Things had started to fall apart towards the end of YSR's tenure as well. The issue is extreme growth and the administration becoming very bureaucratic eventually. I know the countless emails I had written to Lokesh & others to get reading room & library infra issues fixed. Especially after the President's visit, when they had ripped apart the entire reading room to hold their meetings/dinners(?) and did a lot of goof ups when reinstalling things back.

Bureaucratic approach is the issue. Leads to /r/notmyjob kind of situations.

Otherwise, though, fully agreed. It's shameful that this is happening. Remember when Naveen said "take your money back and leave if you have such an issue" during an open-house? That attitude has trickled down completely. People misunderstood that the gherao of VC was over WiFi. It was over institutional apathy. Ignorance of all grievances by students.

The administration needs to be held accountable for such troubles to go away. I personally feel Sahni's exit was a step in the right direction re. fixing the admin. issues. It's not sufficient by any measure though.

inb4 'oh jindal students are so entitled' comments. Paying for the infrastructure — yes, literally entitled to it but being denied. Nothing wrong with it.

Good luck buddy.. I hope things work out the way you plan, but it's also good to remember that not everything is in your control. Just like everyone who gets into NLS or NALSAR isn't a genius with great work ethic, everyone who goes to Jindal isn't a brat whose parents pampered them. I'm guessing you either don't have kids yet or have very young kids, because if you had been through the college admission grind with teenagers, you would know that there is also a very strong element of luck. (btw, my kid is at a tier-1 NLU so I hold no brief for Jindal. Things worked out for her but I saw so many of her equally deserving friends just narrowly fail to make the cut).

Recent Alumni here. Have seen YSR Murthy as Registrar and seen current registrar and I must say that the current registrar’s apathy/lack of oversight over his departments has lead to this situation. (No such problems in YSR’s time). Complaints regarding infrastructure often go unanswered or if taken cognisance of, are met with denial of the situation. Despite repeated requests to the registrar, he doesn’t acknowledge our mails, let alone intervene.

Surely, the amount of fee charged to us is not commensurate to the sort or pathetic, government college like services we get.

Registrar’s apathy has really got us a bad name in the press and disrepute to the university.

However, SC expects stray dogs to understand and follow guidelines for feedings them at designated places.

Feeding the dogs is a Self defence mechanism for humans to keep the dogs calm, else they would attack more if they starve.

One needs to understand that dogs have designated areas and cannot venture beyond that limit, else they would be attacked by dogs of other areas.

These people just don’t get it!! 😂😡 Reducing GST will only have a marginal impact. What they need to do is reduce the 30% slab to 15-20% and abolish the surcharge for 50 lpa earners, plus abolish capital gains tax. Yes, that will only affect 2% of the populace but it is this 2% that is fuelling the economy! You need to put more money in their hands, because they are not spending because of high costs and taxes! It’s like the patient’s heart is weak and you are treating the liver instead!

Also, from a fairness perspective, this 2% gives so much of their earnings in taxes, but receives nothing from the government in return. All the money is spent on wasteful doles and subsidies, plus salaries abd perks for corrupt babus!

On the contrary, IC continues to dominate the market on all counts. Quality and volume of clientele, variety of work and team solidity plus pay. And this position has been there for a while now, anyone in the industry would vouch for. KCo is very good but have remained relatively silent with their growth. Trilegal is a high paymaster, big clientele, high churn and attrition team always and they dont care like kings.

hii, im a second year BA LLB student from an average MHT-CET college, genuinely speaking I have zero clue how law school goes on, currently I'm doing a few research papers w a friend, and CS alongside law school, I really want to make a career in corporate law and intern in top tier firms, would yall please help me out w the same, honestly speaking I gave CLAT but gota score of 69 and I was genuinely heartbroken bc the exam went so well and I lost my father in August the same year so did not have much time to study bc of all the rituals and picked a horrible coaching class in dadar (I stay at goregaon), they had no teachers for quants, changed a lot of teachers and their mocks were incorrect which really affected me as I questioned myself until the end only to be informed that their mock answers were wrong, it was horrible but it is what it is I could've done better, wanted to take a drop year but I panicked and gave CET, NLAT and SLAT, got NMIMS banglore and symbiosis pune but my marks would only fetch me BBA LLB which I did not apply for and also I couldn't just leave my mom like that I just couldn't bring myself to and I really regret that but im happy that I was here for her and then I really wanted PGCL but couldn't get in bc main two percentile se reh gayi so ended up in the college I am rn, also I've been questioning myself lately idk why but im just worried that I might not get good internships which would affect the job aspect, also please help me out w the LLM perspective like what and where is good and everything yall can, I am open to criticisms as well, I genuinely want to know what I can do better, willing to learn and change, thank you!

I know that most of the students from 2026 batch are placed at respectable places. However, me, being a somewhat introverted guy, is in dismay as to what will happen in the upcoming Day Zero for my batch scheduled next year. I barely have any connections and an overwhelming majority do—judging from how they procured T1 internships this sem break. People have done so many moots/adr/publications and I have nothing on my CV. Plus, I am quite sub-standard in speaking english fluently since I grew up in a small city in a state board school where no one had an exposure to the kind of language that is required to even survive in this field. Idek what lies ahead for me.

I know that I am somewhat capable since I cleared CLAT and got an admission here w/o any quota but still I feel I lagged behind tremendously. I did nothing in my life school life. Not even fun like others. i feel that I absolutely wasted my seat that I wished someone else would’ve taken in order to thrive at such a valuable place.

What should I honestly do? Idek if I should sit for placements since my rank is at rock bottom and I don’t have anything to showcase to make up for it either. Moreover, getting a similar crowd at T1 firms is something that I don’t want when I will be in complete agony again. I feel completely lost as to what I want to do myself when most have figured it out already. Litigation is a no go due to plethora of obvious reasons that you guys must’ve figured out by now.

Some people want to get married late, some early. Their choice. Pros and cons of both. But the question I am asking is if early marriage for lawyers is even possible? Lawyers graduate from law school much later, and with so many people being CLAT droppers the age is increasing. Then you have just a small fraction getting T1 firm jobs. Most of them burn out after 1 or 2 years. They go into lower-paying jobs like lit and policy work, which affects their financial goals.

So it's hard to be settled and stable as a law grad before you are 30/35. Unless you are a nepo kid. Anyone disagree?

Total trust fund kid here (investment banker dad, IT professional mum)- hope you'll find this perspective useful:

Why would we work? Because we want to get even richer. Simples. And because those of us who do want to work understand that money is a finite resource that can run out.

Some of us, like me, who had (what are considered in India as) very high-class opportunities want to give our kids even better opportunities, but for that, we need to be richer even than we are now. For example, if I ever have a child who is a son, I would like him to go to school at Eton (assuming he can pass the admissions tests etc, of course, I'd never donate in exchange for admission), and would like any daughter of mine to go to an equivalent in terms of a good English boarding school. That kind of an education was never available for pocket change prices and is out of reach even for most British families earning in GBP, so obviously will be out of reach for the overwhelming majority of Indians. And yet, very conveniently, the current UK government has gone and slapped a VAT charge on fees for private schools like Eton, making the cost go from about £52000 a year to £63000 a year. (My dad claims he could have managed it, but that he didn't ever think about getting me to do that sort of thing because he "didn't want it drilled into [me] that [I am] a rich man's kid", but also because those kinds of prices are a bit of overkill for him, as it is for me practically at this stage - though I want to be in a position where it isn't, down the line.)

However, in the larger scheme of things, 52000 and 63000 isn't all that different - if you can manage 52000, you can manage 63000 (unless you're the sort of fool who is so impractical as to mess around with loans when the latter kind of number comes along or one of the lucky ones who can grab some of the limited partial funding that might be available from time to time). So to be in that position, you need to first get enough that you can spend £63000 a year without living on the street or even crying. Standard way to get to that? Work hard now (maybe even have a miserable career) and try for the most financially rewarding opportunities, so at least you can go to the grave in peace, knowing that the next generation is sorted, thanks to a combination of any generational wealth passed down to you + your own contribution. Unlike a lot of Gen Z people, I feel that if my dad could make such sacrifices for me, then why not do the same for the one who will come after me.

And if the next generation wants to work? Their business, though I would be disappointed if they, too, decided to compromise on career satisfaction as I have. If not? Well, they might throw away the money, ain't nothing I can do about that after a point, that's not my business either.

PS: I didn't go to Jindal. I don't agree with many LI readers on most things, but where I do agree with the majority viewpoint is that JGLS is a bad place to study law. Cohort sizes are totally off the charts, seemingly you can get there as long as you successfully finished primary school.

I have previously worked with the Gurgaon Office of S&A, and wish to inform everyone that as of 2025 it is still one of the worst places to work at.

The Joint Managing Partner is still a rude authoritarian, the firm still employs a policy designed to make the life of it's associates miserable (no WFH, strict 9AM punch in, can't leave before 6:45, random sandwich leave policies, random working Saturdays), and the firm still operates like a boarding school instead of a firm, where associates are treated like shit, and continue to do mechanical labour with little to no application of logic or law.

I recently got into the 5-year LLB program at USLLS, but today during the document verification and offline counselling, I felt quite shattered about my dreams and expectations. The crowd didn’t feel right to me, and maybe it’s just me, but since the cut-offs were lower this year, I couldn’t help but notice that the peer group wasn’t as competitive as I had imagined. I felt a bit out of place.

I haven’t even started preparing for CLAT 2026 yet (my CLAT 2025 rank was around 2.5k – Delhi quota, which honestly I consider sheer luck). I don’t know how I’ll do it, and I feel scared and lost. In fact, I didn’t even feel this lost after the CLAT 2025 results. Part of me feels I should’ve gone with HPNLU or another option.

I don’t mean to shame anyone or the crowd, it’s just my personal thoughts and feelings. I’m 17 right now, and I feel that I could handle taking a partial drop year, but of course, I don’t want to take a huge risk either.

If anyone here could share some wisdom, guidance, or even personal experiences, I’d be really grateful. At this point, I just want to figure out whether I should stick it out at USLLS or give CLAT another shot.

All that BS is just an ongoing negativity being spread about the firm, The pay still remains better and for such packages no top talent does fall into such stupidity of the firms is "Dead" so you keep enjoying to downfall and they are certainly bouncing back harder, and it's just an Independent observer who is seeing this happen.
