CS are just register keepers.
Me both CA and T2 NLU.
Currently interning with a T-1 disputes team in Delhi. I have noticed that pretty much 9 times out of 10, the partners are briefing senior counsel to appear and argue. The equity partner too does the same and so do the partners under him.
How are they okay to almost never be arguing and always be briefing? Is this professionally satisfying?
Thanks!
2. My point is one delayed start to an internship cycle cannot be determinative of corp placements just yet. Maybe youβre right but itβs a little early to say that.
3. My comment had more to do with the weird willingness of people to be derisive and write off this program for seemingly no rhyme or reason. Making evaluations, especially on student quality, without enough data except what individuals may have anecdotally (which is also what my own post is about tbh) shouldnβt determine someoneβs choice to join the college.
Additionally, please identify 3 Year programs wherein corp placements are bountiful anyway? I donβt think DU or GLC is placing a significant number of their batch in firms either, especially vis a vis their massive intakes. Itβs a toss-up pretty much anywhere but here, at least some of the things NLS gets right you have access to.
Also no. A lot of the government or other vac colleges (unless they charge exorbitant fees) witnesses its students go to litigation instead of corporate.
So yeah, with a father who passed away when I was a child and someone who got everything handed over to me on a platter from 'swarg', best wishes for your 'hard work on your own right'.
Associate - 4 to 9 LPA
SA - 10 - 16
Plus there is no bonus. I think Finsec pays 16.2 to A0.
2022 batch - yes we're hiring freshers
2023 - sorry we need someone with 2-4 years of experience
Just me or anyone else too????
Hope you make an informed decision.
Started with 20k now making 35k + small money from own matters.
It's a cruel professional, some days are good, some are bad but thrill/ upcoming money is all what keeps me going.
Buying a house (especially in Mumbai) is a not the most financially wise decision one can make, if seen purely from a finance perspective. A simple back of the envelope calculation will show you that renting is far cheaper than buying. However, a lot of people still buy for reasons such as securing an asset for the family, a steady place to live and the mindset of having ones own home.
Also, some partners buy and some rent.
1) they did not perform well in moots. Only 2 students from the 2nd year LLB and none from the 1st Year LLB made it to top 50 in the univ moot rankings. In contrast, about 20 students in the top 50 were from the 2nd year BALLB course. This is even after the moot problem was significantly easier than what it used to be and even had publicly available memos on the same problem.
2) The comment above had highlighted the same thing that you will recieve quality legal education but Corp placements would be difficult to secure!
3) We don't consider them as a threat in any way. OP had clearly mentioned that he wants a job out of law school which is very difficult from the LLB program. Personally, I don't think one should pay 12LPA for a legal degree when the chances of securing a job are very less. I would rather go to DU/GLC and get the degree with a much lower cost!
Ps: serious answers only.
Work has been challenging, satisfying and rewarding. I did try my hand at core civil litigation and commercial litigation but didn't find it comfortable there since they are slow, there's too much cut throat competition and undercutting of fees, and too factually heavy which results in more time requirement per matter.
I aim to streamline my work into a four day workweek pattern while maximizing economic returns. The tax advisory practice must be grown but I have been occupied with other things personally to be interested in business development this year. I'm happy.
There's uncertainty and anxiety about what may happen three months down the line but that's something every legal professional undergoes. The nagging worry doesn't vanish - we merely get better at ignoring it.
ALL THE BEST TRY YOUR LUCK AT LKS .
TBH Being from Tier 2 city and Tier 2 Private College its my dream Firm . I would love to do Internship as well as Paralegal But still I am not getting chance . So I would strongly suggest to go for it . If I would have been at your place . I would have definitely grab this deal or offer
On one hand, I want a PPO from a boutique like Veritas, but I'm not sure if I should do it at the cost of a T1 job, ig you have the same dilemma.
Now, as far as real-life accuracy is concerned, and this is speaking from my extensive experience of almost using it daily - it gives you a very solid base for any topic. And if you continue asking it in a structured manner it will respond with sources and even take quotes from govt. PDFs. Structuring example - "Tell me everything about crimes against women in India. Give me an introduction, issues involved, reasons, 3-5 important statistics, reports and their findings, way forward, successful interventions by state & central govt and global interventions and some experimental innovative ways which can help in reducing the crimes, also show 3-5 research papers and their findings into and give a conclusion & some good quotes which I can put in my answer."
However, sometimes it hallucinates. Meaning, it will just lie or give incorrect information. So, be a bit cautious.

Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones : I'll be cool with it and even invite you to a beer after work.
Bieber, Taylor, Sheeran, KPop and other Gen Z nonsense: I'll throw you out of office.
People in Gen. Corp., PE,VC, M&A practice are preferred to answer.
If you want to be constructive, just watch and figure out what he needs. Anything he can use to talk more to women, he apparently uses like an incel but maybe there are tasks that he doesn't want to hand to them. That's you're in. Friendly helpful dude. Also make friends with the women. Be supportive and help them out. May be they will suggest including you. I used to do that for the guys who helped me or were my friends.
Can someone please talk about the CV value of this? Will this help me get better internships? I'm in 3rd year now
This journey is very very tiring and lonely. Especially if you are living alone. But seems light is just there at the end of the tunnel.
Looking forward to reading experiences of other litigators.
Top two institutes expected to be market leaders in 2029/2030 are NLS Bangalore and Jindal Global Law School which might break into top 50 in the world and have strong alumni presence internationally.
NALSAR, NLU Delhi, GNLU, NUJS will be the next.
Delhi University, GLC Mumbai and Symbiosis Pune alongwith NLU Jodhpur, NLIU Bhopal should be next.
IIULER Goa & BITS Law School Mumbai expected to find some ground by 2030.
Mediocre NLUs and sub standard private law colleges may not get enough students and many law colleges will face closure in same way BTech colleges
There are enough threads on culture of Regstreet and its partner. There is a reason they have such a high attrition rate.

Central University established since 1920s with average annual enrolment of > 50,000 vs a NLU established in late 1980s with average annual enrolment of <100 is pari passu
Using the words of recent meme trend - "Hum karein toh karein kya, bolein toh bolein kya?"
I accept that the college suffered because of the previous vice chancellor, who was involved in various scams and was removed after students protested. But that should not reflect on the quality of students or alumni. By the same yardstick, Professor Veer Singh was removed because the students protested at NALSAR and ditto for Ishwar Bhat at NUJS. They too were involved in various scams. That doesnβt mean the students are bad.
It is funny because there is almost some cognitive dissonance in claiming they are stupid, lazy and incompetent and yet also detesting their very existence on campus. If they're such terrible students and have no prospects, why do you even bother with them at all lol. They're obviously incapable of being a real threat, right?
As with any cohort, some of them are brilliant, some of them are hard-workers and talented in their subjects of interest and everyone else is just fine, with some people (as in all cohorts), struggling.
Academically, they get the same legal education NLS is known for with great professors who often describe that they enjoy teaching them.
Despite them apparently "crying" about the moot problem as someone has commented below, several of them have better ranks this year than those who have aced complex arbitration problems before and are set to participate in international and national moots. Unless someone is willing to venture into delusional conspiracy theories that even the external judges are in cahoots with the university to gave them fake benefits (which I'm sure some of you do believe lol), they seem to be reasonably competent.
As for internships, they have one batch that is actively trying to land corporate internships for February. This is made challenging by the fact that they started the process a lot later than others because newsflash RCCs, rank lists, recruitment etc are not common lingo everyone is privy to and they likely needed time to understand how to work things, especially with no senior batch. . If you do want to evaluate this however, ask at the beginning of Feb. It is a compulsory internship and so, everyone has to do something. We'll know then how the process has really gone. Maybe everyone here will be proven right and they'll get nothing after all but it's extremely premature to have this discussion at all based on what is largely hearsay and tbh spite and envy.
Some of them are IRS officers, some of them have engineering and economics degrees, some of them are married, some of them have reached the interview stage of the UPSC as early as last year. It would be delusional to think there is a competition at all between them and a group of people in their early twenties just starting out. Their paths are likely going to look entirely different for the most part. Which is a good thing! The more lawyers we have that are not cookie-cutter "top tier NLU" grads, the better.
Having received my own legal education from a university nobody has likely heard of, I have found their cohorts to be curious, humble and empathetic and just about as qualified as any other on campus .
If you do get in, while it is too early for me to say anything about placements , you'll still receive the same NLS education thousands die for yearly and that itself is an undeniable asset. Being able to take classes with a Mrinal, Aparna, Nigam, Kunal Ambasta etc is the stuff dreams are made of imo.
Nevertheless, they have promising prospects.
