i wish to learn from the submissions of established practicing advocates, just wanted to know if there was any way to gain access
Also, just fyi for everyone: (1) I know couple of guys like me more than made up for the discount, (2) all these thumb rules (discount, 7-9 years to make partner, etc.) are just averages. Once in the game, if you think you can achive it - then the only thing stopping you is your imagination/ abilty to work.
βEvery day that resident doctors are on strike, several critical medical operations remain on hold. It's not as if the residents are unaware of the effects of their action. But there is no legal principle that the court can lay down and say - this far and no further. That is for the government to do. It can blink if it feels the price the public is paying is too high, or refuse to relent. The Supreme Court ought not have jumped the gun.
There is a reason why the Constitution has not vested the Supreme Court with these powers to take on suo motu cases. Jumping headlong into these matters takes the court straight into a political minefield. The court, despite its best efforts, cannot get an accurate picture of the realities on the ground. Without doing so, it runs the risk of becoming politicised. In the long run, this entirely decimates its legitimacy as an impartial arbiter.β

What jurisdiction or power does the Supreme Court or even the government have to order a stop of peaceful protest?

Look, you can switch teams if your team is bad. But where do you go when the industry functions like that?
Banking, cap marks and project finance. Avoid.
Is this more of a RSS vs BJP thing?
Phiroz is Vik's senior. Actually, it was Phiroz who persuaded Vik to join litigation in Cal HC. This was after Vik and a brilliant set of founding faculty at NUJS were booted by Menon acolyte.
Phiroz is seriously good crim lawyer. You can debate who he defends etc. But he knows both the law and necessary things to be done off-the-books. Interestingly, his key mentors in Cal HC are presently thick with the ruling regime of the state, Previously, they were thick with Reds.
Recently saw the post on LinkedIn about JCSS Law opening new office in Pune.
I am curious to know about JCSS. The Founding Partner, Radhika Subhash, seems a experienced lawyer with 20+ years of experience. I have not seen their deals much often, but surely grabbed my attention once in a while. The associates seems from mostly tier 3-4 colleges but talented nonetheless. As a final year student who is fed up with hustle culture would like to work in city like Pune if it can promise me similar practice like that of Mumbai.
People associated with JCSS and past employees, please elaborate on the firm, it's working, culture and most importantly PAY.
Gaurav Dani & Suneeth Katarki, Founding Partners, jointly expressed, "We are delighted to announce the induction of these talented individuals to our Firm's Equity Partnership. IndusLaw remains committed lo nurturing talent and promoting the future leaders of IndusLaw. We wish them all the very best!β

I cold-emailed a partner who forwarded my resume to the HR, who, then, told me to email on another email ID specifying dates etc. Upon doing so, I got their standard "resume has been kept on record" reply.

If your answer is yes, then my next question is about NLU Mumbai. π
You can reach out to me at anonymouse7799@proton.me if you want to connect.
- By when will this happen? Another decade? Another 20 years?
- Which alumni from non-NLSIU NLUs are in pole position to make it big? The next GShanks or the next Dayan Krishnan?
- Will these non-NLSIU NLU alumni ever make it big, given that they will face greater competition and NLSIU already has a big first-mover advantage?
βAt the heart of Hinduism is Zoroastrianism. Both are from the same source. There is no difference between a Hindu and a Zoroastrian. In fact, if you go through our βZend-avestaβ, you will find the word βHinduβ. This drew my attention towards RSS 12 years back and in October 2020 after Durga Puja, I was assigned to work for VHP as its South Bengalβs Vice President,β Phiroze Edulji said.
βWhen I was studying at National Law School in Bengaluru, my batchmate Vikramjit Banerjee told me about RSS. Later, he introduced me to some Sangh leaders in Kolkata. I was influenced by the RSS and since then (almost 12 years) my journey as a βSwayam Sevakβ started. I fought many cases for the cause of Hindu rights which include the βShastra Pujaβ which was banned by the Bengal government a couple of years back,β he added.

But regardless, he was very impressive yesterday (far more impressive than Tushar Mehta). Modi is obviously neglecting some very talented people on his side and instead giving undeserving people coveted posts! Look at his cabinet as wellβ so many faltu ministers!
βWithout the challan the doctor cannot perform the post mortem,β Edulji said before the three-member bench.
βThat is where the mystery lies. Between 2.30 pm and 11.30 in the night only 10 general diary entries [at the Tala police station]. Is it manufactured?β asked Edulji. βWho is the videographer [of the post mortem]? Where did he come from? Was it in rewritable or non-rewritable CDs?β
Edulji also alleged swabs from the victimβs body were not preserved at the required temperature.

And there are teachers like Shubha Ghosh and Watal in that program as well, so how bad could it be.
i was in batch of 24, consistently top 10 of my batch - sat in every interview, was shortlisted for all but couldnβt make through the interviews. now in chambers
Because someone on the other thread said it's 8 lpa for non nlu
I work in Cap Marks. Itβs not been very long but 2 years is enough for me to give an opinion here. Yes, the work life is terribly demanding but there are ways around it:
1. I take 2-3 small vacations every year (3 days of leave and 2 days of weekends) and 1 big vacation (10-11 days). This gives me enough headroom to relax and enjoy.
2. Since Cap Marks is DD heavy, I just put on my headphones and watch movies while Iβm working as well. So, thatβs a good time pass.
3. There is work on weekends but scheduling it smartly is the key. I go out every weekend for lunch and dinner or shopping or movies, etc.
4. You can still give time to your family as long as you know how to schedule stuff.
(BUT for all of this to be true, you need to be in a team that doesnβt squeeze the life out of you)
You can meet people from all walks of life. You canβt just date co-workers. Go to a bar and talk to girls, socialise and I donβt think youβll face an issue. (Providedβ¦.)
Please do help.
Nluo placed people with rank in 70s in 2023, same with maybe other colleges in similar tier. I've seen 50-70 getting placed easily jgls.
If you're in a t-3 NLU or a private college that isn't Jindal or symbiosis. You either to intern endlessly or should be ready to get out of college and grind with chambers and counsels where you might have to prove yourself in month or twos time
It's feels so depressing to graduate with low rank and without a job. What are my options? Pls help.
So for this reason I would say Jindal over NLUs, including NLSIU.
- An NLSIU alum
- An Oxford-Harvard and Rhodes alum
- A Senior Advocate elevated directly by the SC
- Someone who has argued one of the most important human rights cases of all time
- Someone who has been listen by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, for that reason
- Someone who has won the Jefferson Medal, for that reason
You will find very few people in the WORLD with a CV like that, let alone India. So why is she not getting a chance to speak? Why should Sibal monopolise the time? If at the age of 50 you are still considered to be junior, then what does that say of the state of our legal system?
My (not so secret) secret: Just keep at it. Send a shit ton of cold emails, cold calls, etc. Some T20/30 firm will take you in - go from there. It all goes in one direction, upwards. Never too late to start working hard :)

Bois in BLR have built a wall thicker than Bollywood to penetrate to mainstream oneself with that society.
But what hurt me the mosttt was MY OWN FIRM'S KANNADIGAS telling me "You outsiders have ruined Bangalore; just go back, dude!" There was no 'true value, true values.' :')
That sucks to be honest!
How can we grasp the content?
I've put together an HR masterlist to help with internship applications. Feel free to update or add more contacts. Personally, Iβve found direct emails to HR get better responses than using automated systems.
