I hate it when women get underserved work/job by sleeping with men and pushing all deserved ones a set back because gender ratio don't want any women in power don't want any return from junior male.
You guys first crib about when someone ask to sleep with them because of your averages or below average credentials, you jump ahead of queue by eventually sleeping and putting a blot on merit and get bodily satisfaction/pleasure and earn a supporter in firm throughout you stay there and later come and seeks sympathy by giving out a story how you were treated badly and seek validation on how you're not wrong.
No no no, don't do this. We live in equal opportunities providing world, you're morally wrong and selfish if you choose that option because you know you're not good enough.
There are lot of women who are at the highest of their career, all made by themselves, they didn't take easy route like you, they did when there was no idea of equality, yes, they made it during that time.
No you're from the feminist age and still so subservient that you have to ask here.
I am disappointed in you.

Aus were scared and they wanted a wicket by hook or crook and Lyon absence only motivated to do it. also, Starc dismissal of duckket which was ruled not out on basis of MCC book irked Oz really much, so they thought of giving rule book taste to OZ back and did this. But for me the real match was won when Lyon came for batting and scored those crucial 10-15 runs worked a like huge plus in context of game in hindsight
there was a long thread on this
if you want to do a meaningful comparison you can put the medial of NLUD to 15
Now, People who completes MBA and gets some of these good packages, usually have 2-3years of PQE. So, after graduation they have probably spent 2-3 years working + 2 Years of MBA. Add the opportunity cost of doing an MBA which is very costly as well. On the other hand, someone from a T1 NLU is getting the job as a fresher with no experience. So, even if MBA grads are earning slightly more, if you account for the opportunity cost, then T1 NLU grads are probably earning more than the IIM grads.
There we had three disputes team.
One dispute team had all stressed out associates. The team had all A0s and a partner and a senior partner (Team EM). The team saw highest attrition rate with five to six associates on notice at any point of time.
On the other hand there were other two teams, in disputes which had zero attrition rate. In those team, an intern would work for months and for a time more than an associate in Team EM.
What I mean to say is that, it’s all a matter of luck, if you get a good boss, you are sorted, if not then you go for a toss.
You need to increase your CGPA to atleast be in the top half of your batch to be on the safe side so that firms atleast short list you for the interview. That means you’ll have to have one very good semester where your CGPA is in the top 10-20% of the batch if possible.
After that it does come down to experience in relevant internships and maybe even moots/ADR/publications (yeah, this helps to show knowledge and interest). Some places like CAM/SAM are obsessed with CGPA but others like Trilegal and Luthra aren’t so anal about it. Do atleast another two tier-1 internships if possible. Another question here is which tier-1 you’re from since all tier-1s have 120-odd kids now. It might be slightly harder at places like NLUD which haven’t had as many placement numbers historically for various reasons, whereas it might be a little easier at places like NALSAR/NUJS even with a lower rank, albeit at tier-2 firms mostly.
As a result, the firm ended up with surplus associates that they had to mail partners about — basically requesting them to consider adding them to the team. For a firm culture that famously makes students intern for 3-6 months before handing out a PPO, that simply did not suit them. They're still dealing with that surplus, so I highly doubt that they're in the position to come for Day Z again.
I have financial obligations, else would have left this pathetic place. Everyday I wake up at 8, reach office at 10, come back at 1/2 Am and sleep- this is my schedule- even on weekends. I may be pulling 35-40LPA- but have already got white hair at 28! This is what a toxic place does to you.
I salute the person here!
Here are some facts:
1. It takes immense hardwork to top on NLU. Probably you won’t know that.
2. If some one chooses law firm, he/she won’t run away from hardwork- but may run away from toxicity.
3. SnP, SCAM have high attrition rate - thanks to the toxic people there.
No blazer I'm carrying because Mumbai and otherwise don't think needed for interns per se.
Basic points kept in mind, smell good, ironed clothes, look presentable, have formal laptop sleeve yada yada. All taken friends.
I have a few semesters to go before Day Zero, and I'm close to losing hope of having a successful career in law. I've seen with my own eyes the struggle of those who are not placed from campus, this fate is something i fear and it feels like it's already inevitable for me.
At the same time, I want to persevere for i do love this field and do not have any regrets whatsoever choosing law.
So here i am, asking for advice from those who've been there and persevered, in the same situation as me.
T1, No contacts, Bad GPA.
How do i increase my chances of being placed?
1. The Faculty crisis - while the VC is trying to make amends to the situation and many new professors have been recruited (whose quality is still yet to be seen), it is imperative that NALSAR should not only take advantage of the brand that they have but also gain more qualitative teachers. The loss of the likes of Pranav Verma and Sudhanshu Kumar is not just lamented by students who did know them, but also the students who do not know them. I sincerely hope that NALSAR engages its own alumni and reaches out to them and their contacts, something to the likes of what Sudhir Krishnaswamy has done with NLS and bring important and thought provoking teachers who fill these students with quality.
2. Administration Crisis - The administration is turning to not look into the demands of students. NALSAR is a place known for its freedom but lately, the administration is taking onto things that is frankly more than it can chew. For example - NALSAR had this customary ritual of students 4th and 5th years living in single hostels but due to a new LLM course started by the administration (which strains the overly strained faculty more), also leaves the new students and increasing batch sizes with no space to live, forget thrive. Administration should be more careful about making decisions that it currently does not have the ability to support.
3. ICC pushback - the formation of ICC usually used to be in 3rd year and while as one may recognise that the NALSAR tag is plenty to get you through some internships, it is still difficult for many students to get these internships who lack connections. Forget Tier I, you have to effectively stand all alone till 4th year strikes and the students are then piped through the ICC process. It is very important for the 3rd years to be directed through ICC. And it is in the hands of students to fix things that went very wrong in the pandemic. They should really be learning from GNLU's RCC and ICC which everything apart have a great LinkedIn presence and manage their affairs really well that students even got Trilegal to offer online internships to students (just recently, not just the pandemic).
4. Moot Hosting - While NALSAR has a great system of selecting the parties that would form the OC of the moots, it is very important to note that pandemic has left current batches with little to no inspiration as to what the moots earlier used to look like. but this should not hold a limit onto NALSAR as to how well they can host moots. NALSAR CCI moot did not end up being the finest mooting experience for a lot of the participants (which we hope to make up for). And therefore, NALSAR should focus on investing moots funds wisely to ensure that the mooting experience of parties is seamless.
5. The Legal aid conundrum - While the legal aid society has been newly formed with full strength. It is important to see that the Legal Aid society in NALSAR has till now not done well. They have no projects and no mass drives that have been introduced. NALSAR should really follow in NLIU's footsteps to see what a successful legal aid centre looks like at the small scale or NLUD 39A (you knew I was coming to that) at the large scale.
6. The Food Factor - the mess food at NALSAR is horrible to say in the very least. While many of you would write atleast it is not like CNLU's very own Donoghue v Stevenson (snail was found) (if memory serves), it is still horrible. Students spend so much money eating outside food that is just normal food which is somewhat edible. Every year during the time parents come, the food quality is at its peak. So clearly the workers can do their jobs well. (we can fight for their wages, but we have to fight for our food too) But, seem to forget as soon as parents leave the premises. The students really need to gear up and resolve this to ensure that they do end up consuming sufficient nutrients.
Hence, NALSAR needs to work on all of these to be better. Add anything in the comments and hope that students consider this as a call to unify towards taking the future of our university in our own hands.
if you have a good CV apply in Jerome merchant also
Mr. Abraham is very well read and knows and handles the entire team himself. And his associate Taasha is also good. They treat people nicely, but they have a lot to do on their bare shoulders. But if you compare the amount of work they get, it is no way to closer to Tier II or even III firms. So, if you want a peaceful and happy job, join them but it would not give you the taste of the hustle if that is what you want

In my observation, the percentage of such women in the legal profession is possibly higher than in others. I’m not sure why, but perhaps the reason is that it takes a long while for women to be earning well independently in this profession, except nepo kids and a few Big 7 associates. Guys perhaps prefer girls in other careers where money is earned quicker. Another reason could be that women lawyers are fiercely independent-minded and choosy. I’m not trying to be derogatory or stereotype such women as grumpy, bossy, unattractive cat ladies. On the contrary, I have often found such women to be very attractive and great to talk to. I much prefer listening to them talk about old movies/music than girls my age talk about dumb social media trends . … I’m just commenting on what I think is a striking social phenomenon about relationships among a certain demographic.
I'm bumping it up 'cause I want all my fellow trolls to see this post and troll the OP in unison and make him/her feel miserable about his/her choice. Hehehe.....
It seems like they will sneakily reclaim the land and raise it over sea level. I hope the campus (or any other development) is never built on that alloted site.
Or do a MBA
Anyway, carry on.

Only 14 NLUs actually shared the placements scenario openly.
This is for the ones who keep cribbing about tiers among NLUs all the time.
Below NLIU, Nobody is giving you a above 10 lakh salary.
Then, The range is 6 lakh to 10 lakh.
Out of the 13 NLUs which were established after CNLU, only 3 of them have actually shared the NIRF reports.
This shows that the top 12 is a different league all together.
The later 4 are lagging behind even after getting more than 1 decade. (Established before 2014)
Then come the ones which are yet to have a taken a decade. Literally, no NLU except NLU Nagpur has released the report.
Where to go then?
Best Non NLUs placements wise (in no particular order)
Symbi, GLC, ILS, Amity, BVP, Jindal, Nirma, ... Add as you feel.
They have mostly M&A and Startup investment work. As an associate, you will have to work long hours. Pay is extremely poor.
Work-life balance- Poor
Culture- No toxicity. Very helpful seniors. You will get to learn a lot.
Food- They provide evening snacks for free to everyone, ranging from pizza to samosas and all kinds.
This is especially noteworthy since NLUJ has been historically one of the few top NLUs not to have domicile seats.
Thoughts?
Also do many companies recruit from sls for their in house counsel or its only firms?

If it did, nevermind. To answer your question, no LGBT person currently resides at the campus.
Okay then again you'd say if you accept it's got only two data points and it's a baby NLU, why scream that it's the best then? You're right, but you see this Baby NLU is vigorously developing. There are various soft factors working but since the results are yet to materialize in tangible benefits, things won't be very much visible except the infrastructure.
Your tone in every MNLU thread is condescending and venomous. Please learn to write sensibly. We calling ourselves good doesn't necessarily mean that we're calling others bad. But toxic people like you take things the other way round. Remember karma will hit you back when you condescend students from newly established NLUs.

- If you benefited from reservations, your children should not get the same benefit
- Reduce reservation to 10% from the present 50%
- No reservation in government jobs AND education. Has to be only one of the two.
- Have reservation only for Dalits. Scrap OBC reservation, which is currently benefiting only powerful castes like Yadavs, Jats and Gujjars.
"Affirmative action was initially conceived as a means to rectify historical injustices and promote diversity. However, over time, it has deviated from its original intent, leading to a system that often favours privileged students rather than addressing systemic inequalities. ...
India’s reservation policy should be periodically evaluated and reformed to ensure it remains effective and equitable. There is a need to address the concerns raised by critics while ensuring that the policy continues to uplift marginalised communities. Transparency, fairness, and meritocracy should be central to any reservation system.
...Rather than relying solely on race or caste-based preferences, comprehensive approaches should be adopted considering multiple dimensions of disadvantage, including socioeconomic factors and educational opportunities. This will enable a more nuanced and effective approach to promoting diversity and social justice."

P.S- personal opinions expressed over a public forum, feel free to get pissed, hurl abuse, give counterfactual but some things better left be undisputed. The more you guys justify below this, the more it works against you, as it always has, as it always shall.
Gen Z people supporting this should understand that cricket has a rich, upper class gentlemanly tradition. It is not a game for street thugs and riff, like football.
Around 100 outsider candidates who were qualified Prelims, Gujarati proficiency test, and mains last year couldn't qualify their Gujarati proficiency test this time .
Around 2 writ petitions are pending in Apex court against minimum criteria of 20 marks out of 50 in the interview. Even though candidates perform exceptionally well in mains exam, couldn't able to qualify this exam merely because at interview stage they get 19, 19.6, 18, 17 etc. Similar, trend can be seen in MP civil judge exam
They publishes their result with following disclaimer
"Any application, even under the RTI Act, etc. with regard to the Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test) & Test of Gujarati Language, will not be entertained till completion of entire Recruitment Process"

Powerful people make places powerful.
It’s exemplary to kick a tier 1 and join a lower ranked place. He/she with his/her expertise will surely make that place bigger than tier 1. Rankings are a myth, it’s people who work for places and make it top.
You never know.
Some one who has worked hard for five years won’t shy away from hardwork in a law firm.
Don’t vent your personal grudge here
Covid happened (so 0 hostel fee) and we got a discount of 30k in our 7th sem (since 6th sem fees was fully paid but services were availed for 45 days) so I had to pay 1.07 Lakhs in my 4th year. I had to pay 1.37 Lakhs in my 5th year.
All in all I had to pay a little under 12 Lakhs for the 5 year degree.
The first 3 years were definitely difficult for my family, they sold an old car we had, pawned some jewellery for a gold loan etc, delayed paying our home loan instalments, and none of us had any health insurance (huge risk in covid) and plenty of other things.
Hope this answers your query.
Hardwork is something they are great at, if he/she has left Tier 1 and joined some other firm and is staying there, that shows how toxic that tier 1 was!
There was also a NLU ▮▮▮ Topper who left (yes served his notice) and left a team in three months.
I guess you are talking about NLU Topper who was Rank 1 and had 6-or-7 golds and joined ▮▮▮.
I know him personally- we talk like once bimonthly- Let me tell you about him.
He is a simple guy, yes socially he is akward, but he is really a gem.
He was preparing for civil.
Financial constraints and anxiety made him quit that and he joined ▮▮▮ in ▮▮▮.
I had a conversation with him where he told me about his situation at ▮▮▮ and the things he told me, I was convinced that he should leave.
He served his notice in 2 months and left during Christmas break. He was not terminated for sure- infact he was shouted at for serving his notice.
He took break for 3-4 months, and last month I got to know that he has joined a Tier 2 firm in Bombay in ▮▮▮. He told me he is happy there at less salary.
I am glad to know that he has finally settled.
Chennai is a very underrated commercial market. It houses most of India's physical foriegn investment in the form of Automotive manufacturing plants and other top industrial parks. It more of a industry Oriented economy. Chennai is also second to Bangalore for its IT industry. Tamil Nadu as such is the most industrialized state, and second to Gujarat in terms of economic growth. With many other tier 2 cities in the form of Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy and industrial towns like Salem, Erode, Tuticorin, Hosur etc the legal market in Chennai isn't restricted to Chennai alone. It encompasses a wider legal practice encompassing these places too, whether in the form of M&A, disputes etc.
Chennai legal practice Coming to corporate work, the Chennai Bar has traditionally been a top disputes oriented practice for centuries. This is understandable considering that Madras HC is among the 3 oldest Chartered High Courts in India. High stake corporate work for TN/Chennai has been mostly done by Bombay Solicitors for close to a century since Bombay was always the commercial capital of India and that is where the practice of a transactional attorney took shape in india historically. That translates to why the Chennai bar did not have a fledgling corporate practice for a larger part of the 20th century, while it was doing wonders in the disputes practice
However, the scene has been changing in the last 15 years with many corporate lawyers being ex lawyers at several big indian corporate law firms returning to Chennai to either start their boutique practice or starting a local branch for Mumbai/Delhi firms. At present, SAM, CAM, Indus Law, Dua, AZB, Khaitan, ICUL, JSA, Tatva Legal, Kochhar, Fox Mandal have a thriving corporate practice largely due to the positive economic atmosphere in the state that has been regularly attracting a big chunk of foriegn and domestic investment in the state.
Pay
Yes, pay will not match Mumbai because Chennai is obviously a cheaper city to survive. You don't have to pay 40-50k for a 1rk near your office like you have to do in Mumbai. You will be getting a great 1bhk/2bhk for 18-24k near your Chennai law firm offices. Starting salaries in the national law firms will be around 40-50k and other top local law firms like HSB is 35-45k and that grows with pqe. So you will be able to have a decent life with savings as well if you budget properly.
Diversity
Chennai is a metropolitan city with a cosmopolitan culture unlike the general false perception that the City is anti North Indian. There is large population of marwadis, gujjus, Jain's and bora muslims that have settled in Chennai for centuries. The locals aren't hostile unless you criticise/mock the culture and language or CSK (lol). Yes, it is true that the diversity is lesser than Delhi/Mumbai/Bangalore which is largely due to geography and weather and not due to a dearth of employment opportunities. A UP person would prefer Mumbai rather than Chennai similar to his a malayali/tamizhan preferring Chennai over Mumbai.
However, the work life balance they have is far more superior as compared to lawyer's little to no WLB. Again its a trade off b/w money and WLB.
Talking about management, the pay for some big firms is nice (but they also make fool by CTC) work hours are more or less same as a lawyer( thats what my cousin told me who is an investment banker at a top firm and a grad from IIM A).
Also, keep in mind that IIM ABC grads who get high packages of 40-50 lacs also usually have certain years of experience before graduating from IIM. So comparing a lawyer's salary at A0 with some experienced person graduating from IIM may not be a fair comparison.
Now laugh 😂😂😂😂😂
I am extremely determined and unlike most gen Z’s care about more about growth, and less about work life balance and free weekends blah blah.
I just want to be at the top of my game in 10 years from now.
Any suggestions?
If you have worked hard and done everything you can and someone is still asking you for sex ? Leave that workplace first chance you get. Stand up for yourself. Find better people to work with. Maybe find women lawyers/ professors.
Be good at your job. Like exceptional. Go above and beyond. Be nice to everyone at work. Even the guard at the gate and the guy who brings you chai.
Have you even read sudhirs writing? man is as doctrinal as they come. Hes not a natural law person, hes not a postmodern post-colonial intersectional queer theory person. he can talk jurisprudence but more often than not- hes not doing that. Literally, go watch any video of his lectures online, go sit in any of his classes. I have sat in his classes. He's just talking about the law. in a fairly straight forward manner. He won't condescend to you and explain things like you're five. He will expect you to read ahead. But theres nothing there thats too difficult. Most of his questions to the class are just him trying to get them to show theyve read the article. He is talking usually at the level that a high school graduate should understand if they pay attention. the problem is you dont like the law. and thats a you problem. fix your motivation problems.
I have only seen this website treat sudhir this way. it protects all other real people. it protects other VCs accused of physical violence, professors accused of plagiarism, others accused of sexual harassment, even rape, and it protects people in the ed tech space who are clearly running a scam. It does so by moderating. Those posts are anonymised. Its only sudhir that we have made a sport of. And its disgusting. For no other professor do you even see this kind of vitriol posted. Is sudhir evil incarnate that he would be the only one? or are posts against other people moderated while sudhir is seen as fair game?
Every single time ive seen someone praise the man on this website- its someone sticking up for him after he has been attacked.
How many of the people you name did leave NUJS? not everyone is gonna be honest enough to tell their students they dont measure up. They will simply talk about it behind closed doors among fellow colleagues.
Try and take feedback better. You are not always the victim because someone told you to be better.
I have yet to see any evidence that Sudhir ever attempted to harm any student physically or did anything at all to justify a physical assault on him.
The fact that these students failed to hurt him because he wasn’t in the room doesn’t to my mind morally absolve them from attempting it at all.
They just imposed many arbitrary policies with respect to examination and now the new hostel policy. They preach about Mental Health of students yet mental health of students is on a toll.
Yet, they can by pass UGC Guidelines for the appointment of Registrar.
