I sincerely request someone to please answer. I would have to plan for and schedule my internships accordingly.
Singapore and middle class east yes. Frankly US and London is more difficult get into. There is a lot of activity in Singapore and ME - so go for it.
They hire only for London. No foreign firm has an office in Malaysia. A simple google search can answer some of these questions.
A certain international firm (not Magic Circle) offered me a role based in the UAE but I turned it down for obvious reasons. Singapore is okay-okay at best, but absolutely avoid countries like Malaysia and the UAE. Malaysia more in particular.
I understand. Is this exclusion solely due to recognition of regulatory complications, or are there are any other factors? And apologies, but could you please elaborate upon the 'obvious' reasons? I find myself oblivious to them.
Would be very helpful if you could tell what the reasons are to not work in the UAE. A lot of us don't know these reasons.
lots of visa issues for singapore the govt does not recognise indian law degrees you are better off lateraling with work ex
Okay, so there is simply no scope of a being directly recruited to work in Singapore (without complications)? And what amount (and practice area) of work experience would you recommend for such a switch?
Banking and Finance/Capital Markets minimum 2-3 years to be hired as a junior associate/legal assistant - more is better pref SA level in India
This was very helpful. Thank you so much. I will look to intern in the areas that you've mentioned. Also, does/can TMT law offer similar opportunities to move abroad?
Unfortunately, no. TMT laws vary with jurisdiction and the vertical itself is considered very specialised, making lateral shift difficult.
Can a b&f lawyer doing good transactions in a tier 3 firm move to UAE? Does the brand of law firm matter?
