paley? You want to conflate all of these lefty women with Trump because you dont want to consider if you might be wrong. Most communist regimes in the world have always been very suppressive of individual rights and liberty. Stalin outlawed homosexuality in erstwhile USSR, which was not repealed until the regime came crashing down. The hero of modern day lefties, Che Guereva, along with his mentor Castro were known to be vocal homophobes and racists. Communist China continues to censor queer media (well, pretty much any media which they do not agree with). Civil rights for gay and trans people have been primarily spearheaded in Western free market capitalist countries by center left to center right political parties (circa 2001, the Netherlands), not by pro-authoritarianism commie whackjobs.

Personally, I strongly support trans rights, but I feel many activists shot their own feet by needlessly pushing on the sports issue-- something that is unfortunately, unjust.
