You should be able to upload photos already, at least on PC / desktop. Just copy the picture into the clipboard (best done by taking a screenshot, or by right clicking on a picture open in the web browser and clicking 'Copy Image'). Then when you're writing the comment, you should just be able press Ctrl+V to paste the image right into the input text box.
Indeed, thank you @Darkseid for the bug report, that's now fixed - usernames are now completely hidden from the old LI frontpage, since they weren't that useful in that context anyway, and apparently usernames were getting matched with wrong comments on the homepage due to a glitch.

Out of interest - do many people still find the old LI homepage useful for seeing an overview of latest comments, or do you directly go to https://www.legallyindia.com/convos ?
Looks like the mod here beat your reply by a country mile. According to the logs, the post was moderated around 9:40ish pm :)
Not hiring but a massive great big thank you goes to all the new volunteer moderators who have done a truly fantastic job today!

Do say hi to them and let them know your appreciation https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/277179-say-hello-to-our-new-li-moderator-overlords

Any technical issues or other faults, are most likely ours and not theirs.
Oi, be nice to the mods! Also, urdumb :) @(Tier-1 NLU) is literally correct: the original claim is hyperbolic, unless the industry only consists of 6 or 7 firms, there are approximately 572 Indian law firms that pay less than CAM (and probably one or two in the Big 7 also still pay less than CAM, depending on how you slice bonuses, fixed, etc?).
Hi, thanks for your feedback.

1. though everyone please try to tone it down and de-escalate a little, as much fun as it is to bash each others' law schools :) Criticism is fine, but please don't go overboard and keep harping on the same points, like NLU Delhi fudging figures in NIRF, or NUJS + Mamata = evil, or XNLU being awful, or whatever. Please stick to factual criticism, rather than just opinions, if possible.

2. Genuine request: please tone down politics talk in general. The vast majority of readers and commenters will ultimately not benefit or enjoy if LI turns into an SJW crusader platform, or full of incessant Modi or Raga bashing, or everyone's favourite unwoke WhatsApp uncle foaming at the mouth and railing against the evil Wokes being the end of modern civilisation. There are enough platforms for all this left vs right culture war nonsense and fake news, so if this is important to you, please seek those out rather than LI - there should be plenty of other interesting things for educated lawyers to talk about.
Thank you for the kind offer @Lawyer98 and glad LI has been useful and interesting. We've added you to the top of the list once things have settled down a little! :)
Thank you @pretzell, will definitely let you know. As mentioned above, we'll let the existing batch settle in first and make sure nothing is very badly broken, and how it works out in practice, etc, but will definitely let you know afterwards.
Hi @(2023 CU Grad), thank you so much, I'm glad LI has been helpful to you over the years.

Regarding your first question, yes, of course moderators can participate in discussions (in fact, they are strongly encouraged to do so if they feel like it). And of course moderators (or any other logged in users) can also post anonymously while logged in by selecting the 'Hide your username for this post' button, if they feel like commenting in complete anonymity.

And thank you for your offer - there are quite a few new moderators at the moment, so we'd like to probably let them settle in first for a few days / weeks and iron out bugs, teething troubles, etc, but we'll definitely get back to you for the next round of 'promotions' :)
Dear LI community.

Due to popular long-running demand and dissatisfaction with the speed of our moderation, we have mixed and opened things up a little as an experiment.

Many thanks to @AshReh, @TheLord, @(Tier-1 NLU), @TroubledLawyer and @waqeel (in alphabetical order), for volunteering in this recent threadfor the (hopefully not) thankless and tough task of mainting a semblance of decorum on LI πŸŽ‰

All of their accounts have been upgraded to moderator status, which means they will now have considerable power and responsibility in the LI microcosm, subject to ultimate moderation by our regular mod @LegallyIndia. We have posted some more details in the following thread, which should only be accessible to moderators): https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/277177-welcome-new-mods-lets-talk-moderation-and-community

And if others are interested in volunteering, please let us know in this thread (after having signed up anonymously with your username) - we will likely be shuffling the numbers of moderators around in the coming weeks to find a team that gels well. In the meantime, due to the moderation system, posts will likely get published faster but may sometimes also get unpublished or also get locked for a while.

Good luck, god speed and ❀️! Please let us know how it goes 🧿
Dear @AshReh, @TheLord, @(Tier-1 NLU), @TroubledLawyer and @waqeel (in alphabetical order), thank you again for volunteering for the thankless (except from us) and tough task of mainting a semblance of decorum on LI πŸŽ‰.

I'm pretty sure Chinese hackers have more interesting things to do than hack a Free Tibet session held at an Indian NLU. :)
Here, have an upvote! But please don't take it personally, the internet can be a cruel space, and only getting 2 downvotes is not very much at all :) They may both have slipped with their mouse, or maybe two people out of pinciple downvote anything that gets the featured tag, etc :)
Hi, good to hear from you - 2014 was waaay back! :)

Don't be sad, nothing lasts forever but glad LI was there and useful and impactful in its previous avatar, while it was, and hope the current avatar is also and will continue to be helpful and fun for people.

Neither magic circle, nor publishing business: have gone to do something completely unrelated for a while :)
Cautiously, we're pleased to announce that the up and downvoting bug may actually be fixed... So you should now be able to like and dislike posts anonymously without running into the infamous Error 9. Fingers crossed - please let us know if you encounter any issues.

The downside is that this won't please conspiracy theorists who thought the algorithm was biased against them personally :)
Hi, thanks for letting us know. Also go GenZ! (but I thought you guys just used phone apps and didn't know what websites are anymore? :) Please also create a username and log in with it so we know who you (pseudonymously) are.
Hi, yes please, do say hi and introduce yourself - we are just putting some of our technical ducks in a row but should be ready soon.
We rolled out an update to the site today, which unfortunately broke commenting functionality, leading to some strange errors. Everything should now be restored and working again, apologies for the inconvenience.

There's a new dark mode theme, for reading LI at night (or during the day) to save your eyes somewhat, as well as some tweaks in functionality and appearance. If you have any feedback, please let us know.

We are also hoping to select and welcome new moderators soon and will keep you posted. If you are interested, please create an account (or log into your account), and leave a message below letting us know why you would like to help with moderation.
Hi there, thanks for all your feedback and great to hear that LI has been and continues to be useful 😊

We don't intend to close down LI and have no intention of ever shutting down the archives. If there are financial difficulties in future in maintaining the archives or paying the bills, we will let you know and will be grateful for all your help, of course, thank you very much for offering.

Hope you are well and happy!

Kian
Hi! But surely you mean Kiang Kian? :)

We have some plans but at present we have no plans to revert to LI's previous avatar but will continue iterating and hopefully improving on what it currently is, hopefully with your help and support!
