hi - the new vc (Dr. Kaur) is already here and the changes are visible.

Imo, these colleges are very administration driven and a bad one can literally break a college (as has happened with NLUJ, NLIU and even NUJS in the past).

Regarding your preference between the two, I would say campus life is better at NLUJ but the opportunities at NUJS are probably marginally better. However, since you will graduate in 2029 if you need up in any of these colleges, I would bet on NLUJ just because Dr. Kaur has done great work at NLUD previously.
hey - I gave the interview in April of this year. It was mostly CV based so do read up on everything you have mentioned. It will also depend on who the person taking the interview is. The one who took it for us focused a lot on contracts (essentials, types of damages, special contracts, types of mortgage etc.). The basics of company law + practice area that you are applying to would also help imo. Also, do prepare a good introduction.
From my experience, only a contact can get you a callback - most associates are also there because of contacts
Hi,

Could a litigating lawyer/disputes lawyer please elaborate on how the practice differs in these two places, and if it is influenced by the culture of the place?

Also, should someone wanting to work in Mumbai also get some disputes experience in Delhi just to have a more wholesome perspective?
It'll cease to be a tier 1 firm then, these law firms have been able to amass the market share that they have only because of these exploitative practices. If turnaround times have to be kept low to deal with demanding clients, working hours will take a hit.
I interned there in 2021, didn't get to interact with him even once (it was virtual) plus no stipend :( Work was mostly centred around service matters from what I remember. Tried asking them if I could come to office but they didn't allow.
kitne entitled ho bhai sahab, folks w/o contacts have to follow up for at least 3-4 months to get a decent internship - kahi aur jaake crib karo
Imo, you'll end up wasting one full year and trust me on this - a lot can happen in that one year. No need if it's not absolutely necessary
Please don't come to NLUJ, the acads are pretty hectic for you to be able to balance - however, people do it by sacrificing on either a) social life b) academics or c) co/extra curriculars
I am also from delhi, studying in one of the universities mentioned above. In my opinion, staying outside your comfort zone (delhi) would give you an unparalleled sense of responsibility and accountability. Plus, you get to explore another part of the country if that's your thing. For the 5 year course, these three are much better names than DU as of now. Hence, look beyond just the placement aspect as your opinion is also not rigid and likely to change as you explore various areas of laws. However, if you're very sure of judiciary - staying in Delhi will give you better access to coaching.
Hands down Ms. Poonam Saxena at NLUJ. No infrastructural development in a long 10-year tenure. Shutting down B.Sc. LLB, exchange programmes and making appointments on the basis of nepotism. Good riddance!
I would prefer NLUJ over GNLU and probably NUJS over NLUJ. Also keep in mind that the differences are minuscule and now all three have domicile reservations. Pros of NLUJ are good campus life but rigorous acads, at NUJS you have a limited campus life but considerable flexibility.
NLUD and NLUJ were the two remaining bastions, they too have fallen - this is what you get when the state government gets to run a national university - RIP
wonder when all of this will stop. Also, doing international moots is as much a function of privilege as it is of the college you belong to. There are so many smart people who simply cannot afford to do international moots. In this regard, we should be learning from colleges like NLUD. Anyone who says that the graduate outcomes of these top 6-7 colleges are vastly different is probably kidding himself/herself. We all can acknowledge the randomness of CLAT as we get closer to the 98/99 percentile. Best would be to learn from each other and unite against incompetent administrations in certain colleges.
NALSAR and NLUJ imo, huge campuses with a vibrant campus life. Plus, availability of all things that might not be available at GNLU. But tbh, campus life comes down to peer group and if you have a decent group, you can enjoy almost anywhere.
it would be better to get both of them with someone as zomato is better on some days while swiggy is better on others. Also note that now you can only use the membership on two devices at a time.
I'm someone who is yet to figure out what area to start out with.

I read somewhere that CAM has a rotational policy where you can move within the firm.

Does this still hold true as of 2023?
strongly disagree with this, am a third-year at NLUJ. There have been multiple protests against the high-handedness of the admin. Some teachers are good. Definitely not conservative in any sense of the term. Music scene is diverse - from English to Tamil. Ragging is there - probably about 5/10 people from each batch actively "rag" people. Booze chahiye toh mil jayega.
