Still, if your budget permits, maybe a grand seiko? Or a Tag Heuer Carrera (always wanted one personally).
*Speedmaster will set you back 6.5L minimum so I’m assuming GS and TAG wouldn’t be a problem since they both cost lesser than an Omega.

What are a few things which set apart the best speakers of ANY moot court competition, can’t seem to figure out the difference. Any suggestions/ advice would be really appreciated, thanks

I can’t get into the details for personal and legal reasons.
I didn’t take any coaching. Just gave mocks from a frnd who used to sell it to me for 50-75 rupees per mock.

Also I have read the NDA downfall blog, please do not direct me to it. Currently any opportunity will be good for me.
One outcome of this incident will be that there will be increased visibility about the issue which is sadly never provided or shouted down when the victims are poor kids. Meanwhile, the judiciary who stay cocooned in their privileged life and spaces, keep furthering this menace. An immediate and humane solution to this menace is needed. You cannot keep compounding the misery of other living beings. Going to carry around a stick for safety purposes henceforth
Of course, 4.5 crores earnings by age 35 is still pretty good. If he invested wisely (e.g. buying apartments or shares) he could have doubled that amount. Also, if his new venture pays off, then from age 35 to 45 he could make 12-15 crores.
Bottomline: Even though Ramanuj's rants against NLUs, wokes, liberals and elites may be annoying, he's got a lot of guts and has set up a good business. He is his own boss and doesn't need to take orders from Cyril or Vandana or Paridhi Shroff. Many NLU grads are secretly envious of him and would love to set up their own successful business like him. Also, pretty much all startup founders have an aggressive bro attitude: Asheer Grover, Nikhil Kamath etc. Don't grudge Ramanuj for it.
In NLUO for 2023 batch, Indus hired 7 people, and 2 of them are in Cap Marks. For 2024, Indus have hired 6 people till now, and only one of them has got PPO in Cap Marks.
In judiciary the advocates have a head start over the judicial officers during the selection for District Judge posts and the selection process for judicial officers to such posts is quite vague.
In IAS the officers selected through UPSC are called Direct Recruits whereas in judiciary the advocates who occupy the DJ posts are called Direct Recruits and the Judicial Officers subsequently get downgraded from a DR status to a promotee officer status.
So give where credit is due and don’t be salty
They are catering to a global market and thats how they will reach those numbers
If anyone could guide me with the decision, the purchase journey, maintenance requirements (in Mumbai/India), and generally any other thoughts, it would be most welcome :)
I would say on the contrary that a DM or DGP is more powerful that the Cabinet Sec, cuz the latter is bound my upper elected executive and acts as a mouth piece, while the former dictates the administration and criminal justice execution respectively. Also chief secs are more powerful that cab secs cuz at central level you cant do much, more real power with the states admin, due to hold over the police, which in the end only matters. Anybody with powers over the police is the most powerful.
So NSA, PM, CM > Senior ministers of centre > Ministers in state gov> chief sec of states> DM, DGP, HC judge > SC Judge, Cab Sec
- Two top BJP Union Ministers (Dharmendra Pradhan and RP Rudy)
- Literally half the Congress ecosystem
- Bigwigs of regional parties like TMC, Samajwadi Party etc.
- CEOs of Axis Bank and Standard Chartered
- Many, many law firm owners, partners, judges, Senior Advocates and top IAS officers
All applications are being handled internally and if selected, the automated system conveys confirmation. Dont fret too much and complete your HKs.
For instance my parents kicked me out on my birthday. I have no incentive to lie here. It was a rough time and I was barely 19 at that time. I did odd jobs (like waiting tables, helping in plantation drives, sweeping sometimes and funded my law school like that). I won’t mention the batch and which nlu to keep my anonymity intact. I did academically well and till only two frnds know about this. I also got decent scholarships from college to flourish. Currently working at a tier-1 in Mumbai. I still did bartending as I didn’t want to forget my roots of struggle and tbh I will restart it again.
What I am saying is that no one will give a damn. So instead of coming on legally india and asking about a recourse- find out where you are good at (assuming you are a law student, pardon for undermining the sample viewership of LI), do odd jobs(trust me it helps the economy and respects those who are in the profession), and maybe for your own mental health- don’t contact your parents. But if you have already reconciled (which should be the primary step anyway) then it’s good.
( PS - new to Comp.)
1. Daughter of Union Cabinet Minister 2. Daughter of Deputy CM and law minister of State.
3. My roommate was Son of agriculture secretary (union government).
4. A dude who was scion of an erstwhile Royal family and son of a BJP MP.
There were dozens of other people Children of MPs, MLAs, additional secretaries, joint secretaries, also a State AG.
It's pretty common, most of them downplayed it.
& 1/3rd seats are reserved for lower judiciary in HCs judgeships (constitutional post) of every states. In miniority yet good number of judges from civil judge grade made to HC every year.
Youtube dekh kr gyan pel do kuch v
UPSC CSE is an open field job means any valid graduates can appear but for Civil Judge only law graduates can.
Salary of fresher civil judges are nearly 22K more than fresher IAS/IPS.
Also lakhs of candidates appears for UPSC CSE is not only for IAS/IPS but also for other 20 listed job comes under CSE on pan India level. Whereas approx. 20K-60K candidates appears just only for Civil Judge exams in one states. So competition is also very high.
Regarding promotion (even high vacancies due to shortage of IAS) one can get promoted to Joint Secretary grade on completing min.16 year of service (in reality it takes 18yr) & very few made to Secretary level where as for civil judges they get into ADJ grade within 12-17yr of service (on paper min.10yr service required)
Hehe
That’s why AIJS is a necessity. Not a luxury. But ofc a lot of judges will disagree with this for obvious reasons 🤌
Also, IAS officers are routinely suspended and dismissed, it's not hard. Sub judges/ magistrates are rarely dismissed, they are "suspended on graft charges" which is an abomination on any healthy democracy. Anybody accused of a crime like corruption with evidence prima facie, must be prosecuted and not sent home with free pay.
To answer your question, A HC judge is easily making much more than your average Secretary, because the former's signature is more binding, final and powerful and the former is protected from prosecution, raid, removal to a very large and dangerous extent.
Will give you an example from the US Supreme Court, where corruption is prosecuted readily-

@moderators, I am a practitioner at Hyderabad and hope my identity and IP is anonymous and protected. Someone has to do something about the JMs here (god knows what happens at Haryana and UP).
On every LI post rltd to Judiciary v. IAS these fake guys spammed there with fake stories & continued here as they think that except them none on LI knows up & down of both services. 🤣🤣
Politics, Judiciary and Executive are the most important power centers.
Politics is dirty, it's a game of luck nepotism etc. Not your academic merit.
Judiciary is powerful. But in India Judiciary is just Supreme Court and High Courts. Subordinate Judiciary is just a clerical court. You have to lick foot for your supervising HC.
Every order you pass in subordinate court has zero value. High Court can reprimand, punish you and change your judgement even without a reason.
Subordinate courts in other countries have real independence. But in India subordinate court judges are mere employees of the supervision high court.
E. G. My papa said he passed a 10 year RI against a cruel rapist. Rapist father had HC judges blessings. HC judge called his colleague judge who was handling the matter. 10 year RI was changed into aquittal. My papa was rebuked.
So subordinate Judiciary doesn't have much power. Judicial Services exam if you clear you become Magistrate (most people) some people become District Judge (age 40 dist judge exam if you clear) or age 50 (if you are going via promotion from magistrate.
Real power vest with high court and Supreme court.
But supreme court and high court are very corrupt and nepotistic. If you are not from a Judicial Family (ex Judges, Bar Council people, Attorney General etc) it is practically impossible to be judge.
Also members of subordinate Judiciary who become hc judges at near retirement 59 years are looked down by hc judge Peers from bar (nepotistic family members).
Judges from bar (family members) are given the most important cases in a high court. Ex judicial Officers who become HC Judges are assigned less important cases.
Chief Justice of HC always prefer bar memebers (nepotistic family) to hear important cases or head important benches.
Supreme court - subordinate judges at present doesn't is just 2%. No power.
UPSC is a competitive exam where real merit prevails. At the age of 26 you have disposal of hundreds of staff. UPSC appointment doesn't have nepotism, corruption and politics. If you could crack UPSC CSE you become an officer. With real powers.
At the age of 26 as a Magistrate you will deal with petty cases. You will max see constable and thief.
Also ias has real powers.
IAS can't be easily dismissed. Subordinate Judiciary - can be easily fired for some mistakes if you are not in good terms with hc.
Subordinate Judiciary is just a clerical court of hc.
Ias is attractive because of real powers at young age. Which sub judge gets at 60 max.
Someone joining judiciary will become a District Judge In last 6 years of his career.
SC judges come out of collegium, merit and cracking has nothing to do with it.
There is a reason Jews from other countries still migrate to Israel. It’s because Jews have in the history of their community- been driven out of every other place where they have settled. Anti semitism is a very real thing. The holocaust was real. A lot of people in Israel came from the camps. Others came from antisemitism elsewhere. You did see how they chanted has the Jews near Sydney Opera House ? That is real!
They could’ve stayed in Europe and risked being hunted like vermin again but that’s a genocidal thing to do to a persecuted religious minority.
That’s what Jews are - a persecuted religious minority. Who are native to that land who have been driven from that land time and time and time again because of religious intolerance.
The Muslims in Gaza who did not want to live in Israel would have had plenty of Muslim neighbouring countries to migrate to except even those countries do not want them. Did you know that the current blockade is as much a fault of Egypt closing its borders as it is Israel protecting itself ? Did you know that there have been Israeli Arab members in the Knesset since the first election in israel ? It is about the most religiously tolerant country in the region because it doesn’t persecute minorities based on their religion- it gives them equal rights - even better rights because they aren’t drafted into the IDF - it only discriminates based on whether these people want to perpetrate terror and bring forth the downfall of the Israeli state.
You have to commit to a principle somewhere - either your principle is - natives to a land have rights over that land - in which case Israelis have rights to live there. Or your principle is - might is right and whoever wins wars can conquer territories - in which case - I hate to say this but Israel will win that war. And Israel has won that war several times before and given up conquered land.
Did you know that Ehud Barak offered more land to the PLO in the camp David summit in 2000 to the Palestinians than they have now and the talks failed because the Palestinians would not even counter ?
Israel has demonstrated time and time again that they are willing to give away land for peace and security. They’ve tried to make a two state solution work. The reason that doesn’t work is because the Hamas goal is not peace and security and economic development- it’s from the river to the sea- totally driving Jews into the sea and the destruction of Israel. Within this context- it’s really difficult to see how Israel is an occupying force. What occupying force offers over and over again a two state solution ? What occupying force retreats from lands it has occupied to build goodwill for a two state solution ?
You can’t learn all your history from Instagram.
1. Family and health come before work. Always.
2. The only ppl who will remember the long nights you worked will be your family. No one else will. Keep that in mind before agreeing to cancel a plan with family for work.
All the best brother! Any help you need, you can text here.
Also MNLu Mumbai has jumped from tier-3 wagon to tier-2 pretty fast. So buckle up else they will overtake by charging half the fees y’all charge (and don’t even start with hostels)
Also OP I hope you are reading the comments. Finally a LI where toxicity is at its least!
One of frnds had to undergo a 2.5 year drop (clat happened 6 months early last year and this year as well for 2024) due to his silly OMR mistakes. He was a tad bit concerned about him being around 19-20. But some students informed him that it was very common and in fact entering law school around 19.5-20 has become streamlined to a substantial extent now. He cracked clat with a flying score, bagged tier-1 and no one even questioned about his age. But he did get a lot of hype (more than me) because of his result. He even cracked lnat and bagged a decent scholarship to go to a decent UK Uni. He became more famous. Use this situation to your advantage not as an unnecessary burden.
Thanks everyone who responded. I have read the threads that people have referenced here. You all have helped me gain a little perspective and have eased my worries to an extent. While I still have a few things to be concerned about, I will no longer dwell on my age (as a commenter said I'm not "prehistoric" afterall haha).
I also feel well enough to fill the registration form.
And if I clear clat, just know that your encouraging words helped me gather enough strength to do it.
Thankyou folks.
FYI you aren’t that old.
In fact one of the graduates whose age range was 24-25 got a good LLM scholarship plus now working at a magic circle.
Plus you can offset some credits after an exchange, get extra credit to reduce a semester (you may participate in an international moot and can have it evaluated - it happened with one of our junior batches) and even perform brilliantly well to spend the final year at a foreign Uni to negate the factor of ‘being old’. This can be a good ripple effect. But honestly you are relatively young. My advice would have worked for a 23-24 old incoming student (although I will never judge them) but you still have time. I don’t know why y’all are getting worked up for this.
