Again? How many people will spread this pernicious '20L per hearing' myth? Only very rare cases like that are there. Most people struggle like crazy in Indian litigation, forever.
Quick update: I reviewed the Trilegal website and couldn't find partners at the Gurgaon office for the competition law team. So, now if I want to change the office location, which one to prefer? BUMP!
From a law optional's coaching website, I can see 5 in just top 100 with 1 in top 10! (first since CS Jeydev in 2019)

Yes, this is true. His judgeship was vetoed by the government in favour of others. Since then he has become an anti-Modi influencer.
I actually did, however the โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ left the firm in 1month and the sisters ended up paying the replacement cost to the firm.
pay is โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ. Also he is known more for Real Estate and less Projects or Infra M&A work.
If you actually have the aptitude to crack the top 5 NLUs then it is work taking the drop.
get out of law while you can, only luck and connections makes you rich in this field
As a former sls-p student joining a top 3 law school. Partial frop is the way to go
No, those are both great colleges. Unless you can get into the top 3-4 NLUs, these are as good as it gets, arguably even better than most NLUs.
hiii!

thank u so much this was really helpful, really appreciate it.

one question, what if it's an one shot internship??? how does ppo process go in that?
I lurk here at times. We get to know things about law schools before they're even announced.
Thank you for this! what is your PQE, what caused you to switch and how has the transition been?
Has anyone interned under Sr. Adv Phiroze Edulji in the recent years, to be more precise 2024,2025. If yes, please tell how the experience was and all the related details.
So the IP (Patents & Trademarks) team is relatively decent than most IP firms in Delhi, in fact a really good place to start. โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ. However not sure about the situation after their merger with Mason.
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll definitely look into this. Atleast MBA gets you a proper job at the end
no stipend. salary is peanuts. internship exp. depends under which team/partner. they have good clients and good reputation and u will get a fair idea about bhc litigation.
Bro Akhil Sibal is a legend! His level of knowledge and depth is very hard to reach and only ppl can dream of it, check out all landmark copyright judgments passed by DHC, you will know.
If I were to switch in Khaitan & Co.'s mumbai corporate team, which partner is best to work with - great mentor as well as regards WLB?
Hey!

The ex placement rep here again. I have to say: Bengali is factual. Mota is factual but head is debatable as there was no hierarchy. So largely works by me
Yeah, the VC is in the best position to observe the change because he has recently changed his office from a place which was proximate to the constructions to TC which is far away from the noise or dust of the construction.
Oxonian best efforts are no match for Indian debris and incompetence it seems. Same problem at NUJS I heard.
The resolution means nothing until the Legislative assembly passes an amendment to the statute. So it is all optics and no substance.
Don't mix up contractual appointments with permanent appointments. Many contractual positions are filled by relatively junior people who will leave in a year or two. There is nobody on permanent appointment with your description.
Come back to this after 10-15 years, when you are AoR/designated senior, and you will be charging per appearance what some of your friends earn in half a month :)
I know. I've seen people work for 5k, 8k, 10k and even free (just paid travelling and miscellaneous expenses).. which is why Im scared about future prospects.
Thank you so much. I agree on the UPSC Part, its not worth the risk without a job
And who's going to pay his bills through the "long, long" road ahead? Will be great if you could contribute
hee pan (the younger bro of the master of the universe, sing the jingle in your head if you are of that gen)
Hi, I want to know about the work culture, the type of work at Aretha Legal. Any insights would help. Please do not write RESPECT, as mentioned in a couple of other threads. Any kind of help would mean a lot !
Considering its patchy past. How is their NCR office doing now? Who are the good guys there? What is the culture like?
Hi any openings for A0-A1 capital markets lawyers in T1 rn? Want to move from GC to capital markets.
Daaru ka adda banade.unn unn jago ko, Jahan par construction work ho rha hai..
Lol, it is threat. He is aware of these issues forever, he chose not to act. Won't be an intelligent move to go and discuss these issues with him. Let the other person take the hit.
Only you can help yourself step out of your comfort zone. That said , this field will give you plenty of opportunities for public speaking .
I got into slsp and jgls both and have mhcet coming up (ms student),however i do wonder whether i should give clat another chance? Is a drop worth it ?Is the nlu tag that important?
The team has a high attrition rate, but the reAAson is unknown.
So the societal norms are what bother me from Inside. ( btw, my previous message got submitted before I could finish it.)
Hi everyone, just wondering what everyone's favourite paratha filling is. Personally I like paneer paratha the most.
You do realise we're joking, right? Or are you that bitterly against NLSIU/Sudhir that your instinct to spot humour has gone? How many times did you fail to secure Rhodes and a BCL place that you are so bitter?
I mean, I am good at English and Hindi, but I may not be proficient according to societal constructs, which prevents me from doing things I am actually interested in. Yes, I understand what you meant. I am also exploring other career options.
Ah, someone perpetuating the aforementioned abusive dynamics has entered the chat :)
so now imagine the situattion of people from other private/govt colleges.
Yesterday, the Vice Chancellor stated that maximum efforts are being put so that the amount of debris cause least amount of disturbance and least damage to the aesthetics.
Probably the only firm i know where investors have refused to make the deal if G&G represents the lawyer. absolutely horror of a practice.
NLS charging students 4+ lakhs a year while construction never stops here, not even during class hours. can't hear the prof, can't study, can't breathe through the dust. is this a law school or a construction site
If you are poor in speaking and writing in both English and Hindi, you have no chance in this profession. Might as well pivot to an alternate career right away.
Read the statute a few times. Focus especially on sections 9, 17, 34, and 37. Read landmark judgments like BALCO etc as well.
Have you ever heard the saying that sometimes, a master's tools are what is needed to destroy his house?
Bumping this up. To ask basically is it worth it and whom to reach out to switch from Tier 1 PE VC team to these fund jobs .
NLUJ has 3 Linklaters, 1 TT&A & 1 Majumdar

Better than GNLU ofc :)
Thank you for your kind reply. I needed this. Im trying to venture into teaching eg. CLAT Coaching/UGC NET/Sales related to Publications etc. Im trying, hope something works out soon.
Its true and not talked about at all. NLU tag is not enough anymore. NLUs, esp the T2 ones, have no placement support at all. We used to have a three strike policy where we could only try thrice before... :)))
Thank you for your reply. I wanted to but my parents told me its too late, instead they suggested I can try for UGC NET/teaching/switch within litigation itself as they don't have the bandwidth to support me for 2-3 more years...
Is there anything i can study or refer to for this i have about 15 days for the same.
What do you mean by the last line? "Can understand the reason why they are treating you badly"
Not OP, but from what I have heard that if you are from T1 and 5+ years of PQE, companies donโ€™t usually cut pay that much if you are the candidate they want
Even Modi doesn't know NLUs exist. When was the last time a PM visited any NLU. That's the level we living in.
ILI is a research institute. Only for LLM and PhD. NLUD is focused more on UG. Why combine them ? Why not combine DU, JNU, NLUD, JMI, etc all into one ?
How many times do we have to say... IITs and IIMs are central universities. NLUs are state university. Zameen asmaan ka farak hai funding and recruitment mei.
NLIU - National Law INSTITUTE UNIVERSITY

NLSIU - National Law SCHOOL if India UNIVERSITY.

Better than these horrendous stupid names.
Can anyone share their internship experience at mulla & mulla please and do they pay a stipend?
Can anyone tell their internship experience at Rashmikant and co and Federal and Co. And do they pay stipend?
If you want to go to Singapore to have a life, cap markets isn't the answer. If you just want to be present in Singapore physically, then perhaps it is and by all means go ahead.
Can anyone suggest Tier 2 law firms in Mumbai that specialise in dispute resolution, offer a stipend to the interns, and have a good work environment?
Is it worth joining the #MCI (Mediation Championship India) Crew 2026? The opportunity seems promising.
You should know if you're selected in the coming 1-2 weeks. I can't even say what went writing in the first interview and what went right in the second.
Brother, if you can't help someone in distress. Just don't say anything
itโ€™s absolutely impossible to adjudicate 60 lakh cases in two months. Presidentโ€™s rule is inevitable, because the term of the government is coming to an end.
