For me, he was the standout counsel in the Abhaya hearing today. It was going the usual way: Sibal to taking most of the time; Menaka nodding ; Tushar pretty timid; other counsels getting little or no time (poor Karuna Nundy repeatedly begging for time but not being paid heed to).
But an exception was this lawyer, who forcefully intervened and made some bombshell arguments. What is this gentleman's name?

But regardless, he was very impressive yesterday (far more impressive than Tushar Mehta). Modi is obviously neglecting some very talented people on his side and instead giving undeserving people coveted posts! Look at his cabinet as well— so many faltu ministers!
Phiroz is Vik's senior. Actually, it was Phiroz who persuaded Vik to join litigation in Cal HC. This was after Vik and a brilliant set of founding faculty at NUJS were booted by Menon acolyte.
Phiroz is seriously good crim lawyer. You can debate who he defends etc. But he knows both the law and necessary things to be done off-the-books. Interestingly, his key mentors in Cal HC are presently thick with the ruling regime of the state, Previously, they were thick with Reds.
