Should have been more clear.

He's not a designated senior, he's a regular advocate. The year I joined his chamber was a really bumper year for him financially, he made double what I mentioned.
Pradeep Sancheti and Mr. Dhond charge about 1.5 Lakh, as does Biren Saraf. Dhakephalkar, Dr. Sathe charge upwards of Rs. 3 Lakhs.
Wait, could u explain "8-10 crores"? Do u mean his net income for the year? And if possible could you share his age/years of experience?
Hello can u please tell in which law firm you are working currently I'm a fresh advocate.
Do you get opportunities being in a chamber where there already the son of the senior is practising?
85 percent of litigation lawyers start off with less than 15k a month, with some being paid sub 5k for a month. With about 4 years pqe, it can reach a maximum of 35k.
Any idea about Delhi?

I remember someone saying that some young seniors like Mr Rajshekhar can pay much more?

Any info whatsoever is appreciated
Yeah, Mr Rajshekhar Rao, Senior Advocate was paying zero-exp. freshers Rupees 30,000 in 2018 itself.
If it’s not too much to ask

Is this generally the norm in Delhi?

If not, what other seniors would normally pay this much/more?

And how this figure would go up over the years in Mr. Raos chambers?

Thank you!!
Can you throw some light on how much a young recently independent advocate in Delhi can generally charge his clients?
How much do you end up making in a year? And how do you get clients?
Please start you stand up. Lol! Why you ended up being litigator.
When life is a joke, (for most litigants) everything ends up being funny. Great one !
Sorry to bother you

But I had another thing to add to OP

How much capital/savings do you think is needed to go independent in Delhi?

And how long is the general incubation period?

Thaaanks so much
If possible, wouldd be nice to know these answers by OP
Good thread for young litigation aspirant
Way to go guys
Everyone is saying that they draw a salary and then they also take their own clients, but what amount does a new lawyer charge to a client? Anyone who can provide numbers? e.g. per appearance, per client total, I get it that it varies but there must a range for a new grad?
Kaun hai ye mahaprush?

Abhi ke naye ASG to 25k bhi ro roke dete hai
What if during this faith having stage some emergency comes up (health, family, accident, etc.)? Would knowledge, craft and confidence pay the bills?
Litigators ko Inhi logon se satark rehna hai jo 'craft aur knowledge' ka dhong rachke juniors ko thagg lete hai aur unhe exploit karte hai.
You get my point?
How much do these people pay? Especially interested to know salary of juniors under Shri and Arshdeep.
Please share names of your last 2 seniors. Willing to join them
Arshdeep pays about 50K to juniors with 2-3 years PQE and bonus depends on your performance.
Is there any way I can contact you over email.?
Get an internship and prove your worth. Then applye after graduation.
Can you please provide details and location of your senior, thank you :)

My college senior from Jindal told me Kartik Nayar's chamber paid her 50k in her first year in disputes.
2018 Batch.
Practicing under SC lawyer - 20k salary.
working hours - 11 hours a day.

Exploitation at its best !!!
So why is working for corporate firms always called mazdoori?
Can anyone suggest high paying seniors practising in Madras High Court
Delhi , Chandigarh , U P , R J , system is rotten too.

Just few seniors in every HC who pay well. Forget payment in district courts !
Severely underpaid when the Boss is making big bucks. Also, salary is never credited without having to ask 5 times. :)
Same story just the difference that I am not in Delhi
Did you manage to get your own matters? And what are you doing these days?

Currently practising here at Allahabad hc, lucknow bench. My senior pays me nothing. Luckily, my mom is also a lawyer and she pays me 5000 per matter. And she gives me small cases. Still it's breathtaking to survive.
Bro I'll starve there. I have friends who make 20k per month under aors.
Bad idea at this stage. Not having to pay rent is a HUGE advantage in the early years of litigation. That's why it's best to start in your home city.
Yeah, but it's bad since it's a Tier 2 city and lawyers don't get paid like they do at Delhi/Mumbai. Where are you practising btw?

Can you suggest names who are willing to pay 40-50k and above to freshers
There are very few people who pay that much but yes, people ARE there. Ritin Rai is an incredible paymaster. As is Neeraj K Kaul, Salman Khurshid, Kapil Sibal. But entry is very difficult.
This comment is misleading. The average pay in the SC and HC is around β‚Ή20–25k. There are a few (very few) senior counsels who pay more than this. However, these chambers are mostly legacy-based, and it’s difficult to break into them.
I am getting 9K right still after doing "GadhaMajduri"
I worked in June 2013 in Delhi under Mrs. Monika Arora Mam. I was paid Rs. 15,000/- for 1 month. Monday to Saturday. 10 am to 7 pm.
I am working in Bangalore and my senior paid me 15k when I joined and he now pays me 20k. However the timings are from 10 am to 10:30 pm including Saturdays. My friends make 15k where the timings are 9:30 am to 9:30 pm.
