Its a busy team, they have a lot of small and mid sized mandates and carry decent market value as an advisor for ECM transactions (they do not do debt work). As mentioned in other threads, they are the only small sized practice alongside Rajani, SNG and Kanga which do quality ECM work. Its a good place to start and get a firm grasp on the nature of work post which you can shift to a bigger firm. Best of luck!

I find recruiters to be so unhelpful. They're also so...snake-y in my experience. They give 0 shits about what you are looking for, and rather propose random teams at even more random firms just because the firm is looking to hire. This month a recruiter tried to sell an "investigations" practice as the "next big thing". Same guy tried to convince me to move to TMT last year because that was apparently the next big thing.

However, I don't think getting a certificate is going to help in this situation. Since you got no work experience from this internship, it is kind of futile to even put it in your CV, So, I don't think it's worth taking the certificate as well. Moreover, I don't think the firm will even have something to write in that certificate.

But if your goal is to only take the certificate to submit it to college, then sure ask the HR to give you a certificate by clearly stating that purpose in the email you send.

Honestly it depends on how you evaluate the firm, specifically the partner. We've all heard of stories from THE team at Trilegal. Also many AZB teams are doing well, many aren't.

I think some of it also is age-related; I see a difference in views between people who are older and have seen more of the world, versus younger and more (in their minds) 'radical' (and if you want to use the term, 'woke') leftists. Try and meet a few older people - find reading groups in your city or even online - and you will probably find more welcoming spaces. Keep it above 4 no matter what. Marks are extremely arbitrary; inter-class disparity because of professors who mark liberally versus strictly (see property law for batch of '27) makes things even worse. Some classes get fuckall professors who mark really well, while others get strict profs- it's all luck. "Moderation" isn't real and everyone gets almost the same grade- the difference between all grades is literally five marks.

I admit that I took a few woke courses to improve my grades for placements, instead of difficult courses like advanced taxation, biotech law, trade law etc. For example, I took a course on Women and Law where you had to name any 10 rights of women under the CEDAW or General recommendations: for 1 mark each. So easy!

I agree. Not all students are so lazy and insincere. In the video itself, you can see a serious student in the sweatshirt and wearing glasses (he is a CLAT topper, in fact). The student is clearly trying to concentrate, but is being disturbed/bullied by one of the non-serious students.

However, there does need to be disciplinary action against the non-serious students. Sleeping, watching movies etc should mean deduction of attendance plus a warning. A repeat of the offence should attract different types of penalties. These can be punitive (suspension, ban from internships etc) to reformative (like volunteer work during college activities or helping campus workers).

Colleges which lobby, indirectly or directly, should be blacklisted by Rhodes. We also need greater transparency and objectivity in the process. A part of the selection process can be an MCQ to test legal knowledge. Also, there can be a fixed points system for publications in certain journals, or wins in certain moots, or wins in national-level sports competitions.
