Pay = HSA
Micromanagement = NDA
No growth = CAM
Heard some of them are already crumbling.
I feel that professors should be teaching the writings of Friedman, Nozick, Rand and originalists, and encourage respectful debates, as long it doesn't get outright phony by bringing in modern-day grifters like Shapiro, Peterson etc.
Most Indian politicians are socialistic when it comes to the economy, including BJP and its parent organization RSS. Similarly, none of them are really progressive on social issues. Apart from a select few disputes like cow slaughter, UCC, CAA etc, they are virtually the clones of one another.
2. SAM- Pathetic pay and toxic
3. JSA - Worst pay and growth.
4. AZB- All of the above with lot of work
5. Trilegal- No work life balance.
6. Luthra- Bad pay, no growth and no work.
7. KCO- Toxic and micromanagement.
In US there is the federalist society for conservative lawyers that provides excellent career opportunity in politics, judiciary even SC appointment based on being part of the conservative intellectual ecosystem.

Outstanding as per Asialaw Profiles
Vivek Ramaswamy: JD, YaleTed Cruz: JD, Harvard
Mike Pompeo: JD Harvard
Many, many more.
Now, let's look at NLSIU alumni:
In legal practice:
Menaka Guruswamy: Leans left and has repeatedly criticised Modi in articles.
Aditya Sondhi: Served as AG in a Congress government and criticised Modi govt for CAA
Dayan Krishnan: Represents Congress and AAP scam accused, has criticised Modi.
In politics:
Brijesh Kalappa: Congress, now AAP
Nayanna Motamma: Recently elected as an MLA in Karnataka on a Congress ticket
In academia:
Tarunabh Khaitan: Leans left
Prabha Kotiswaran: Very left
Aparna Chandra: Very left
Lawrence Liang and others at ALF: Very left
Gautam Bhatia: Very left
Certainly, there is the case of Vikramjit Banerjee, but that's a rare exception.
So the obvious question is this: Harvard and Ivies may be majority liberal, but have a decent share of conservatives as well. NLSIU has modelled itself as a Harvard of the East, but why has the political diversity of Harvard not been replicated? I think it's legitimate to ask this. Recently Ashoka came under criticism from its own founders for being a left-wing echo chamber. NLSIU too must answer to this criticism. It's worrying if the #1 law school is churning out only left-liberals. It may point to structural problems with the curriculum and faculty. Are professors teaching the writings of Friedman, Bhagwati, RC Majumdar, Palkhivala, Kirk, Buckley, Clarence Thomas and Scalia? Or only Marx, Sen, Krishna Iyer, Althusser, Foucault, Romila Thapar and Bipan Chandra? It's notable that one former NLSIU VC, Mohan Gopal, is an actual member of the Congress inner circle and has been an advisor to Rahul Gandhi.

You might blame policy or make unsubstantiated attacks about political recruitments or alumni quota.
But there is no such thing, university has no discretion in LLM admissions but every year 15-20/23 people in the batch are alumni.
Those who graduate from rml, love it's laid back curriculum and the opportunity it provides them to pursue and prepare for careers in Judiciary or Civil services. So, they obviously put it as their 1st choice and because their competition is from state colleges and low ranking private universities they usually are the better candidate. (It would be different if alumni from NLS/NALSAR/NUJS/NLUD applied for it and were rejected over an RML alumni, but it's not the case.)
You might say there is no going up, but it's fine as it is, rml is never going to become NLS, but it's fine as it is, there can be improvements for sure and there should be but the fact is those who wanna go corporate- get a chance, those who wanna try judiciary- get a chance, same for PSUs, acadmeia and UPSC.
It's not the best, but you're just taking out your frustrations on not getting selected by blaming ji-huzoori and politics and what not.
All the best.
Had you hired a similar CG based lawyer, your costs would have been less than half.
There is drastic difference in Delhi and Chennai rates.

In today's scenario, most have a BA-LLB degree, hence if you ask the question they'll obviously show preference towards the same. BBA-LLB is a relatively new degree. But before deciding, think about 20-30-40 years in future. The fact that today there are a lot more universities offering the BBA-LLB degree should tell you something about the emerging trend and the growth trajectory.
2. Work Culture: Ramanand Mundkur's stellar reputation is a testament to his legal acumen and work ethic. Having interacted with him and his team I can tell you that he is an outstanding lawyer and gentleman, and associates from his firm exude positivity, suggesting a supportive and nurturing environment.
3. Pay: While specific details aren't available, it's possible that compensation aligns with tier-2 firms in Bengaluru. However, the chance to learn in a growth-centric environment can be an invaluable asset, potentially outweighing monetary considerations.
4. Growth Aspects: While Mundkur Law Partners offers significant learning opportunities, individual growth paths might eventually lead associates to seek new challenges. The experience gained at this firm can be pivotal for future endeavors. In other words, you will need to jump when you find your growth stagnate.
5. Internship and PPO Policies: Directly reaching out to the firm would provide the most accurate insights into their internship and PPO policies.
6.
In summary, working under the guidance of Ramanand Mundkur presents a rare opportunity for substantial professional growth.
You're holding wrong people responsible, what power does someone like Kavita or Arundhati hold?
West doesn't care about non whites.
And it's obvious you don't hold any respect for the people you mentioned, so why do you even care?
2. What you did to Vijay Sondhis family will never be forgiven. Karma will make u pay every penny back in triple measure.
3. Vijay Bhai Amar rahe.
1. Pay; 2.Toxicity; 3.Growth; 4.No work; 5.Micromanagement
Example - In a 4.0 CGPA system, hygiene CGPA will be 3.5 & Above.
After the split, a significant number of rainmakers moved with MS to SnP. While SnP is not killing it, they are doing fairly well.
On the other hand, consumed by greed, HSC and SS tried to pull off an MS and went to DSK with 60 "loyalists" who made the mistake of trusting them. When the time came to put money where their mouth was, they backed out, and the experiment failed. HSC and SS are now pariah for T1 / T2 law firms. In the process, not only did they finish themselves, but they also finished the careers of most people who made the move with them.
The result is clear - when the time came to put money where the mouth is - only MS could pull it off. All other equity partners of erstwhile LnL Partners are either deceased or deceased professionally. MS is the last man standing.
I am a first year student and the author of the earlier mentioned post on LegallyIndia which had made an anonymous complaint against 5th years for ragging (https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/285344-i-am-bullied-in-gnlu). After this post, another batchmate of mine who was also a victim to this group of bullies who ragged us made a formal complaint. Ever since then, he has been reprimanded by multiple members of the committee of which the accused is the convenor. To an extent, he has been intimidated by his seniors to withdraw his complaint. On not doing so, โฎโฎโฎ (common knowledge to all on campus) has filed an official complaint of slut shaming against the 1st year who complained against the prime accused. This is to intimidate and threaten the 1st year complainant.
Further, I am also a witness to different treatment meted out to 5th years who are accused formally on similar nature complaints. One of the 5th years against whom my batchmates had raised a formal complaint was immediately suspended from hostel but as of date when two days have passed since my batchmate formally complained against three 5th years, this case has been completely been subdue on all levels. The accused while on formal complaint are on campus and continue to hold positions of responsibility with no check by the administration. This shall completely undermine the formal adjudication process of the complaint of ragging.
I am also told by my batchmates that after this complaint against the prime accused was put forth by my batchmate, the prime accused along with โฎโฎโฎ
I am also a victim who was meted out with bullying and ragging by the same set of seniors and given how my batchmate has been treated, I do not feel safe putting my formal complaint against the said group due to how another victim who came out has been treated by the administration.
As an outcome, and on the basis of the order of the Hon'ble Gujarat High Court, I demand:
1. Immediate suspension of all accused whose names have been mentioned in the complaint put forth by my batchmate on similar and equal lines of the accused in the ragging complaint made prior to this.
2. All seniors against whom formal complaint is raised to vacate their positions of responsibility until the ICC/Disciplinary committee finds them not guilty
3. A separate grievance redressal mechanism wherein the current faculty convenor of the committee which is headed by the prime accused has no role to play. I demand full confidentiality such that only a separate faculty member over whom the prime accused has no influence and the registrar are aware about my details and no other person to know of it.
4. ensure protection of identify of all victims who have come forward to complain regarding ragging/sexual harassment/etc
I am choosing to present this letter on this platform in order to remain anonymous so that I am not targetted like my batchmate who chose to raise the voice.
Kindly now that if no action is taken on this letter by 29th September, 2023 I shall be bound to put this complaint along with my name and all names of the accused before the Hon'ble Chief Justice, Gujarat High Court along with the Chancellor of GNLU. I am grateful for the support of Legally India for giving me this platform and some alumni of GNLU for their pro bono legal assistance in this.
Regards,
A 1st-year student who is a victim of ragging and institutional coverup of the same.
A copy of this letter has been forwarded to the National Ragging Helpline through my advocate.
1. Sincerity and dedication towards work.
2. Willingness to learn.
3. 1 and 2 everyday.
While colleges, publications, moots help you get a foot in the door - that's where it stops mattering. Of course that's not to say you don't benefit from it at the job too- but whether you have done it or not doesn't matter from that point on.
Please don't care about these if you are good at your work. Most of the best hires I've heard ppl make come from backgrounds which prompted them to be hungry - whether rich/ poor, whether NLU/ non-NLU, whether mooted/ debated or not.
Cheers
Very competitive.
Do grades, internships, competitions, publications, committees and network have equivalent importance?
Where is Sean Penn?
Where is Justin Trudeau?
Where are Noam Chomsky, Arundhati Roy etc?
Where is Kavita Krishnan?
Where is the pro-Ukraine human rights gang?
Where is the pro-Palestine human rights gang?
What utter hypocrisy!
- Drafting of Suit & all Supporting Applications a/w said suit: INR 2 lakhs
- INR 75K per outstation appearance
- Out-pocket expenses extra
- Conferences/ teleconferences are included in the costs above
Are Delhi lawyers with roughly 15 years this expensive?
Would it be more cost efficient going to a law firm instead? To his credit and our advantage, this lawyer has front ended all the costs so far, and we have just been stumped with his invoice - post his securing the injunction we wanted. I tried reasoning with him and he insists that the invoicing is fair/ competitive - relative to the prevailing market rates in New Delhi.
Please could anyone throw some light on what has gone down here?
And lol itโs even better than all the other UK unis including Cambridge lmao. Clat is difficult (till nalsar) but getting into NUS is like a chefโs kiss!
Having gone through this - I can tell you this is to see what you know and don't. This isn't the assessment as such. It's self- assessment of your abilities.
Rather than being cheezed off by everything which may not be relevant in the large scheme of things and writing this post- you could have figured out a couple of those "no" to yes.
Lol
While the globe might despise the (in)famous traffic of Bangalore, the countless hours I've spent stranded in my car with my family have illuminated our lives with lost sparks of happiness, a much-needed respite from my routine life as a bail-procuring attorney for the quick-fingered pocketmaars of Church Street. This standstill in time and space amidst traffic chaos has allowed me to reacquaint with long-lost friends from a nearly forgotten childhood and diligently reply to the โGood morningโ messages from Fufas and Mamas in our extended family WhatsApp group. Gone are the days of โtalk to ya laterโ; Iโve evolved into a person who cherishes family values and engages in hearty digital exchanges, all thanks to the times when the clock ticks but the wheels donโt roll.
The relentless and exhaustive negotiations with our cherished auto drivers not only sparked my ardor for judicial combat within the venerable confines of the Mayo Hall Court Complex but also reshaped my character. Nowadays, I greet every ignored reminder for my fees by my clients with a serene smile and open arms.
Certainly, as a sentient being, I harbor my fair share of despair, occasionally skirting the fringes of despondency, but fear not, for there is solace in Bobโs Bar. Whether you're a young professional or a seasoned local in this metropolis of enthusiastic runners, if you can secure even a sliver of space in this sought-after refuge, you'll find the place brimming with divine libations and tantalizing spicy pork fry, proffering yet another reason to relish existence.
In its sprawling expanse, Bangalore has graciously offered me the essentials: the quintessential 'Roti', the occasional 'Kapda', and a deeply mortgaged 'Makaan'. To my cherished city, my anchor and museโmay we remain inseparable, at least until the final traffic light turns green.
The recent visit and the new VC will help with NLUJ's perception.

I was referring to the UG tutorials not BCL seminars.
This brings the question - will nlu Delhi face competition from du 5 year llb grads now? Will it be overshadowed? Letโs be honest nlu Delhi is an amazing college but its location had a huge advantage to play. Now that DU has its 5 year course under clat (which again brings the clat vs ailet thingy in place) , what will be the fate of NLU Delhi which has a good monopoly over Delhi law firms? I really intend this debate to be genuine.
Yes, the person in question, faffs a lot, I disagree with him on a lot of issues but he is surely not a sexual harasser. This much, I know. I am also a female from the 2nd year and have taken help from him for projects. He had helped me with projects when I was really struggling and my project guide or other seniors were not helping me. I have never felt uncomfortable for a second with him.
We can never trust anonymous call-out posts with zero evidence against them. I know that whoever has posted the message, has posted it because there are rumors about him running for SBA President's election this year and the rival faction is trying their best to defame him.
I agree that the South might not be 100% welcoming but each action there is merely a reaction to racist and exclusionary

My 65 year old mother who only knows Hindi and can barely use a smartphone has bought a book that teaches you Kannada using Hindi. Two degrees and you still can't find resources to learn Kannada is surprising.
Any leads on vacancies from reputed Sr. Counsels or mid-tier law firms handling civil/criminal litigation would be much appreciated!
Also, in light of recent DSK exits, does it make sense to apply there?
Conductors are so busy that they don't give a hoot about what language you know or don't know. It's clear that you have never used buses and interacted only with auto and cab drivers who are condescending about language
The only thing conductors care about is not calling them bhaiya. Call them sir or Anna and they're sweet. It's just like Punjabis who hate being called bhaiya because they associate that with Bihar/UP.
FYI - some conductors are rude irrespective of language because their job is just frustrating. A video popped of a conductor abusing an elderly man speaking Kannada so don't blame it on language
Also, what's the PPO scenario?
Please guide. Thanks.
Reminds me of my college girls who used to bake brownies from their home, create an insta page with their friends only buying some packages and thinking of themselves as some sort of financial wizard. Its hilarious how people don't have any idea of generational wealth and it's privilege. Agreed not anybody's fault where they are born, but atleast acknowledge it. Hate when kids of IAS call themselves middle class.
Anyway, HOB was bound to fall. The founder had gotten too ambitious and it had almost become a propaganda show with some guest appearances.
I have heard from a BCL alum that almost everybody interested in his cohort was successful in landing a TC or Pupilage. Could you shed some light on the truth of this statement?
