We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Obvious question to ask is why NLU alum are not similarly donating. Those earning 5 cr a month as Senior Advocates can easily donate Rs 10 cr each.
We can all guess which company! But while I am not a fan of this company, Soros is a prick who funds some questionable causes and is trying to stir up trouble in India prior to the elections. Ideology aside, let’s also remember that he profits from short-selling, similar to Hindenberg.
What NLS thinks today , we think tomorrow
Funny how the moderator moderated comment championing the nlus
Although Nishith Desai is not a NLU graduate, but he also falls in this list since he also started NDA from scratch.
I bet there will be a lot more examples as well!
No matter what B Schools tell GMAT is primarily important. 730+ scores for Indians perhaps. Then other scores like GRE, TOEFL etc.
Then quality of work experience. Were you given early promotions, etc. And type of work like were you a corporate lawyer. Amount of work like 3+ yrs.
Then your statements and recommendation letters. I doubt whether adcoms will be unaware of NLUs and firms, they must be having a list of target schools and programmes and they must be aware of NLUs. But things are not as simple as branding.
Your chances infact might increase because you add to the diversity of a MBA programme as a LLB Lawyer.
For now get a Excell GMAT score. Leverage your work exp. Write excellent essays. Get excellent LORs. I don't see anything that stands in your way. Infact foreign B Schools get lesser applications than IIM A.
A final year student at HNLU committed suicide earlier this afternoon. At 4:30 pm the VC, Dr. Vivekanandan, and the Registrar, Vipan Kumar concerned an emergency meet in the auditorium. The VC began by saying "this is a unforeseen incident. ▮▮▮ She was definitely not depressed because her CGPA was good and her internships were also good. I don't know how this happened, because everything was going so well." The way the VC implies that the loss of this life was a impediment ▮▮▮ makes one pukish. The meeting is concerned to speak of shock and loss. You inform, pray for the soul, take 2 mins of silence. ▮▮▮
May her soul rest in peace ▮▮▮.
Don't know where you are getting your information from.
Your thoughts on this record-breaking MOU?
However, if you wish to come back to India, IIMA should be your first priority. While its true that the real asset B-schools is its prestige and cohort you studied with, IIM-A should do finely given the fact that most biggies in biggie companies in India are an alumnus of IIM ABC!
Thanks for that clarification. This exactly is what I guess most people mean when they have this NLU/Non-NLU convo. The access to a well-established alumni base or connections within the family that the kids can use vs those that can't.
i. Yes. I had a batchmate with a 170+ CLAT rank (but within 200). The only reason he could not join was because he had lost his father right before his boards and there was no way a lower-middle class widow could send her son away to college that would cost her this much. This is not the only time. Have come across other kids on whom life had taken an unfortunate toll.
Regarding iii. Come on man he wanted to join a boutique law firm right at its inception (from what the OP has cleared). Its not like he is whining about a top-tier law firm. I am from a state university and I know differences exist and rightly so. Better faculties, better connections, better alumni network- all of these play a big part. But that doesn't mean OP or others here are not 'relevant' in their profession and would be snubbed by each and every law firm out there.
Also thanks for the non-trollish comment. Baki do naujawan toh censored mey hi kho gaye! Cheers mate!
3.5 years later, we got married and our having our best time together.

i) Top Tier NLUs are an investment, not a luxury. If someone takes a loan to study at them he/she will surely get the ROI. Plus a lot of scholarships are also available
ii) We live in India bro, Tu Africa se aya hai to not our problem.
iii) Everyone wants growth , who doesn't, but at what cost?
Also for statistics, the conviction rate for 498a or any other crime in India is below 1 percent, so ur safe, don't be the victim everywhere

Population is higher than ever along with access to education and the dream for living the high life naturally resulting in higher than ever competition.
Markets are evolving and older skills are becoming redundant extremely fast. Most new workers need to know skills from multiple disciplines nowadays.
How tf are can an entire generation be the laziest and the richest in such circumstances? Some individuals from that generation are, but that sure isn't the norm.
Anyone else heard the same?

For client meetings, it's best to smell expensive but restrained. Get a Dior Fahrenheit or a Prada Luna Rossa range.
For when you're socialising, you want to project but not suffocate. Consider a louder perfume like the Sauvage EDT, YSL Y or the Azzaro Wanted lineup.
If you're on a budget, stick to Zara's lineup which are all clones of popular expensive perfumes with scaled down performance. The Seoul is a good all day use frag.
If you're not on a budget, step into the world of Tom Ford, Versace Atelier etc.

Pool system.
Transgenders suffer violence and discrimination because of their non-conformity and their distinctive gender/sex identity, they suffer discrimination solely on the ground of their gender-identity and they are often prohibited from entering many places this is why there is provision for them in Transgender Persons Act, 2019 i.e., denial of the right of passage in public place. They suffer from the curse of untouchability. Their mother and father abandon them from the time of birth. While coming out they suffer from assault and threat to their life from their own family member. They are killed solely on the ground of their gender/sex identity. They are aborted due to their sexual mark. They are subjected to surgery without their consent from their birth. They often drop out from school and run away from their abusive home. They often resort to prostitution and begging. They suffer isolation and a sense of abandonment from their family member. They fear from public so enrolled themselves in distance education.
What more do you need to know? Have you seen anyone suffer from such severe kind of disabilities. Does EWS/SC/ST/OBC face untouchability, abandonment, threat to their life from their own family, denial of the right of passage. The Transgender community does not hold political power due to their extreme backwardness.
Now I have myself wrote to the Chief Minister of Delhi to register one seat for me in NLUD by issuing a Government Order in the memory of supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh so as to pay homage to the sons who fought for the faith of the motherland.
I am seeking reservation on the basis of exemplary achievement in the field of social work through the agency of law and Constitution of India.
I cannot get in NLUD from AILET -2024, and now my fate lies with the Atishi Singh Education Minister of NCT of Delhi.
2. Are the responsibilities of a SA1 bigger than A2s at other t1s, or is this just difference in names of posts and you are still effectively treated as an A2?

I see most of IIT grads bagging Indian seats at M7 schools. Off late, I have seen a few NLU grads going for H/S/W MBA. Having researched on various forums like Reddit, my general impression is that M7 schools mostly recruit from elite Indian schools such IIT, BITS and SRCC.
Now I understand NLUs are also elite law programs and command good respect in the country, however, I was just worried if my admission chances would be hurt because the adcoms would probably not be aware of the existence of NLUs in India.
Also, most of us work at domestic law firms. Howsoever good they maybe, but adcoms in US b schools wouldn’t be aware of these firms.
Either way, it's not a good situation for you.
And how can one maximise his/her learning?
What are the best places to intern and aim for?
ii. Valid reason but rarely the case.
iii. If you wanna stay in your shell forever then settle for a job that allows you to stay inside your shell and not look for growth or improvement.
