pem2lamoNalsar Hyderabad has turned a new leaf on the dramatic events of last year that culminated in the resignation of its then-vice chancellor (VC). An investigation by the Andhra Pradesh bar council has now exonerated senior faculty members who were alleged to have enjoyed financial and administrative privileges under the previous administration, while the controversial post of dean of academic affairs has been abolished, and Prof Vijender Kumar has been appointed as registrar.

Nuals Kochi and NLU Orissa climbed in the traditional college preferences of Common Law Admissions Test (CLAT) at the expense of RMLNLU Lucknow and CNLU Patna, while other CLAT preferences remained unchanged in the corrected university allotment list, with NLSIU Bangalore coming top followed by Nalsar Hyderabad, NUJS Kolkata, NLIU Bhopal and NLU Jodhpur.

NLU Jodhpur The 2012 Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) university allotment list, which ranks NLIU Bhopal ahead of NUJS Kolkata according to Legally India analysis, has been disputed by several students, with one claiming on Facebook that the convenors have confirmed a new list would be published within days.

Nalsar-hyderabadNalsar Hyderabad’s recruitment coordination committee (RCC) for 2012 placed all 43 of its campus placement participants from the batch of 72 students graduating from the law school this year. The 100 per cent target achieved in campus placement spanned 14 Indian organisations and two foreign law firms.

Out of the 29 non-participating students while some have accepted LLM offers and judicial clerkships, most will join court practice.

NLSIU was established in 1987 as the first of India’s flagship national law universities (NLUs).

Nalsar Hyderabad became the first Indian team to win the international rounds of the Oxford Media Law moot by defeating the University of Technology, Sydney in the final rounds.

NLU Delhi finished as semi-finalist in the moot. NLSIU Bangalore won its eighth best memorandum award this season at the Tier 2 World Class MPL moot.

Nalsar gets balls arena Exclusive: Nalsar Hyderabad’s student council has secured funds to upgrade sporting facilities in preparation for the college’s debut inter-college sports fest by next year to join the ranks of NLSIU Bangalore, NUJS Kolkata, NLU Jodhpur, NLIU Bhopal, RMLNLU Lucknow and GLC Mumbai that all have inter-college sports fests.
