If the argument being made is that Menaka G is an NLSIU/Rhodes/Harvard alum + TIME 100 honouree, then Vrinda Grover is a St Stephenโs/NYU alum + honorary PhD from SOAS + TIME 100 honouree before Menaka G.
So then why was Vrinda Grover overlooked?
looking for any tier 2/tier 3 tmt law firms who do a mix of advisory and policy work (and also who are hiring.) preferably in del/blr.
thanks in advance for any leads.
OP, please provide information about the batch size, RCC pool size to make a fair comparison for 2024.
But because of trimester system, you'll be on your toes for 3 months. Can't miss a single class and classes mostly cannot be rescheduled. You might be frustrated with students when they don't read and come to class, but pleased when they do. However, don't expect others to show empathy towards students, even if you do.
Fair opportunities and exposure - unlikely that delhi can compete.
Living expenses - delhi will only go up. Cost of houses is catching up to realities of market and lack of new projects - its a matter of time that housing costs will not be a factor btw delhi and mumbai see https://the-ken.com/story/what-happens-when-you-bring-rs-2-crore-to-the-delhi-ncr-house-hunt/
Tread carefully - you donโt want to always double think motives behind a guy approaching you in Mumbai - in Delhi, its not so friendly
Fan of Delhi for lots of reason but comfortable with Mumbai
Itโs not about whether this would bias the CJI or not. The CJI or any judge is not prohibited from having regular normal friends- and he can conflict out of cases when they involve those friends. And this is not being cordial or collegial or civil- inviting someone to worship with you at your house with your family indicates an intimacy between the head of the executive and the head of the judiciary that should make all citizens deeply uncomfortable.
Itโs bad form for the CJI or any judge to curry favour with the ruling government in this way. Itโs so obvious in its fecklessness I can hardly believe this really happened. I havenโt heard of such a thing happening in the past ever or in any other developed country. I donโt know how anyone thought this was a good idea and how he isnโt ashamed to have done this.
Is it any wonder that thereโs so much corruption in the country and no one takes the CJIs sermons seriously when he himself behaves this way ? If this isnโt a crisis of legitimacy I donโt know what is.
Mumbai wonโt be worth it

By the looks of it, there are at least 18+ offers paying around 16 lakhs and more. Looks to be a bit better than NLUD 2024. How is NIRF still getting fooled
I am not making any allegations and like I said, am sure this was just casual but was just wondering if this is a fair line of reasoning or if there's something I'm missing
I would really appreciate some insights on the work culture at KCO Bangalore.
- How is the overall work culture at KCO Bangalore including the efficiency of team system
-How are the partners to work with? How approachable and supportive are they in terms of mentoring and career growth?
Suggestions Please
Eg - stellar intern but no vacancy - versus good intern, lets along with others, has the partner's eye, and who was in the team when a vacancy popped up. Latter more likely to be hired.
Kindly guide.
They know his video are right they can counters on the basis of logic, facts , video, image etc
Good luck.
A breakup and sabbatical later, feel that was so stupid. I could have had strong liquidity in savings had I just not touched any of my investments at the end of 2022. Itโs heartbreaking - that was enough to be free and not work for money.
Whoever is reading this, donโt touch your savings till they are enough to make you not earn for money. And after you reach that point - still donโt touch - the purpose of it is comfort: just forget about it.
JFA Sum - Forget about it.
Multiple partners exiting from different teams?
Silent firing of Associates/SAs?
Toxic work culture?
Shouting at and lack of dignified treatment of associates?
Differential pay and treatment basis the law school and previous firm?
Silent quitting by associates due to toxicity?
Can someone confirm?
What work they do? How are the work hours?
Here's the reality: designated seniors in her position/ like her often take on โhigher rolesโ that traditionally belong to AoRsโlitigation strategy, drafting, and occasionally even briefing, relegating the AoR to registry work! Sure, many of them are encouraged to add value with their own inputs, if they can/ have the time! The market is over-flooded with SC AoRs, competent and otherwise, all vying to build a volume filing practice because thatโs only way one can make the kind of money that's needed to keep the lights on. Many will file anything handed to them by the briefing lawyer just to maintain that working relationship, hoping for more business. There is, of course, a growing number of AoRs who take their roles more seriously, particularly as the Supreme Court has cracked down on those who donโt even know whatโs in their briefs, let alone show up in court. But this shift is being slowed/ counterbalanced by seniors like her/ in her situationโwho often wonโt pay more than the token AoR fee for drafting and filing. Many, like her, have spouses or partners (sometimes even retainers) keeping the AoR work in-house, and the result is what you see in the courtroom today is the emergence of a Periodic Table of Counsel- an unofficial hierarchy, roles seemingly anointed rather than earned. This is how it has been at the SC for quite a while. It is why our brightest and best are lost to foreign law firms, corporate law and the likes. There's no real intent to correct this either.
Please do tell me if it's looked down upon to quit so early.

Guys, please do the honours and help a kid out. Please let us know of other corporate firms in Gurgaon.
Your failure to find a decent house sounds like a you problem. Plenty of great properties in delhi even now, although understandably the number is fewer than, say, five years ago.
Last Sept, I went through a difficult breakup, and Iโm still working through it with therapy and medication. On top of that, my parents keep pressuring me to get married, which only adds to the stress.
I had always thought that if neither law firms nor in-house roles worked out, or if the UPSC didnโt pan out, Iโd write the MP Judiciary exam and settle my career uncertainty (seemed doable to me). But with the recent changes in MP Judiciaryโs eligibility criteria, I no longer qualify as I donโt have 70% marks or 3 years of continuous practice. While I could attempt MPPSC Civil Services, the timing and results are too unpredictable.
Now, Iโve reached a point where Iโm exhausted from making decisions. The only thing Iโm certain of is that I want to be in government service- not because I donโt want to work, but because I want to step out of this endless cycle of applying for jobs, chasing increments, promotions, and so on. I no longer want to be in a constant race. Considering how things work in India, I also want to have some level of power to support myself and my family. Over the past 4 years, Iโve seen how, without some form of authority, people can easily be taken advantage of.
It feels like I havenโt made a single decision thatโs truly worked out for me. Right now, Iโm looking at these options:
1. UPSC 2025 โ Give it one more shot.
2. MPPSC 2025 โ Iโve attempted it before and missed the prelims cutoff by just 2 marks (one question). I did this based on my upsc prep and spending about 10 days on MP-specific topics.
3. I love Gurgaon for some reason, so I could write HPSC 2025, though Iโd need to focus on Haryana-specific content.
4. Judicial Service Exams- Since MP is no longer an option, I could aim for Delhi or Haryana Judiciary.
Alternatively, I could let go of the idea of government service and:
5. Get a law firm job.
6. Find an in-house counsel role.
Please be kind.
Once you mix among high-flying lawyers and corporates, you are judged on the basis of EVERYTHING you do.

It must also be mentioned that advocate Kaustav Bagchi was accused by Sibal of throwing stones at the police and then DYC scolded Bagchi. But Bagchi did no such thing and he too has accused Sibal of lying. He has challenged Sibal to produce the video footage where Sibal claims Bagchi is seen throwing stones.
https://x.com/koustavcp/status/1833162345004036242
Itโs very unfortunate that DYC is giving Sibal a disproportionate amount of time, and not giving Bikash Bhattacharya and Karuna Nundy any time, despite them being Senior Advocates. The only saving grace has been Justice Pardiwala asking Sibal tough questions, and Phiroze Edulji interrupting Sibal and pointing out signs of a massive coverup.
I donโt think DYC knows just how unpopular he is among people in Bengal right now. The feeling universally is that DYC should not have butted in and taken up this case, sou moto and instead left it to the Calcutta High Court. The Calcutta High Court has repeatedly been hauling up to TMC for corruption, only to have the Supreme Court stay its orders.
Unfortunately the โdream jobโ we are sold is not really a dream, and even during internships we donโt understand the full picture.
Please try to apply for in-house roles or boutique firms. See if there are any folks from your college working there, or if some senior from your law firm shifted in house. Try reaching out to them.
the court said that govt may take admin action against striking doctors like use esma etc.
whether the govt will use it or threaten to use it is a diff issue
I understand the timeline is short and the vacancies are low, but anything will help at this point.
Thanks!
Drink water.
I am a law student and unfortunately my MacBook Air got damaged in the rains. The laptop is working fine but thereโs considerable amount of water inside the screen- and I fear one day or the other the laptop will stop working.
I understand I have to go to the Apple Centre, but theyโll charge a lot of money and I am apprehensive to go to a third-party as well. Obviously canโt afford to shell out 14k-20k, which is what I think is the minimum.
Have tried a couple of home remedies but to no avail. Has this happened to anyone else? Will I need a complete screen replacement or will it just need a reset and cleaning and they can put the screen back?
Mods, please publish as soon as possible.
However, I do think NUJS, NLUJ and NLIU are lagging behind a bit. This could be because of a law firm skew in graduate recruitment. This, in turn, may because of factors like a conservative middle-class mindset or an EWS background, where earning money immediately after graduation becomes important, so students opt for law firms.
If I look at the NUJS, NLUJ and NLIU alumni practising right now in the SC, I honestly cannot see anyone becoming very high-profile. Sorry to say this.
Also, โฎโฎโฎ โฎโฎโฎ โฎโฎโฎ at ICUL shifting elsewhere too?
It's very easy to live in a false sense of reality when you aren't actively fighting Delhi heat while going through reams of horseshit houses where landlords are demanding kidneys.
I understand that Bombay is worse, of course it is, but Delhi isn't the renter's paradise it used to be five years ago. If you believe otherwise, you just haven't tried looking for a house recently. I have.
And coming to CV, please list down cases which she argued as lead counsel and also do the same exercise for Sibal and you should get your answer. Nothing personal about her, respect for all her achievements which are indeed good but no closing eyes to facts.
