Also my guy/girl from the third reply, why are you so salty? Dingy law college, wannabe, cut some slack man. There is enough for everyone to go around. Or maybe you did not get through?

sure bro, many interns work really hard at this firm in all teams, yet they choose those with connects with partners/ clients, which shows the large tier 3 NLU intake last year.
Dude you should join Ambani's or Adani's Office for desired salary except them none other can pay.
Btw f.y.k.info fresher civil judges now gets nearly 1.12L/m salary (Basic + DA 42%) excluding perks after 2njpc in every states & not 85K/m.
I had an interview with an associate for the same and fairly answered all questions. They spent 15 mins giving me all the details of the paralegalship and how many hours, how internship is different. Etc. And said the hr will get back in 6 days.
Do you think I shd consider this confirmed ?
In other words, good education is expensive (which is why Harvard too is one of the most expensive Universities to attend), you know nothing better than to stereotype like a naive child, and Jindal has serious students as well and NLUs have rich brats as well.

โLast week, Canadian Minister Justin Trudeau announced in Canadian Parliament that Canada has credible evidence that agents of the Indian government are responsible for the murder of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar, on Canadian soil.
For decades, the Sikh diaspora has said we're experiencing foreign interference by India in the west. We've come into contact with it in our organizing spaces, our protests, and our neighborhoods. Our parents have warned us about it our whole lives. Many ask me: why does India target Sikhs? For one, we are loud about where we stand. Sikhs have openly critiqued PM Modi, who is fast-tracking India into an authoritarian state. Our ancestors were loud about the tyrants that preceded him.
Since Prime Minister Trudeau's announcement, the world has seen the absurdities of India's media. Indian news commentators have openly spoken of targeting not only Sikhs abroad but also "nuking" PM Trudeau. India is amongst the world's worst ranked countries for press freedom and has historically used its media to target Sikhs, Muslims, Dalits, Christians, and other minorities. Any resistance from our end gets termed as
"extremism" โ a tactic used by authoritarian states globally. In light of this past week, the unchecked claims the Indian government has historically presented to the world for years should now be re-examined.
For decades, global human rights organizations have spoken out about the brutality the Indian government has inflicted upon Punjab (the majority Sikh state): from genocides to extrajudicial murders to false flag attacks. In Punjab, human rights workers who've brought evidence to the world about these atrocities have been murdered. There is a long list of suspicious Sikh murders on North American and European soil.
People have a right to self-determination. To dream of sovereignty in the midst of repression does not make anyone a terrorist. Being a member of the Sikh community is at the core of who I am. Sikh principles have guided my art, poetry, and political activism.
The Canadian government must do everything in its power to bring the Indian government to justice.
Assassinations do not scare us. We will only get louder. Regardless of the consequences, we will continue to fight for our right to exist freely. We will continue to stand with those facing injusticeโ

Moreover, we are re-socialised in tiny campuses of 500-600 students all learning the same thing. This leads to law students (and lawyers) being the most arrogant, argumentative, critical and cynical people you will ever meet. This pushes people away from us, making us lonely and full of self-hatred. And it's a vicious cycle from then on.

Bangalore is a remarkably cosmopolitan city- we sent a Mizo to Parliament, our CM was a Rajput, many of our MPs and MLAs are Telugu, and you can manage perfectly well in the city if you only speak Tamil. Many of Bangalore's top businessmen are Punjabis and Sindhis, and there are pockets where Gujarati is the lingua franca. Rajasthan Patrika has a print edition in Bangalore, for God's sake!
Bangalore has an exceptional street food culture- what do you think Darshinis are? Only Lucknow and Kolkata have food that is this cheap and this good.
"Unwelcoming People" is a matter of perspective. I don't want to negate your experience, but I easily know 20 or 30 people personally who have said that Bangalore is an immensely welcoming city. To each their own, I suppose.
Public transportation is not... bad. Try taking buses. I do that for last mile connectivity sometimes. They are clean, not crowded, and take you from place A to B. Uber and Ola are generally functional. I agree that the infrastructure and traffic can do with lots of improvement, but it is happening.
Let's get to why we love Bangalore:
1. It's a cosmopolitan melting pot. From Bohra Muslims to Mangalorean Christians to Sikhs, all of them have come here, thrived, and made this their home. Go to Palace Orchards or Defence Colony or any other old Bangalore haunt, and you'll see the diversity of Bangalore.
2. HUGE literary scene. Bookstores, book launches, quizzes, talks. All of which are accessible to all, and very welcoming.
3. Great cultural scene. Movies in 6 languages are regularly shown. There are free or cheap concerts and shows, from Rock to Carnatic, from Raza to Kathakali. The museum scene is also good. MAP. NGMA, IME, and others. Look up Putting Scene for a list.
4. Sports. There are public spaces and avenues for you to easily play several sports, even if you don't know a soul in the city. Cricket, football, running, golf, basketball, swimming- pick a sport, and you'll be able to play it.
5. Green. I love Basavangudi. I love Cubbon Park. I love Richards Town. This is a city of trees.
6. Food. Grasshopper. KC Das. Khmer Kitchen. Thom's Cafe. Koshys Plum Cake. There are many food secrets that you can take years to discover.
7. Drink. The beer and wine stories are well known. Gin and whiskey lovers are equally well served. There are wine and whiskey clubs that you can join, and that hold regular events.
I can go on, but .. Bangalore is an emotion. You don't like it, that's fine. Some of us wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Honestly labeling any firm generally as Tier 1/2/3 may not be ideal since nither growth nor decline is linear. A law firm with sound TMT practice may go south if for any reason half of the partners mid year decide to move to another firm. Similarly, a good PR team may help place a law firm on enviable position despite basic organisational issues.
Just gathering info ahead of internship apps and stuff and trying to compare with disputes exclusive firms like keystone. Specifically looking for:
- pay
- work hours and culture
- quality and volume of work
- scope to go independent in few years
I've seen quite a few seniors go to cam disputes but don't have much info. Thanks
Gen X = born between 1965 and 1980
Gen Y aka millennials = born between 1981 and 1996
Gen Z = born after 1996
I'm excluding Gen X from the discussion as NLSIU was the only NLU for Gen X-ers and I doubt if any Gen X-ers even visit LI. My question is for Gen Y aka millennials. I think a decent share of Gen Y readers do visit LI (maybe 25% Gen Y readers vs 75% Gen Z readers). Gen X is basically our parents generation, while Gen Y is like the generation of some of our older cousins. So how was college life for y'all? My guess is that the similarities and dissimilarities would be:
Similarities: Competition during moots, pressure to do well in placements, desire to work for tier 1 firms like CAM, complaints against admin, bad mess food, copy-pasting during projects etc.
Dissimilarities: Fewer students appearing for judicial services and UPSC compared with today, narrower career choices compared with today, more ragging compared with today, lack of sensitivity for LGBTQ+ students compared with today, no Tinder and boring dating life similar to our parents, etc. Also, no Netflix, no social media etc, so perhaps low awareness about other countries and cultures for that reason.
Of course, Gen Y will not be homogenous as someone born in 1981 and 1996 will be very different. So maybe you can specify if you are 80s born or 90s born as well.

There too much competition after pandemic in RJS, UPCJ etc.

All of this is common knowledge amongst all students in the University but they are afraid to call their batchmates and/or seniors out publically due to the fear of retailiation from these 'influential' folks. It is high time we put a stop to this.
Rest is up to you (You need to show courage today or tomorrow could be worse)
I will stand with you no matter what
If you have any fear of getting exposed or don't want to come out the best way is to fill out the online ragging form.

This is whats happened. NLS hires 6 "visiting assistant profs" a year - and claims these are ad hoc faculty- which is what they are. But they dont list all the faculty they hire to teach electives every term as non regularised faculty.
My sense is that NLUD does not have 80 full time ad hoc professors- that would literally be insane. They must be listing everyone who offered an elective course in there.
(a) to authorize:
(i) any mortgagee other than a mortgagee by conditional sale or a mortgagee under an anomalous mortgage by the terms of which he is entitled to foreclose, to institute a suit for foreclosure, or
(ii) a usufructuary mortgagee as such or a mortgagee by conditional sale as such to institute a suit for sale; ".
Here you go. The other than only qualifies the right to foreclose.
I have seen these people receive salary money in their accounts. I have had drinks with them because I am their colleague- and they have told me what work they did and how much they got paid, they have discussed their pay with me when they got hired. Ad hoc folks hired this academic year get 1.15. I have literally no intention arguing with a student trying to prove that I actually teach in this place- because I do. AT did not have teaching or research experience before he joined there. He was fresh out of the LLM. And given he was part time at best- he really did get overpaid. Which- I'm fine with. Neither of the none of the people I'm talking about got absorbed in an open contest and none of them were qualified to become associate professors. You just dont know anything. I made a very simple claim at the beginning of all this- that NLS pays comparable salaries to jgls, and that it pays more than other NLUs, you have now admitted that that is possible. You started out claiming it was impossible. thats literally the point. If the same exact guy is getting the same salary at NLS and JGLS- thats the whole argument I'm making. I didn't say shit about base pay, ta, ra, HRA none of that. I said- in hand they get the same thing. Please go ask your professors if thats not true. I'm absolutely done with this nonsensical conversation.
I'm not naming people specifically because youll be able to figure out exactly who I am based on who my friends are- If youre on campus- youve seen us hanging out. That is literally the only reason. If you were even on campus youd know who all I'm talking about just from the time I said they joined and the experience I said they have. I have no wish to doxx myself on the internet because youre confused about how rules are implemented and what a university can do to hire people. Ive known colleagues who came from nalsar to nls and nalsar to jgls- those two guys get paid about the same both of them. and both of them got a pay bump leaving nalsar. go ask them dude.
But the fact that some areas of Bangalore are dominated by outsiders shows that the city is largely welcoming
Most individual experiences of outsiders with the people of Bangalore are with auto/cab drivers who are a nuisance. They don't represent the larger population which is largely fine
Corporate lawyers make good money and find matches fairly easily.
Airport buses are finally becoming popular even among immigrants. I have been using buses since I was 13 years old and they're safe, cheap, and have great connectivity
With introduction of Namma BMTC app, tracking buses and planning your travel has also become very easy
@ other GNLU people reading this, circulate this post around and ensure that it isn't swept under the rug especially in the light of other similar events that have recently happened. Harassment of this kind needs to be exposed and held accountable, it is our responsibility as students to ensure this. This university and its entire community has been such a disappointment. Only way to fix what's wrong is by publicizing everything that's wrong and has been given a pass. As stakeholders we need to ensure that it's a safe place for all.
Why is there so much hype about being a transgender? or for that matter, "identifying" as someone? isn't this intrinsically wrong.
I empathise with those transgenders and pray to them like god, those who are born like this, but the others getting surgery and changing themselves into something they re biologically not? for clout? to be different? and imposing it on others?
How can you identify as something you are biologically not? if you are born with specific choromosoms and want to just dress up and become someone else? Isn't that like a "disease", falling under the definition of "symptoms" of disease, because you kind of hate your body. that's body dysmorphia. That's like saying that I hate my heart, so I am gonna change it with another heart?
ALSO, WHY ARE YOU IMPOSING IT ON OTHERS FACES. It's you who needs medication, proper parenting and therapy. Please stop teaching young children that.
Thanking you
What do you even mean by this lmao
In addition, every new faculty must be made to go through at least a few demo classes before students as well as existing faculty before they are allowed to teach unsupervised in the degree programmes. That would at least act as a filter for the worst sort, who cannot even communicate effectively or do not have the slightest of ideas about the subjects that they would be asked to teach. A mentorship system should also be in place wherein the faculty with better repute can be shadowed by the junior for at least a semester or two when it comes to classroom teaching or research. Professor Menon himself used to advocate for such a system, but that is barely in vogue anymore.
Finally, the students also need to get their acts together if they wish to be taught by good faculty. Academic discipline must be followed, especially if they see the faculty making effort to teach them well. Refraining from umpteen excuses for not doing assignments, seeking extensions and exemptions, easy grades, lack of advance reading, and providing useful and timely feedback and putting pressure on the administration to act on the basis of such feedback, these are practices that the students may also consider adopting if they really wish to have the quality of their classroom education enhanced. Just because a faculty is not giving in to every student demand, that does not mean that they do not know what the students actually need. Adherence to quality and empathy are both essential traits of a good teacher.
Hahaha
The sobering thought here is that not everyone here has a daddy in the profession even if they come from a privileged bg. Also what I have personally come to believe over my law school is that the cake is big enough. No matter how much one hoards, the cake is sufficiently big to feed most. Its just that some get there sooner than later.
Also whoever put that reply up there, not sure how disclosing the name of any firm with preferable work-life (or in my case one that supports the commitments I have towards my family) would help state-unis. I did most of what @NLU grad had mentioned in the previous thread and even then I consider myself lucky to have witnessed things work out.
Can't give out the name of the firm because I would dox myself. Its a very small team. But for starters, its based out Delhi NCR, has an ex-Khaitan as the partner, is a boutique firm and started a couple of months ago. Cheers!
Choose violence. Ruin lives. Be gay. Do crimes.
Tick tock
Unwelcoming people are everywhere, South Indians are unwelcome in the north and guess you would find it unwelcoming in the south. The way people look down at you if you mispronounce a Hindi word in the north (I would know, studied in the north) is ridiculous when they don't even bother learning South Indian languages
For those who may not be able to access the post later: http://archive.today/FBPGI
The data shows that NLU Delhi far surpasses the other NLUs (including NLS) by a margin so large that the other figures are laughable. Important to note is that there will be a presumption that those who did not submit NIRF data did not have much to show (as is mentioned in the article as well).
The section says, Nothing in this section shall be deemed to authorize any mortgagee OTHER THAN.
