I am a dropper myself in T1 NLU and most batchmates are either one year droppers, two, some to the extent of even 3 (personally would not recommend 3 though). But private colleges would not simply give u the advantage. Take the leap child, believe in what u can achieve
The present Modi government is adding fuel to this by unnecessarily imposing Hindi, see those 3 criminal bills, the names are in Hindi even though the whole bill is in English. This unnecessary imposition of a language is the root problem.
The only solution to this is following a two language model in states and one language in Centre, with English being the mandatory language across the country.
Coming to NLUs, it’s important for all NLU student bodies and alumni to unite and challenge domicile reservation in the SC.
For litigation u need a solid financial backing so that even if u don't earn any money for next 5 years tab bhi guzaara ho jaaye bina dikkat k.
This may sound rude to you but this is truth.
They keep insisting on curriculum in Hindi even for courses like engineering and Mbbs.
When people feel their language and culture is being threatened, they tend to overcompensate.
Cure the problem not the symptom.
Has a good deal of arbitration and commercial litigation along with white collar matters.
Is very considerate about his juniors and wants to teach everything he can.

It destroys elitist culture in the profession.
ps- have heard they are giving internship randomly to ppl.
He is SA you are a final-year student. The problems you face in life at this stage are minuscule to him as he must have forgotten how he might have faced the same problems at the same stage.
For example - How would you, as a final year law student, look at an Xth standard student going through tremendous pressure and stress for his Xth Boards? It is now nothing for and you wish you had not stressed so much back in that time. You would just tell him that it is nothing and not to stress about it, which is not at all aligned with the priorities that kid has in his life at the moment and will create incongruities between you.
Likewise, it is never ideal to be in a relationship or date someone who is years ahead of you in the same field, they won't look at your life the same way you look at it, resulting in a lack of consideration, differences, and whatnot.
Did not have to give so much logic to make you understand as the mere fact that you posted this here shows that there is something fundamentally wrong about this that doesn't sit right with you as well. Plus nobody can look into the future and answer your questions with certainty, that, only time will tell.
All the best!
If anyone is interested pls drop how you would like me to contact you .
2. Such differences exist even among engineering departments. For E.g. CS thinks they are superior to civil or mechanical. These are meaningless comparisons done by juveniles.
3. Be patient. Innovation is a new idea in India. Given the fact that SOL's focus is on IP Law, it is bound to take some time to become mainstream. That said, SOL is building a focus area and a niche that state NLUs have failed to do (even the older ones). They are ramping up the intake (for money) and diluting quality.
4. Already covered in bullet 1. All points here are about IIT KGP SOL. Comparing state NLUs with the larger IIT KGP is like comparing an asteroid with the Sun. The point is about comparing research culture, not comparing subjects (like Law with STEM).
5. OK. Noted.
6. The point is no one has stopped state NLUs from tapping into their so-called alumni for grants and funding. But they are unsuccessful in doing so. The fact that Ashoka and Jindal can do this is their credit, and they don't need to be apologetic about it.
7. That is for State NLUs to decide and tread carefully. At this point, they are being careless and adding new disciplines rampantly.
Bottomline: When state NLUs are plagued by inefficient administration, erratic funding, state government indifference, a massive increase in intake, lack of academic leadership, and domicile reservation, among many other things - where is the time to focus on research?
If some random dude becomes an axe murderer after he leaves the college, what difference does it make to the college?
There must be criminals coming out of IIT and IIM. No one asks these questions there!
Then of course, if you’re a female, no need to worry about preparation, I’ve seen general girls convert Ahmedabad even at 98%ile due to XX chromosome criteria.
First that girl was 20 in her final year and you here are 22 in your second working year. Are you just some law student exhibiting your fantasy? Also who opens Grindr just for fun when bored? are there so many gays these days and no shame in admitting it?
Also, MH Cet is also easy as compared to CAT, XAT, especially for MH Residents.
I think there’s a major misconception here that a drop year is a bad thing. It isn’t. If you want to get into an nlu and believe that you could spend one year focused on your prep without being distracted, then take a drop. Another consideration that has to be weighed in here is whether you have some support from family. See there’s a lot of competition nowadays and nlu education may give you a head start. But pls be certain that you really want to do law in order to make the drop year worth all the risk you’ll be taking.
As for the caste census, it's happening in the states because the central government has refused to conduct census in the decade that it has been in power for. Every day there are still hundreds of instances of caste based atrocities in all parts of the country, so it's not as if caste issues have become irrelevant.
First, CLAT itself is unpredictable, and from 2025 onwards (i.e. CLAT 2025 held in Dec 2024) will be multi-lingual. This changes the entire competition dynamics. Second, God forbid, if you are not well on the day of the exam or there is some other emergency (these are unpredictable).
The day is not far away when state NLUs will be asked by the respective state governments to teach the local language initially as a subject, and then as the medium of instruction. Once CLAT becomes multi-lingual from 2025 onwards, there is no stopping.
2. I have been to IIT KGP's law school multiple times. They are yet to gain any noticeable benefit of the kind that you refer to. The IIT faculty and students don't consider the law faculty/students as their equals even. There is little to no collaboration that takes place.
3. If an institution remains less known even after a decade, then that is by no means an indicator of its excellence. It means that it has not achieved anything that it should be known for.
4. This is your opinion, there is no fact associated with it. Plenty of good legal research and publications have emerged from these places. Comparing those to STEM universities and their research is foolish and only done by ignorants who fail to appreciate the difference between the disciplines.
5. Agreed.
6. Agreed, with the reservation that private universities like Ashoka or even Jindal use personal network of the upper echelon to attract such funding, not by any specific demonstration of excellence. That's the private v. public divide. Public universities be they state or central also have a lot of red tapes to go through for accepting private funding. Should the scene be improved? Obviously yes. Does that mean that the private universities are using such extra funding to produce amazing research? Not really. All the parties including the funders should therefore introspect in this regard.
7. Agreed. Multi-disciplinarity seems to be the future. That does not mean that universities should randomly open new disciplines without thinking about synergy, viability and expertise related issues. A knee jerk response to UGC directives which often are all about show and no substance would be unwise.
Bottomline: What you mentioned in the earlier 7 points do not logically lead to that conclusion, so it is clearly your personal agenda. It is not as if that the so-called national universities that you refer to that are offering law at this stage are doing a good job at all, be it undergrad/postgrad teaching or quality legal research, or attracting private funding. If you are saying that the centre will always keep funding those, then that's also an assumption, countered by the reduced budget for higher education, elimination of fellowships etc.
The power differential is wrong.
Further, both are in different stages in life and she is in for a huge trauma episode if she pursues this.
Indian express article
https://indianexpress.com/article/business/economy/india-service-sector-regulatory-mismatch-india-uk-free-trade-agreement-9081510/
The cartel of few law firms may lose the battle to stop entry of foreign law firms in India. The article writes about how few law firms dominate and charge hefty fees and how foreign law firm entry will provide employment to young legal workforce.I think the entry of foreign law firms will happen soon. Is it too early to celebrate?
As long as you are both 18+ there is nothing immoral or illegal. Even if you date a partner who's your dad's age.
Unfortunately, men with money age like fine wine. And are preferred by women. But not the opposite.
Problem is you are both in same team. And when you are in the same team. It's unethical to be in a relationship. If you mess up your relationship you could loose careee prospects at the team. If you get a job, you will still be slut shamed for selling your body for a job. Even for him there are risks.
So make sure you intern in a different team. And you could still date him for the long term.
And you're only 19 man, you don't have your whole life behind you. yeah you might have taken a few beatings but now you know yourself better than you did 3 years ago while studying for something you didn't like so I'd say the beatings were well worth it. And don't let these go to waste.
Ask yourself what you really want and work for it, take a small break if you want before starting.
There is a person (she got a video on yt with 12 minutes to clat) who dropped two years and landed in glc. Multiple people land in nlus too (lots of clat rankers this year). Give mhcet once, land glc or ILS, work for clat/ailet from there if you want. But join a college. Your parents will stop cribbing once you do. I assume you can get uslls too at this rank without giving any entrance, look into that.
So rise up my man nothing is lost.
Have you not seen the left wing ▮▮▮ walking around?
Seen the movie Damini?its just the tip of the iceberg of the real problems faced by women in sexual assault and sexual harassment cases.Amrish Puri will seem like a saint when I tell you what my opponent law firm in my sexual harassment case is upto which is in Court defending the ex employer for dismissing me for making complaints of sexual harassment. The ex employer company is a global brand.
I am being stalked ,followed and spied on 24*7 by goons and agents of this law firm and its lawyers. Not just me,but my entire family is being stalked and spied upon by these pimps of the sexual harassers (they are not worthy of being called lawyers or law firm)This law firm even sent a drug addict to rape me.I escaped and filed complaint with Policeman -THEY NEVER EVEN REGISTERED A FIR.They are now implicating me and my family in false cases teaming up with my Housing society and interfering in a 30 year old legal matter. They are bribing Court staff and clearly they have some far too "supportive" Judges(at High Court). My issue is they are bent on driving me to suicide since I refused to take money and "settle the case".
I have no agency and no Court to help me because they are stalking me ,approaching the lawyers I go to and threatening /driving my lawyers to ensure I don't get legal advise and legal representation.
The Lower Court Judge gives the company and its lawyers red carpet treatment,so getting Contempt reference is impossible.I have been told in hushed whispers by lawyers who declined my case saying "too busy" (dont want to get involved in a case where they say they are facing "pressures")that for the illegal and criminal a activities of law firm its best to file complaint at Bar Council and seek cancellation of license.
Any advice?
First, the scores above are specifically for IIT KGP SOL (not the larger IIT KGP). IIT KGP SOL is ranked in the law category of NIRF. Hence it is clear that some shoot arrows in the dark without understanding.
Second, if IIT KGP SOL benefits from the larger IIT KGP ecosystem that's exactly the point, this is why state NLUs as stand-alone entities are permanently doomed to mediocrity. All top law schools in the world are part of larger universities for a reason.
Third, IIT KGP SOL is less known. Popularity and excellence are two different things. The NLU fanboys are just ignorant.
Fourth, the state NLUs like WBNUJS, GNLU, NLUD, and NALSAR are in the pits when it comes to research. They are purely UG teaching entities, with virtually nothing to call research. And yes, for the NLUD fanboys, AILET does not make any difference. It is irrelevant.
Fifth, research is critical for any higher education institution to build and sustain excellence. There is a reason why IISc is so well respected. While IITs may be more popular, it is IISc that stands above and beyond any IIT when it comes to research. IISc ranked No. 1 in the world on research.
Sixth, state NLUs have a very long way to go - if at all. Being stand-alone state universities they are burdened with huge obstacles. Their funding is so minimal/erratic. They are UG teaching institutes, so they continue their mediocrity or below. Even Ashoka University can bring in more funding and grants, but state NLUs cannot.
Seventh, UGC has instructed that by 2030 there will be no single discipline universities in the country. To be classified as a "university", every HEI must have at least five disciplines. Therefore, expect state NLUs to add new disciplines (non-law) in the next few years. We can already see the transition in progress - NLS adding public policy, WBNUJS adding forensic science, NLIU with cybersecurity, and NALSAR having management. More dilution will take place.
Bottomline - state universities cannot and should not even try to compare and compete with national universities. They'll come out battered and bruised like the NLUs. It is better to be in a 5-year-old national university than in a 50-year-old state university.
So I feel it’s better to have attend finishing school in India.
You can still skip the fanciness of the alcohols since you can say that you don’t drink (unless you do drink and want to in that case again just go with the safest choices in the menu).
Always carry a perfume, a comb, a lipstick (if you’re a woman), mints/gum on you. You never know when you might need it

You can make it more engaging with the use of analogies and comparative analyses with what you're proposing, option tables, PEST analysis, SWOT analysis, Etc. being some of the other mechanism, is it something worth considering sir?
This thread is already going around on WhatsApp groups and if the information is true it will not be long before it reaches the dramatis personae.
The kid is b/o 24 and unplaced, @mod pls redact some details from the og post, for the sake of their job.
Lastly, what sort of a fucked up person you need to be to ask an intern out when there is such a crazy power differential.
Now, this news is just SHOCKING. The left is accused of wokeism and cancel culture, but what about this then?? It's naked fascism!!! You want to see a professor arrested and her career ruined??? 😡😡😡 We all know that the Bumble issue (which is the supposed offence) is just a non-issue. The real issue is her opposition to the BJP and her support for Palestine and invitation to Achin Vanaik, which led to the Israeli Ambassador writing to the VC. Plus the fact that her father is a big Congress leader. It's just a shameless culture war being waged by the BJP.
Sadly, the RW students of Jindal are the ones to blame as they started it. You people have secretly video recorded professors and leaked them to pro-BJP Twitter handles in the past, but this time you have really done something that is shameful. You have just gone too far. Also, it's no excuse to say that you didn't think this would lead to a police complaint. You are responsible for your actions. Thanks to you, there will forever be distrust and division within the student body.

You should just know where to eat from and when to eat. Don't complain if you eat from the most unhygienic and disgusting place of mumbai.
My Regional HC (Ranchi) dont have good corporate and commercial litigation !
ESSE lights

Law will remain the best at top Nlus like NLS, Nalsar, NLU Delhi or Jindal.
2. Write more exams - LSAT (for Jindal with a scholarship, MAHCET for GLC & ILS - both are good, SLAT for Symbiosis Pune)
Join the best campus you are getting and start your higher studies and good life.
You are too young to be worried. Your clat performance shows you are better than 90% of candidates. So no worries.
This advice is not in good faith. Contrary to perception on LI TMC government hardly cares about NUJS(Many don't even know it exists). Approaching politicians/lawyers with political connections will unnecessarily add political dimensions where none exist and complicate the matter. Just approach a decent counsel in Calcutta HC who isn't overtly political and well versed with the court craft/dynamics (there are many) and fight the university in court.
And, if you have not joined any college. Then join a decent college with your rank. Choose a metro city please, and fir take CLAT again. Nahi hua toh hustle from where you are.
Also, accept the fact that law is long term game, toh these years won't matter and it's going to a long and slow road ahead.
Apologies for the structure and grammar - in a rush.
P.S. To save your internship, mail him that you wouldn't be able to make it etc., and hint you have a BF.
1. An SA at a tier 1 is usually 27- 28 yrs old. You are fucking 20. They are at a different space in relationships and dating. You are in for disappointment once you get attached because you will react different to the relationship as opposed to a 28 yr old man. You will 100% regret this for life. Please reconsider this. Your post clearly shows that you haven't has as much experience in this space and don't jump into this. Women his age have clearly rejected him for special reasons and that's why he is preying on younger girls, (or he already has a relationship/ marriage). Not worth it girl.
2. The SA is a senior position and has power over your professional trajectory with the firm. This power will almost always be used against you, and if you feel otherwise or want to withdraw later, this will badly reflect. You will have to submit to uncomfortable things for the sake of a mere Assessment. Not worth it. The market for the 2024 batch is already bad, do not ruin your chances like this.
To the guy,
Hitting on an intern as a 28 yr old man is predatory. Don't ruin her life.
A Google search away.
Pol Sci would be a good match with law.
Regarding education, take whatever the best you get this year. It can be anything from SLSP, GLC, DU, T-2/3 NLU, or some other good college. Work hard in those 5 years then you will be in a good place. Also, don't forget to enjoy your life during law school.
