Do you know what this kind of entitlement looks like a few years later in the workplace?
1. Expecting women to take notes in any meeting (because she has nice handwriting, because she always does it, because she's the responsible one, etc.) All of these are lazy excuses for your privilege and entitlement. If she has nice handwriting, remember that it is because she was socialized a certain way from birth since she is a woman, and because she is putting in actual effort. Please step up and be better than the generations that came before you.
2. Expecting women to do all the emotional labour like remembering people's birthdays, organizing events at work, doing anything that involves caring for people (again, because women are "naturally caring" or they're just better at it than men) This is also a pathetic excuse, please do better. This happens even if there is a designated HR in an organization.
Do you think you're a senior advocate in litigation who can take notes from a junior and just get by without doing the grunt work? How on earth can you be so entitled as to expect some girl to give you notes? She pays attention, she puts the effort into transcribing it into notes, and then some guys expect them for free because of their gender. Please do better, this behaviour is disgusting.
Being in the mid of Law school Journey, even I want to do judiciary. But when I look at my batchmates, and other batches too, people are running like hell just for law firms. Moots, Internships, Publications, just for getting law firm Internships. So, in such circumstances it gets quite demotivating for me that I am preparing for Judiciary.
I know it happens with lot of students, may you please give some perspective.
The Guy must have been truly deserving if an opportunity was given to him. Yes, the ratio of job/job-seekers is less than one , but that does not mean that the employer did a Favor to him. Otherwise, I am always here, you know what I posted above. Give me an opportunity ? Talk to HR and Partner.
He joined of his own accord, he left of his own accord. It was completely on to him. No employer or co-worker owns life of an employee. Please keep business strictly to business.
On a second note, since you still seem so burnt up even after about 10 days of that incidents - we have strong reasons to assume that you are that partner who allegedly misbehaved (or someone similar).
i want to work in GCA , M&A , JV & PE. Are these all separate practise areas? Or can be done simultaneously?
I'm not too sure tho, so don't take my word for this
Now the girl all of a sudden is behaving in an aloof manner and avoiding guys and not sharing notes. She got brainwashed by the gang. I think it’s pretty mean of the gang tbh. ☹️ The whole point of college life is to help each other out. We share movies, Uber rides, food and treats etc. We help each other during medical emergencies etc. We are away from home and live together like a family. So why this unnecessary politics? Just to clarify, I have nothing against feminism. But I don’t see why it’s being brought in here.

With GNLU admin bringing about a well-intentioned and good attendance policy of having minimum 70 percentage attendance, some students suddenly are asking for exemptions since they are the Core members of Comm.
To all of them I just want to say that I know how much all of u actually work for the Comm and how many exemptions u all actually deserve. So better not to gi ahead with this stupid plan, since even if u all resign it's not going to make even a slight diff, since most of the Convenors and Core members of any Cimm in GNLU are easily replaceable and none of them have an aura about them that our pass out seniors had. So any of the core member of any Comm would not make any difference.
I would request the admin that if u are reading this kindly ignore if any such resignations happen, its's just a way fo the students to built pressure. Let all these students have attendance back, then only they will understand.
The present attendance policy is robust and most students support it. Keep up the good work GNLU admin. (I am myself a student and will continue to provide any insider info if and when I get). Don't let these useless Convenors decide anything, let them resign, won't make any difference.
Checked ISB fees. Plan dropped.
Next up maybe CA . Not sure if I can devote 3-5 years in that too.
I will continue to write on this website with same username though (user-01).
Arre OP Madam , I am serious.

Usually it is a long curve to hit that magic no.
your indian llm scores do not matter when you apply for llm in the uk as the admissions team will check your llb marks, however, the llm will allow you to spin a story saying that there were some hardships during llb (covid) which led to low scores and you have compensated for it in llm. this story and the added experience will help you to get into mid Russell like Leeds, Sheffield, QMUL etc.
Top Russell like Oxbridge, LSE etc. will not take you in unless you do tremendously well in LLM
Tell me how much you have scored in your LLB and the type of college you have done your UG, I will let you know which unis to apply to in the UK (irrespective of your LLM scores)
most of these cities don't have a cosmoplitan culture like delhi - so clients will come based on things like caste, family network
If you want to learn court procedure as well - join an AoR with good work flow and then a SC senior - 2 years each.
In both cases - spend your time networking with lawyers who can refer you SC work 5 years down the line.
If you want to be HC lawyer - start in trial court. First appeals require knowledge of procedure, evidence etc which can only be learnt at trial courts.
If you are good with getting clients (people person) but may not be 'intellectual' enough for other lawyers to engage you then start and stay in Trial court. I can be a very good low stress gig if you crack it!
Lately, you must've seen plenty of posts on NUJS. It's not that we did not try to resolve these matters internally, but almost every attempt led in a complete failure. It escalated so much that we witnessed our first mass protests on campus post Covid. Only after that, some grievances were amicably resolved.
Another reason behind more publicity is probably how the admin itself tried to suppress our freedom of speech. When the Bsc LLB course was introduced (with no consultation with rest of the GB or anyone), a student from 4th year circulated a document stating why people should enrolling. Nothing in the document was defamatory in any matter, and did not degrade anyone outright. It mostly mentioned the excessive high fees, poor placement prospective for the new batch and lack of space on the main campus. Yet, the VC was so offended with the move that he publicly show-caused the student for merely expressing his own opinion in his individual capacity. He has become completely intolerant to any form of criticism, which is the reason why more and more students are resorting to anonymous platforms like Legally India to vent out their concerns. NUJS has always prided itself for having a liberal and open-minded atmosphere; but the recent acts by the admin completely goes against the ethos of the university. I agree that "academic rigor" should not be compromised, but none of the admin's new moves would help to bolster it in any manner.
P.S: If someone from the college administration / pro-admin people is reading this, take a deep breath before you are offended once again. Sending more show-cause notices to students would not help to contain spread of college gossip on public forums, but do the EXACT OPPOSITE. Instead, have constructive talks with the GB and at least try to understand our issues.
Signing off, have a good day.
Non STEM PhDs are generally waste of time and resources.
If you have any technical reason that you know of that the post might have been flagged incorrectly, please let us know.
About AILET, everyone knows it is a scam and unethical attempt to bleed aspirants. It did the same to you too. I'm sure you sat for CLAT and AILET both. But you have been brainwashed into thinking that it is necessary. Everytime people point that out, you start shouting about how difficult the exam is, without any rhyme or reason.
But I guess once you manage to carve out a space, substantial money is there at trial level as well.
Guide please.
So my question is after doing LLM in India, and then I apply for another LLM in abroad. Will they consider my LLM in India score for abroad LLM?
Any good young undesignated counsel in Bombay HC in criminal, commercial, IPR, tax, arbitration etc who argue well and get good hearings and held in regard in the HC?
Seniors please throw some light.
Going outside the campus feels like a logistic problem solving :P
I am also an A3 in a tier2 law firm working in the same space. I personally follow these to improve my work product (also if the A0s want to take this approach, you can):
1. Do the best in DD work, because you learn maximum about laws from DD (and people who feel DD is not work, are not focused on their overall growth as a lawyer);
2. I keep revising my concepts regarding companies act and the ancillary rules (because why not);
3. Read different transaction docx, as that will help understand different constructs that are there and what not;
4. I put in more efforts improving my written language, be it emails to seniors, to clients and ofc in the documents;
5. Pester your seniors (whenever it’s necessary) to clarify your doubts and you can ask from your peers too (to grow as a lawyer in this space, there should be no shame in asking from your peers);
6. Be sincere towards your work but not at the cost of your mental health;
7. Read up the FEMA laws as you cannot learn FEMA overnight or for a matter of fact over 3 years too, because reading and clearing concepts will take you places (This is a personal approach I take as my FEMA is a weak point); and
8. Listen to calls/ negotiations with opposite counsels carefully as that will help too in improving your knowledge and lingo in this space.
*the above points are a personal way to deal with work and improve.
Hope this helps,
Thanks
The powers that be have taken advantage of your silence.
And how come SC/ST/OBC reservation continues year after year but women's reservation is time bound?
