Is it interesting? For me, yes and no. Yes because everything I did was new and something to learn, but the work itself isn't inherently interesting. When it starts to get diversified such as assisting on drafting SHA / SSA, research for issuance of legal opinion etc, it gets better.
I left the law firm to join a family member's practice but I wouldn't mind continuing in the firm tbh.
This is simply fascism. The guards literally stare at girls and couples, and over the last 2 weeks, they have been doing such weird things.
Will see what can I do.
Firstly, if it's just for gaming. It's fine. Because your gaming and work laptop should be seperate.
Also, a lawyer using a gaming laptop looks childish. It's immature to go to a conference with a gaming laptop.
Also, these laptops won't last more than an hour or two (battery) as thier powerful GPUS take all the power.
Well, People tell we can use Reddit instead of Legally India. But that can't happen.
Why? Reddit for every single answer you need a username. Otherwise your partner could easily track down who's bitching about him or her. Reddit is not truly anonymous. Legally India is.
That's why people even divulge information on NDA here on LI.
So LI should atleast exist. That's the first goal. It shouldn't shut down.
I am thinking of practicing law in my thirties or forties when I will not have money crunch as such. What do you think about this?
But what’s next? We want premier league tables , more threads on law firms…..
If you want to remove dogs, go ahead and do it but face the legal consequences because obviously it's illegal and there will be consequences :)
Speaking about the prospects - I will say it’s not bad. You will be eligible for the SEBI Grade A legal manager exam. It will quench your thirst of banking sector a lot. You apply to several independent banking law firms as well. Start out with boutique firms. The legal insight will surely be an advantage in your CV and ofc for your competitive career as well. It will help you in your workplace as well! All the best!
If you are a non NLIU student, just try to visit NLIU for any competition or Virudhaka(sports fest). You will definitely not regret it.
Thanks if you read the comment till here.
P. S. - I don't have a financially well off family & I don't have a connection/network in the legal profession.
Personally, I am completely clueless on what kind of professional career I wanna to make. I literally don't know what I really wanna do.
Would be very happy if you give your valuable 2 cents to resolve my dilemma.
We get to be the only consistent nlu to be in touch with the parliament for criminal reforms ❤️
2. Resourceful- Everyone prefers someone who "brings to the table", so yes it matters for you to work atleast and make a living and not dump everything on the girl and be her sugar baby. However it does not matter how much you make. Female partners in several t1 firms are known to marry PAs/ Counsels making half the money they make. If a girl is saying she wants to marry a millionaire/ crore"pati", she is not the right girl and will suck off that money before you know. But guys like to generalise all women as this.
3. Time- There's a difference between working 24 7 and not having time to spend, and having 4 hours apart from sleep time and drinking with the boys and then saying you got no time. Girls want time to be spend with you. Girls also work hard for several hours and understand the value of time, and if you love her, she will even give excuses to accommodate you. Sadly many guys don't value this.
aur real cute log aise jataate nahi lol
These are some of the people raising concerns of hygiene and safety regarding dogs on college.
We are here to study and we share a common space with the dogs who were born here. The entitlement of people pushing to remove the dogs does not surprise me but all their concerns would be taken seriously if they actually care about safety and hygiene, not just when it is an inconvenience for them. No one is asking these people to take money out of their pockets and feed dogs, they can very well use it for whatever they please, just don't dictate how we should use our money. And yes, we are not going to adopt every other dog and bring them home, this campus is their home, they belong here, and deserve to be here perhaps even more than you do. You are welcome to dictate us and ask us to adopt dogs, thank you, might consider it, might not, come to a discussion with practical and reasonable solutions.

Aur single bhi, bas you shouldn't be a marathi
Most of these animal lovers are rich brats who grew up with pets and have enough money to keep a pack of biscuits every time they are outside of their room. I don't want to get bitten by them, I don't want to be licked by them, it makes me feel unclean, and I don't want to spend money on their upkeep no matter how small the amount may seem to you.
I just want to feel safe when I'm roaming around the campus for which I paid a pretty heavy fee.
Same goes for NLIU, and I went there for some competition, infra is mediocre when compared to newer NLUs.
If Infra is the only concern then RGNUL / RMLNLU.
And we will continue feeding, and we reiterate, no feeder is going to assume responsibility for the living expenses or medical expenses for anyone injured by the dogs.

Maybe the INC appointee recruits from NLSIU, the AAP appointee from NLUD, the TMC appointee from NUJS etc? This could build a formidable force. Students too could prefer working for INDIA's Research Committee rather than Vidhi, as Vidhi is toeing the establishment line.
Part 2 please.

It would be relevant to recall that during the Saraf vs Luthra case, Luthra coughed up 75 cr overnight, without any hesitation, as if its pocket change to him. This from a guy who has been running a firm for around 20 yrs and now compare that to SSS whose family has been in the game since over a century.

This firm is heights.
Given my college's limited placement support, I am seeking internship opportunities with firms that do not heavily rely on placements and where I can potentially secure a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) based on my performance. Could you recommend specific teams or firms that align with this objective?
You have a single Badminton court thats laughable
Your TT Tables are kept in class rooms
You don't have a cricket ground
Apart from that, your students no nothing apart from studying for Judiciary
The solution to relocate them is embarrassingly ineffective and unoriginal and moreover, illegal. The dogs are aggressive because they are either in heat or hungry and regularly feeding them, neutering them and vaccinating them is the only viable long term solution and this responsibility falls upon the administration of a college not on animal rights activists.
The people wanting to get them relocated are just trying to illegally remove dogs and resort to a rather ineffective strategy. All the best to that.

I need this one to last for atleast 5 years. Please gIve your suggestion. Thank you.
It's my moral and legal right and I will continue to do so and you can't stop the feeders because you have no basis to do so. My college has a bunch of entitled people I owe absolutely nothing to. No feeder is responsible for any of the conduct of dogs and you are free to establish otherwise if you can :)
Individual teachers like Rajneesh Singh (Do Zen) and Nishant Prakash Delhi could be preferred. Bahul good in Indore. Mrs Hema Raman in Chennai.
Best individual faculty should be chosen in every city, not profit making companies like career launcher or clat possible.
NUJS, CNLU are worst.
Just for some money this law school forcing students to take one more test and paying money and wasting one precious day of time.
Wish some one filed PIL like Varun Bhagat to stop this selfish and unnecessary exam of NLU Delhi.
Project finance- most boring templates based work. Just advising on borrowing for a Project or lending for a project. Your prior experience from RE will be very relevant (particularly if you understand how charges are created etc).
Do judicial magistrate in Delhi get vip apartment?
In this thread I will pour out my thoughts (opinions) and experience (facts) of legal profession in General.
I am a 2020 grad from Tier -4/5 law school from a far flung no name Law school in a state. After my graduation, I immediately joined litigation. Needless to say, since our college was not so big, our only focus was Bank PO, SSC and other govt competitive exams. Me and my batch mates had no other plans. I tried a few exams then rested my pen. I joined litigation in 2021 under a senior lawyer in District court.
To my shock, juniors were not paid anything ANYWHERE in India regardless the forum, the senior advocates income and size of chamber. I continued to litigate as I had no other option. Meanwhile I came across few people from better Universities and they told me about Corporate Law Firms and how since I dont have any internships and because I am not from an NLU so I dont stand a chance at getting into them. Made me sad. I still message and reply to people working in law firm in hope of getting some guidance and break. But, I have dropped the hope.
Another issue with legal profession as also highlighted by CJI Sir recently is crazy work hours, be it inhouse, law firm or in litigation , litigation is the most toxic profession with crazy work hours. It really messes up family life. It sucks the soul out of your body and you really start to question your value as an individual and your reason to live. In other words, you hit existential crisis which often leads to undiagnosed high functioning depression.
Due to crazy work hours,
that was the plan by GS when he mooted AIBE in 2009, unfortunately only half the plan was executed and we had to wait for 15 years for the full plan to be firmed up
What is tnnlu?
The Consortium said that an appropriate policy decision will be taken to govern future editions of CLAT after comments from experts and thorough consultations.”
Some changes may be witnessed from the 2025 edition or at least some attempts towards those changes
So the cast is set now.
Since as lawyers, we end up spending 12-14 hours in office, it’s also important where we work and what facilities we get. Also, travelling in Mumbai is a big headache so wanted to understand the office infrastructure in Mumbai from people working there.
I’ll go first:
SAM office Mumbai
Pros:
Really fancy office housed in Nariman Point
Spacious cubicles for associates
Sea view: Office is Right at the edge of the sea, and even some associates have cubicles beside the glass walls overlooking the sea (as opposed to only partners having this view)
Cons
Corner of South Mumbai, so takes time to reach there/ expensive to take accommodation nearby
Waiting time bit long in the morning due to crowding in lifts
Bit isolated from other corporate firms in Lower Parel
JSA Mumbai
Pros
Housed in a quaint little building (old architecture) in a mostly government office dominated space
Almost entire building is occupied by JSA so easy access to all floors
Spacious cubicles for associates
Cons
Very isolated from other law firms in Lower Parel/ Fort
Extreme end of South Mumbai so expensive to find decent accommodation nearby
Small office size and No natural light as all outer ends are taken up by partner offices or conference offices. May feel stuffy at times
CAM / AZB - Lower Parel (corporate office)
Located in the same corporate park in Lower Parel, just 500 m across each other
Pros
Offices situated at the heart of Lower Parel, so easily accessible by local
Kamla Mills and Raghuvanshi mills + Phoenix mall nearby - places with high end restaurants and bars to chill after work
Possible to get accommodation in nearby buildings on rent although it is slightly pricey
Cons
It’s AZB and CAM 💀
Anyway, do add to this list if you work in other big firms. Thanks.
