Explain to me what "knowing youre born in the wrong body" means? Whose body do trans identified people wish they were born in? Explain to me what it means to "feel like a woman" or "live as a woman"? what do women feel like? how is the entire thing not built on regressive sex stereotypes? If I as a woman decided to become a part time scientist part time crime fighter tomorrow- lets say I become spider man/ iron man/ whatever- does that mean I am playing the social role of a man and therefore my inner gender identity (soul) is a man? How do souls know what sexes conform to what socially specific stereotypes anyway? do babies know what a barbie or a GI Joe are and know what these stereotypes are when they are born? What part of the brain or the body does your gender identity reside in?
How does one tell which man in a dress is a real "trans woman" and a perv who wants to harass girls in the bathroom? Where is any scientific proof at all for gender identities? Why should women pay the price and let their spaces and quotas and safety be ruined to accommodate these special priests of the woke church?
How is putting young children- sometimes very young- on "puberty blockers "- or drugs used to castrate sex offenders and treat cancer despite knowing the risks to health- from osteoporosis to sexual dysfunction- not something a religious cult would do? How is all this changing bodies through surgery not similar to religious dogma from circumcision to FGM ?
This trans ideology where you have to repeat the mantra of "trans women are women" is a religious movement. It seeks your submission by having you first assert something you know deep down is untrue . And it tells you that people who do not believe ( who are apostates or non believers) are evil bigots out to hurt the good people. It tells you that playing along with the nonsense- pronoun rituals and such- is what makes you a good and kind person. It even has extremists who will call for punching and killing all terfs. And the people in the movement have the same evangelical zeal and cognitive dissonance that people in cults do. Look up what "cracking an egg" is and what " internalised transphobia" is. The movement has its extremists. Go ahead- look up the phrase "Kill Terfs" "Rape Terfs" on twitter. There are mass shootings committed by trans identified individuals- did you even know that? Tell me these are harmless people who just want to pee. A movement which tells you there is to be " no debate", that tells you" the science is settled" while it discourages rudimentary data collection (allice sullivan) is not a social justice movement- its a religious movement.
An ideology that tells you there is such a thing as a " girl cock" and that a raped woman should not expect her crisis shelter to be male free because thats bigoted, that women do not have the right to demand same sex care in the hospital and must consent to being touched by a male bodied person or they should not be treated, and that lesbians must accept dating male bodied people to remain on the good side is about as religious as it can get. A movement that tells you that gay male misogyny in drag shows are something we should introduce to children in libraries is religious. A movement that repeatedly creates content aimed at children- tik toks and books and videos and even cartoons- that tells kids they should cut contact with their parents if they do not agree with the tenets of its ideology- is a religious movement. Its a cult.
This movement does not behave at all like a civil rights movement. there is high control and coordination and funding from billionaire- look up jennifer bileks work and who penny pritzker is. This movement runs away from media coverage instead of seeking it. This movement is top down and not ground up at all.
Before you tell me " that doesnt happen". Look it up. It happens all the time. Look up reduxx, look up what happened to kathleen stock, read some julie bindel, read some germaine greer, look up what happened to graham linehan and hear the witch trials podcast. Read what happened to Jesse Singal after he wrote fairly mild articles for the New York Times. These are all people with extremely credible leftist backgrounds and views who have been silenced and shamed by this movement. I bet you think somethings about them that are not true. If you run away from arguments because someone else told you its "transphobic"- you've outsourced your thinking. That's very religious. Look up vancouver rape relief. Look up Wii Spa. Look up what fallon fox did and what lia thomas did. Look up Hannah Barnes' book "Time to think". And read some helen joyce while youre at it.
If you dont want to listen to any of these people- please please listen to trans people, go to r/mtf and r/detrans. Do that everyday for ten days and tell me what you read does not cause any discomfort. Read Andrea Long Chu's females and tell me you agree with him on what female-ness is. Read gender queer and tell me this person ever manages to actually explain herself at all. Read that post by Alok Vaid Menon where he calls little girls "kinky". Look up jeffrey marsh and rachel mckinnon. Read what happened to keira bell. Watch that jazz jennings stuff - really watch it.
I was a trans rights activist until I actually educated myself and paid attention to what was going on. Changed my mind over night.
Young people have been indoctrinated into believing this trans ideology stuff the same way theyre indoctrinated into believing Hamas is made of freedom fighters who are resisting by raping dismembering and killing women and children. And there is a real human cost to both of these religious movements- its the biggest medical scandal of our time how this transitioning children stuff.
Its easy to dismiss people who disagree with you as being " out of their mind". When you dont bother to find out why they think what they do.
I've currently been allotted NLUO in the 2nd list. My AIR is 793 and I'm currently a class 12 student based in Delhi. So, I've been thinking about my options.
Should I try for SLS Pune, GLC, or ILS or go to a tier 2 NLU or DU CLC?
Looking for a proper discussion instead of throwing shade at any individual or scholarship. Just curious.
FWIW- almost all the faculty at nls have some history of engaging with junior scholars and students and have written letters and guided people. maybe not folks who are very very early career- but most of them.
You sort of bummed this plan OP.
Otherwise firms like Axiom, Chandhiok, p&a, elp
and at the end of the day, if I did not give it my best I don't deserve anything
having said this, you are in my direct competition now for clat25, best of luck ;)
You have to compete with 400 people batch then also compete with 400 people LLB batch.
If you are in the position to choose today, I mean actually have a good rank, which NLU would you pick.
Are doing these courses (and then reading up on some of the more technical parts) more efficient than studying the same topics in bits and pieces, from the basics, from books and blogs?

Obviously Senior Advocates can buy such flats easily, as can senior partners. But what about junior partners and SAs, or people in smaller firms? Is it common for them to buy such flats? Is there a kind of status symbol attached, similar to the craving for luxury watches?
Should I hire an experienced PA or a law graduate?
How much should I pay? I have heard 50k is the salary in the market?
So my questions are:
1. Is the bullish sentiment going to last even in a Congress govt or will there be a crash if they win?
2. Will the oligarch stocks (Ambani, Adani etc) always do well?
PS: Not a student post. I have been a colleague of his.
checks out, look at some of these comments
This comment also makes no sense. OP has said the program don't do ECs because they aren't undergraduates anymore? Which is...a perfectly expected trend? In the light of the six BALLB bot students who seem to remain logged on this website constantly lobbing insults of 'oho they can't moot', the point was that they don't care about moots in general. Nothing in this post is worse than what some of your cohort have said about these people, which has just been mindless mudslinging. Just about anything would look rosy in comparison. They have included one line about loving their peers which you have caught one to discredit what appears to be an essay-length account of their experiences? Ever thought that...it's possible they don't hate everyone they go to college with?
Contracts & CPC: Varun Malik Sir(explains every concept very carefully and thoroughly)
History: Srijan Sir (new addition and extremely well-read and knowledgable
Sociology: Kannan Sir & Manisha Sethi Ma'am(I think the latter left however very experienced at the same)
Torts & Family Law: Aruna Venkat Ma'am (very well read, knows her subjects very thoroughly)
Evidence: Keshav Rao (was VC of NUSRL, now senior faculty at NALSAR, knows every provision every rule by heart and now I think is teaching criminal law as well)
Consumer Law: KVS Sarma (was recently inducted into NALSAR, has a strong background in Consumer law, haven't heard any feedback yet but still).
Tax Law: Neha Pathakji (very famous, recent SC (of Pakistan) judgement even cited her, explains very well)
Administrative Law: Sourabh Bharati (explains every concept so clearly and comprehensively
Constitutional Law: Siddharth Chauhan (the entire thread has already validated this)International Trade Law: Ishita Das Ma'am (knows her subject very well, very well-read)
A few good teachers left NALSAR in the last few years but NALSAR has held recruitment drives for replacements this year. The newbies are now being tested now, but it is slowly and steadily getting back on track.
(1) does pay increases annually? And substantially?
(2) with 25k lawyers from lawyer coming from different city cant survive and its impossible to take care of family with that low amount.
So are there any GENUINE SUGGESTIONS for good coaching centres in Delhi? Like any online or offline coaching?
Also, having no relation with math for straight 7 years, need a coaching that makes us understand basic math from scratch.
For more context- Fin Sec offered 3 internships out of 6 odd applicants(Batch of 45) for the LLB batch while only 2 out of idk of their 80+ batch.
Take inspiration from these objective questions and frame your own subjective questions. This is how Iβve been doing. Try to come up with a workable format which you can replicate in the exam. Iβm also in the same boat as you. I wish the best for you. Hopefully see you soon. Take care.
Please think about setting up a more enjoyable career and indeed life in a different practice. As a bright A0 you are eminently employable (regardless of what fears you, like any of us at that age, might have).
So to summarise:
1. What would be the average salary for this position.
2. Any tips on how to negotiate my salary.
3. I have been doing my work very dilligently and have received praise from others as well.
Any tips and pointers would help. Thanks :)
Banks credit card, personal loan nahi dete
Baap apni beti nahi deta
Family izzat nahi deta
Sad to hear this. I wish I could say I can relate, but I donβt think I can.
Suggestions:
1. Try to find avenues where you can blow off steam.
If you own a bike/ car, take a long drive. Or go for a run. If you need to feel at peace, go for a yoga type retreat. Talk to a therapist if you have to.
2. Change the environment youβre in
Since youβre in a firm, it is filled with lawyers, and because of your schedule Iβm guessing you have not been able to make many friends in the city who donβt do law. Talking to such people only reinforces the hustle culture youβre in.
Find groups online which do weekend trips or some outings. Travel with them. It will take you more than a 2-3 days to come out of that stressful mental zone. Talking to people outside law will help you regain mental sanity.
All the best!
Secondly, may be the OP has not gone into the aspect of "hypocrites and backstabbers", probably because they may not have had such an experience. Or even if they had, they arguably know how to handle such issues because of their maturity and experience in life. Something which is a serious life issue for 18-23 year olds may be a total non issue for 26-32 year olds. Not saying that all older people are mature and all younger people are immature, but age does play a significant role in tempering down extremities. Something which the kids who spread hate about a whole cohort of students on this platform lack (moderate temperament and empathy).
Thirdly, using of familial and financial privileges to secure some position in life is not a problem that is exclusive to one group of people (LLB-H) alone. You can find such examples everywhere (probably even in the "flagship" program of NLS). Problems like nepotism and favouritism are universal.
About expansion- I'm all in favour of expansion of seats, not just in NLS but in all premier institutes of India of all fields, not just law. We need more number and a diverse range of students graduating from such institutions. That's the need of the hour. All this talk about "oh more number of people will reduce quality/brand value.. blah blah" is such elitist gatekeeping nonsense which honestly I didn't expect from students of NLSIU as an outsider.
Lastly, I really hope I get through NLSAT, because what the OP said in the end about taking a chance on a program that you'll have to actively build, resonated with me. I'll be honoured to be a part of the formative years of the program at NLS. As for me, I'm not eyeing any corporate placements; I just want quality legal education, which I believe NLS can provide, despite its apparent shortcomings. However, the prospective students who do want corporate placements should not be dissuaded by discouraging posts on this platform. There are multiple ways through which we can reach our destination (if not directly as the above comment says).
PS: Everything is moot if I don't crack NLSAT. So Im just gonna leave this here and go study :P
PPS: I will take the above commenter's advice about studying hard and keeping an open mind. Thanks.
I am assuming that they would pay mandatory interns as well. From what I have heard from past trilegal interns, the stipend is usually 16k, so it could be that.
In terms of things to keep in mind, I'd say there's going to be significantly less stress than past internships, just be polite to everyone and submit given work in time. No need to go above and beyond to show your worth as an intern, unlike in the past.
If so, then apply where you actually want to visit.
Also do it well in advance as visas in India take forever.
If you are not rich, you need to apply to law firm internship programmes/vacation schemes.
Other than that, talking to my colleagues, I can say that there is no difference between the above-mentioned colleges except for a few things here and there. Except maybe in MNLU where they don't have a campus.
This is not to discourage any aspirant. Please know what youβre getting into. If your idea of the program is to secure a corporate job, please know that it wonβt be as direct as this message tries to portray. If your program is to learn about law, the current academic situation at NLSIU does not offer any special education that other good NLUs wonβt provide. Ofcourse, there is the aspect of legacy and alumni network. But trust me when I say that they will be of little help. Your hard work, merit, and a damn good amount of luck will determine where you end up. In any case, the college is filled with hypocrites and backstabbers. I am surprised that the OP has chosen to not go into this aspect at all. To the contrary, they have chosen to emphasise on how they love their peers. I disagree with this impassioned rhetoric. There will be a very small group which youβll be able to trust. I have seen people who claim to be hardcore communists and foaming at the prospects of a corporate job at the same time. It is easy in this place to paint a messiah figure on people like these.
My only advice to anyone who comes to this place is to study hard and have an open mind to learning more and more. No amount of sociability will insulate you from the horrible people in this college. This might be a garden but it is a garden of thorns with roses sparsely scattered. All the best.

why is no one answering
Any idea about the work culture?
First, the demand for specialized skills (that an MBA) does not provide, is rising. Understandably so.
Second, MBA program fees are now exorbitant. This creates a spiral for higher salary expectations. Such jobs are far and few between. Lower-paying (good) jobs just don't provide the ROI.
Third, there's a demand for deep specialization. When combined with a management degree, is what will provide the edge in the time to come.
Learnings for Law Schools:
The BBA-LLB (Hons.) program will see greater traction because the management curriculum covered as part of traditional MBA programs can be easily covered in the BBA segment. Combined with the LLB segment, the combination will provide the edge. Law is where the deep specialization will come from.
Law school fees range from high (NLS at ~25 lacs currently) to exorbitant (BITS Law and LLULER at ~70 lacs). These will have to focus on creating deep specialization through their PG programs. Currently, in these schools, UG degrees are their flagship programs - which cannot and should not be. State NLUs are at a big disadvantage as respective state funding is minuscule and erratic. Therefore, state NLUs depend on UG student fees to bring financial sustainability.
Educational loans are ALWAYS a bad thing. We have a situation of high fees in state NLUs --> high loans --> focus on RoI --> skewed career choices --> defocus on higher studies --> lack of good faculty --> drop in quality of law education.
