1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

As for unique people like Ashwath, these are partners who have not only been favoured by the Shroffs to Mody to Gorthi since being a junior lawyer , but these lawyers also bill at a higher rate than other partners. Same goes for Sai from TL. They've been around for a long time and know the market very well. I think we can reasonably expect 5Cr min. Maybe more if they billed more? But definitely not less. Can speak so confidently as I work with thr funds trio and know their billing.
Few more like Suharsh S (cutest partner ever), pretty sure he's billing more than his batchmates - AJ from funds.
There are soo many young and old lawyers coasting through corridors of Delhi HC , Supreme Court and other Tribunals.
Save your career Bhai. I did a mistake. I am trying hard to do an MBA
idk now, people tell me that in-house no longer pay to legal interns (they have learnt for us, the industry standard is nada). They still pay their software and finance interns though. lol.
Thank you in advance
Please, for the sake of yourself at least, pull out documents, ask questions on how the recruitments happened, make the VC accountable. The new SJAs are like pet parrots, "VC Sir, VC Sir".
This is also why the inquiry into the last faculty recruitment under Ishwara Bhatt was important. So we could identify the faultlines in the recruitment process. But of course, everyone thought it was a waste of time.
In Hollywood they actually give real talent leading roles example Chadwick Boseman, leonardo di caprio, and literally every single actor has got the role by real auditions, not the fake ass auditions that karan johar does where we all know who is going to be in the lead role. Only guy u can say nepotism is scott eastwood but the people there did not give him much attention
This will help understand the vacancies.
How are the placements at NLU( MNLU mumbai, Nagpur), top NLUs, SLS Pune, heard SLS Noida and Hyderabad are also facing issues. JGLS performed good.
Belong to a newly established institute, first batch graduating this 2024.
Although, if you compare the partner and the team culture compared to other teams in the firm, they aren't so bad.
Anyway, we used to have these long negotiation calls that started in the morning and went all the way upto 1-3 am. This went on for 3-4 weeks. I had to take notes and make changes and couldn't afford to not respond on calls / or miss anything. I was given a lot of shit for it. Despite there being other juniors. I started to pee in cold drink bottles while I was on calls.
Once I was explaining changes to a client while simultaneously peeing the bottle.
Needless to say I soon changed jobs in about 6 months because the working environment was too toxic.
Potential to earn money is more as a partner depending upon how many clients you poach. There could be underlying issues in the organisation, you never know. You might fail to adapt.
There are infinite reason imo.
LUMIERE LAW PARTNERS has been disbanded and closed its practice, therefore, all partners have left.
They usually don't have anything of substance to say.
I am single. I am happy.
Corporate (law firms)/S. Advocates chamber < In-house or Big-4 consultancies < Academia < Policy think tank and research domain < Govt Exams (though it's challenging but not toxic) < family business (if u have)
U can also consider other better options aside from law, such as finance, marketing, business consulting, blogging, freelancing etc but considering youre form a t1 nlu, Things in law would be pretty easy and straightforward for u.
What I have told u is Universal Truth and nothing can be otherwise, trust me, i know.

However, I want my seniors in this forum to correct me if I am wrong. The reason why I am dropping to pursue a 5 year LLB and not pursue a 3 year one is because I believe there is a huge difference when it comes to corporate placements. Even when it comes to top 3 year courses like CLC/GLC. So I hope it is worth joining a 5 year LLB. In addition, I would like to know if the 3 year LLB from NLUs supersede the 5 year LLB.
Tbh nothing is clear on the Corp team of SAM Kolkata, even on this platform.
Unless some insider gives insights about number of corp partners in Kolkata office, team strength, quality of work etc. nothing will be clear other than "there is no attrition, and good WLB"

And the crux of the opposition is the rebuttal of the agency called Bharat. This is just focusing on linguistic metaphor โBharatโ & ignoring the issue whether there exists a civilisational similarity & continuity across the Indian subcontinent - call it by any label - Bharat, Hindu, or Tamil, or the colonial moniker India (which itself is derived from Hindi).
The argument is very shallow. History informs us that the subcontinent was identified as Bharatvarsha both by internal agents & external agents. And it is this self-identification that JSD advocates us to revert in order to reconstruct our own self identity independent of alien impositions.
In short the opposition itself identifies with an idea of India defined by the western constructs & are opposing JSD z choice to define the idea based on indigenous constructs.
Don't refer to every book mentioned above, pick whichever you like. There are some topics which are explained in a better in one and some in other.
Is this a money laundering scheme or what
They could have bought a Mainboard next year at higher valuations
I'm a first year student at one of the t-1 colleges. While I'm doing well in my law school, I sometimes get serious reservations/second thoughts on pursuing a career in this field. The thing is I have heard of numerous instances of my seniors telling me how the work culture in this field is extremely bad. They've highlighted instances of how partners in firms and senior advocates in chambers shout and hurl abuses at their juniors. In addition to this I have read numerous testimonials here on LI stating the same. The problem is I am not very thick skinned and I'm extremely sensitive. Both these features of my personality are major impediments for me because the general expectation in this profession is to be thick skinned and not take things to heart.
What should I do if I feel I won't be able to withstand the pressure and humiliation junior associates are subjected to in law offices? Should I take the decision of exploring some other career avenues?
